The rest of the team is not given much of a chance on most nights since most of the shots come from the Shooting guard and power forward positions when Joe and Josh are in the game.

Huh?  Joe (4-15) and Josh(3-10) got typical shot attempts (excluding 4th Q) but was missing their shots.  Marvin (5-8) and Teague (9-11) were balling tonight and stepped in where Josh and Joe were struggling.

Joe took over a 3rd of the team's shots in the 1st quarter and was 1-7.  A lot of the shots were forced even when teammates were open.  Joe continues to play like this even this year.  Players shooting a higher percentage in this game all had fewer opportunities than Joe Johnson eventhough johnson's minutes were cut to 30.  When he plays his regular work load, it is not only difficult for others to get into the game like Willie Green.  But also when in the game with joe, most of the shots come from Joe johnson on an Isolation play Which makes it difficult for other to have big shooting night because they do get the volume of shot that Joe and josh receive.

But you do want Joe taking the majority of shots don't you?  If he doesn't all you'll hear is he is the highest paid player and not agressive, he is no leader, he is no star...blah blah blah.  All Cap was pointing out that when your best players struggle it's good to see the others step up and be productive and efficient to help out.

When he is taking good shots yes but I don't want him taking a bad shot while other have a layup because he is the highest paid player on the team.  He still takes far too many bad shots for my taste and we all know that josh takes bad shots half the time.  But anyway, my response to Caps is that it could happen more often if the coach and the team realizes who has a hot hand and who doesn't and work to get the person with the hot hand the ball.  Teague obviously had the hot hand tonight and he still didn't take the most shots.  Just Saying

Poor Marvin - -  He only had 5 of 8, including 3 of 4 from 3 point territory
3 assists and 3 steals.  He had only one free throw, which he made.

He's been playing like this all trip.  When are we going to get rid of him?
So many know he's not talented and they really want him gone.

Oh, well.  If we must keep him for a while, guess we'll just have to live with it.

Joe played alright. His shot was off early, and he dribbled a hell of a lot a couple possessions, but he hit the boards, played good defense and didn't mess up momentum that we had. He had a couple iso-possessions that I liked because they woulda been cold blooded had he nailed them. He had some floaters that rimmed out as well. Overall, this game was great, besides the fact that Zaza didn't get to pad his stats.

The stepping up of the other guys and the off nights for Josh and Joe may be related.  Say J&J get more attention from the defense and in the Hornets game plan.  The other guys get less attention....and burn the Hornets.  As long as its a blowout, I don't really care who gets the points.
