Kemba Walker is a collegiate highlight real for sure.

Is he an NBA PG ?

He is alwayse a but out of control and forces alot of shots......much like Teague in college. I think he will have a tough transition in the league of he has to play PG. I do like him more then Teague mainly b/c of his jump shot form.

He has a lot of Monte Ellis in him BUT he is even smaller then Ellis by about 3 inches.....puting him in the mold of a Brooks / TJ Ford / Bobby Jackson type of scoring PG.

.

Here is the question:
If Kemba Walker and Nolan Smith are both available which one do you take ?

Nolan Smith. He's a winner and has played 4 (it is 4 right ?) years under Coach K. One could assume he's a smart player just by relation. He's not going to do a lot, but we don't need him to.

Kemba Walker is really productive at the college level. We will be picking in 2nd round and neither will most likely be there, but I would take either and not complain much in the 2nd but I think there will better options for the Hawks.

I would pick Nolan Smith over Walker because I think he is more mature and Walker forces way too many shots up. I think Smith is more of a complete player that would work hard to improve in the NBA.

Smith's ceiling is Chris Duhon. Walker's ceiling is probably slightly less effective than Ty Lawson. Walker also averages very close to a 2 to 1 assist to TO ratio. Smith has never been close and does not have good size for a SG. We will not get either and I am happy. I would rather have Darius Morris, Demetri McCamey, or even Corey Fisher in the 2nd round than to spend a 1st round pick on either Walker or Smith.

I actually created this thread a week before the Hawks traded their 1st round pick for Hinrich. I was looking at Walker and Smith as 1st round picks in the mid 20's.........you seem to think we could do better with our 2nd round pick in the mid 20's. We simply differ here.

We can't forget that Teague is the same age as both Smith and Walker. Teague was light years ahead of Smith when they were playing against one another as sophomores in the ACC 2 seasons ago.
