We have our 2nd and Houston's. We don't get Phoenix 2nd until 2012

I dont think trading the first is so bad now since I know we have to second round picks..the two picks and cash can get you in the bottom half of the first if there is a player we covet and fear want be available at 38...

That's possible but Sund does not have a good draft record. It was said that the reason we did not take a big last year was because the big we liked late, Daniel Orton was already gone. I don't know how true that is but I do know that Orton had a history of injuries, a reported bad attitude and was not coachable. I would love to have Bebe in the 1st round but I think we can get Renardo Sidney as a steal in the 2nd round and he has 10x's the potential as Pape Sy or any other foreign dude that will never play for the Hawks. I would also love Klay Thompson who might slip to the 2nd round for several reasons.
Renardo Sidney: Could be better than any big we currently have off bench if he got in shape. Think Big Baby, Dejuain Blair but he is not undersized. He is a legit 6"10 with shoes, 6"9 without.
Klay Thompson: Dude has Kevin Martin written all over him. Knockdown shooter.
William Buford: has Wes Matthews written all over him
Keith Benson: More athletic than any big we have off bench. Will need to get stronger, might end up in D League by end of season or could end up a rotation player.
Scotty Hopson: Good bench wing size. If he makes defense his niche in the NBA he could help.
Marshon Brooks: Probably can get buckets just as well as Jordan Crawford or any guy that just gets buckets off the bench from day 1.

take kemba walker off your list....what in the world makes you think this guy wont be taken in the lottery? The back half of this draft will not be good....Nolan Smith is going to be ur best bet at a late pick but he may also be gone early bc there isnt much in front of him, in other drafts he would def be taking late first early second but with the weakness of this draft hes going early.....this is coming from a crazy Duke fan

I agree Renardo Sidney would be great..Has good size very athletic jus need to get in shape.. love Klay Thompson proto type 2 in size great shooter..NBA pedigree father is Michael Thompson would be a good young player to let Joe and hopefully Jamal Mentor.. its some talent in this draft..that 1st we traded and pick 38 really could have really replenished this team..

Just noticed that, thanks for the find. Houston doesn't owe their pick to Detroit til 2012 at the minimum and cannot consumate their trade to us until one year after that.
Seems that we are left with just one pick then for this year but that still doesn't change the weakness of the draft or Sund's ability to move up through trade with future 2nds as bait.

I don't know who or what to believe because here it says we get the pick this year it is just top 40 protected.

Never was as horrible as they wanted you to believe. Remember the same scouts call this weak that said Marvin Williams should be #2 overall
