I'm starting to think that Horf is really good trade value.   Fans have been talking up the possibility of getting Horf for their rebuilding project.   I think it would prolly serve Horf best because on a rebuilding team, he would be great, especially, if they can move him to PF.

Names that are coming up:

Bogut.
Scola  - possibly Scola/Martin
Gortat/Nash.

What do you think?  If we can't get D-12, should we look at some of these other possibilities or just stay pat?

none of the proposed are worth trading Horford for. Either D12 or some other superstar/future superstar. People like Scola, Bogut, Gortat will never been what Horford is.

Might be just a little early, but if they keep on winning w.o. him, seems like a logical thing to think about.  My question is can a player be traded when he's injured?

I agree, i think its a little premature to do that.. Lets see what the team looks like w/o horford when we play some legit competition.

It's still early, but if we can get better in the process we should explore those avenues...

P.S. We're 11:4 with two blown games we should have won, so in reality we should have 13:2 record... It was so unfortunate to lose Horf and not be able to play out this season as a true contender... Damn!

Just sayin', but why has no one mentioned the beat down by the Pacers?  The Hawks played without Horford for the majority of that game and got owned.

Stop posting silly trade threads Diesel. Stupid idea. Especially Scola. Move this to the trade fourm.

Horford is a young, super efficient 15/10/3.5/1/1 player and solid defender locked up for the next 4 years. You don't trade him for players like Bogut, Scola, or Gortat.

In Diesel's defense, he did propose Nash and Gortat as one of the proposed deals. Let's say the deal is Horford & Hinrich for Nash & Gortat.
Nash is a top tier PG who is also a HUGE expiring! We gain an elite PG (although Teague is approaching that status himself) for this season and get financial breathing room next season after his contract expires. Gortat isn't an old man either, He's only 2 years older than Al. He's a legit Center too with an emerging pick and roll game with Nash. He's also making less money than Al.

Nash/Teague/Pargo/Sloan
Johnson/Green
Williams/McGrady
Smith/Radmanovich/Johnson
Gortat/Pachulia/Collins

Honestly, that's a really strong team IMO.  Our 2nd unit gets even better with Teague taking the reigns with them. I'd hate to lose Al, but you're essentially trading Al for Gortat and more financial breathing room long-term

We don't want to remember that we got owned.  I think the Pacers were better that night because of the loss of Horford.  Our weakness is teams that can score in the paint.   Well, that's Indy's calling card.  I want to really watch us versus Philly...  That might be insightful.

Joe would like it.

Nash brings toughness.  Gortat too.  I just happen to think that it could be a win win. ..  we gain a player who can train Teague on how to really be effective and aggressive.    I don't know though.  It's really a lot on Gortat.   Is he that good?

There have also been float Andersn V.

I was considering a deal that would net us KG and Rondo for Horf/Teague/Marvin.

But you know.. That's a lot of Rondo love because KG is done.

It is obvious that Horford is better than Bogut, but a lot of times you don't simply make trades only when you receive the "better player". I think Bogut would fit well on our team and I would be happy with that trade. I see our team with Bogut as a team that would be better as a whole but lesser as a sum of the parts. Having a dedicated rebounder/defender as well as someone with a semblance of a post game would flow well with the rest of our guys.

I disagree.  Bogut = Horford (imo).  Bogut is a better defender/rebounder (averaging 2.5 blocks, 10.5 rebounds last 3 years).  Career 52% shooter....bigger than Horf and can defend the Centers that Al can not.  I would trade Horford for a healthy Bogut straight up.

A big problem is Bogut is rarely healthy
