This is just a question would you trade JJ for Monta Ellis? I understand the salaries don't match but GS is looking for a sg with size and honestly JJ probably has 2 more productive years left. Just a question don't read too much into it but if given the opportunity would you make this trade?

No...Monta is probably the most overrated player in the league and is an undersize shooting guard to boot

That would be the worst trade the Hawks could ever make.
As stated Monta is the most overrated player in the league. GS would love to trade him........nuff said.

If I wanted a salary dump to get rid of JJ's contract, I'd consider this deal. On a talent basis, I wouldn't consider it.

I agree w/ AHF here... If we have an opportunity to dump JJ's contract I think any move is one we should consider.
JJ's deal is now obviously a contract the ASG dealt out in order to make the product on the floor more appealing to potential buyers. They knew good and well they would only have to deal with the first year or two, so it wasn't a hard contract for them to ink.

Yes, because we could get Epke Udoh back as part of the package to make salaries work. Get out of JJ's contract before it's too late.

Like a few others have said, if the salaries were the same and the time left on them the same too, I wouldn't do this trade. But if it meant removing the JJ albatross, I think you would have to consider it for the future of the franchise.

I just don't see Teague and Ellis as backcourt makes.
Curry and JJ would be lethal though.
It would help the team in terms of our cap 5 years from now but we would be worse team for the 3 years no doubt.
