Well you know what they say, once you think things can't get any worse, they usually can, and do.

And so go the Hawks. Let's see, how would we be better served as a team?

Option 1: Draft Yi at 3 and pick up a PG (God only knows who) with 11. It could be Acie Law, Javaris, Luke Ridenour (why) or Calderon.

Option 2: Draft Al Horford (3rd most draft-ready player, can play PF or C in the Leastern Conf.) and pick up Al Thornton at 11. Then trade Childress for Calderon. Sure it sounds silly because for some reason everyone here loves Childress, but he's not that good and has made little in the way of progress in 3 years. Calderon would automatically make us a much better team. Replacing him with Thornton also makes up better because he can actually score and hustles more than our entire team combined (save Josh Smith). So our lineup would be:

PG: Calderon, Lue, Claxton, A. Johnson
SG: J. Johnson, Salim, Thornton, sign another
SF: Thornton, J. Smith, M. Williams
PF: J. Smith, M. Williams, S. Williams
C: Horford, Zaza

This gives us unparalleled flexibility, tenacity and scoring power. Although it makes far too much sense and that just wouldn't be prudent with our current ownership structure.

Option 3: Trade the 3 and 11 for Amare and give away Speedy or Lue in the deal, or another. Trade Childress for Calderon and sign a backup 2.

PG: Calderon, Lue, A. Johnson
SG: J. Johnson, Salim
SF: J. Smith/M. Williams
PF: M. Williams/J. Smith, S. Williams
C: Amare, Zaza

With options 2 or 3, we win a ton of games in the East. Unfortunately, neither will happen.

This could be my last moment as a Hawks fan, and that's a terrible because I've loved this team for so long. But if we do draft Yi, I don't know what I can do.
