Horf, Marvin, and Kirk
for
Nash, Gortat, and Frye.
Atlanta does it for Nash's experience and Gortat's size.
Phoenix does it to rebuild with Horf at PF and to get out of Frye's contract.
The only problem.
Does Nash come off the bench?
Win now trade...

Adding Nash is interesting although he seems to be regressing this year. His defense is awful but the thought of him leading the break. He just makes other players better. How much gas does he have left in the tank? Teague would come off the bench and I wonder how he would deal with that. Also, we probably lose him at the end of the season and at his age/injury past do we want to keep him?
I love the idea of Gortat as our center but I don't know if we are giving up too much to get him.
Frye out right sucks now.
Interesting trade...I am not sure if I would do it but it is something to consider.

The trade as written really comes down to Horf/Marvin for Gortat/Frye. Frye does suck... However, the win now is a shot with Nash at the controls. No way do I look into resigning him. It's still Teague's team. However, Nash gives us a floor controller extraordinaire. Think about that fast break...

You also need to look at the room we'd be clearing financially by doing this deal. We'd have a legit center. We'd have a legit power forward. We'd have a legit shooting guard. We'd have a legit, young poing guard. We'd basically have to find a SF and fill out the bench with about $17.5 million coming off the books in Nash and all our other min. vet guys. I think that would put us in a more financially sound position for the long-term wouldn't it? Gortat makes less than Al and is currently a better player (by numbers).

Currently. We'd still have to make a deal for Smoove soon and make a decision on Zaza sooner than that. However, yeah, financially, we'd have more money under the cap and player by player we'd be built better.
As far as the Sf...
shoot, Dime a Dozen.
However, this season, I think we'd make some noise in the playoffs. Gortat is the Hammer.
