One of the new owners was on 790 the zone in Atlanta this morning. He said there was a telephone call at 11:30 today that will decide whether a trade goes down or not. When pushed he made the comment that " if he was a good shooting guard that could me moved for a top 10 NBA player, then he would be ready to move"

JT/Theo for Sheed???

This was said on the realgm board.

I wouldn't mind that trade.

Perhaps the best news is that is seems the new owners are in full control of player movements

Rasheed isn't a top 10 NBA player.

I didn't know Sheed was a top 10 player.  Maybe it will be another player.  But I wouldn't be disappointed.  I just think if the new owners think Sheed is a top 10 player they are sadly mistaken.  He's good, just not a top 10.  Heck he isn't even the best player on his current team.

Well, Don't be confused by the waving of Hands...

If we make that trade, it simply to clear cap space in the offseason.  It's a good move becuase there's a possibility that Sheed/Reef might work and that we can resign Sheed for less than the 17 Million he's making right now.

It would also be good for us to finally start to think about a NEW Pg (stoudamire).

As far as PTL.  This is only a prelude to JT/Anderson being their backcourt.

Theo/Zach/Woods/Anderson/JT...

The young guns...

Well Rasheed is a top 5 talent basketball physically, but in the bottom of the talent pool regarding attitude, desire and sportsmanship.

JT/Theo for Sheed
If this is the case, we have

Diaw/Jax/Sheed/SAR/Narz?
Hensan/JV/Glover/AH/DD

This is one [censored] of a turnover lineup with no D.

And IF Sheed/SAR work, we get into 8th seed(first round exist), out of lottery and lost Sheed in the off season?

I don't like it.

Who plays defense on the team now? Surely you don't
mean Theo"I only block shots" Ratliff. I'd get rid of JT/Theo
for a rack of basketballs at this point.

Wow what a wonderful trade, we get a felony for not only 1 but 2 good citizens and 2 heck of basketball players.  Oh another thing Sheed need to get hi a$$ down in the blocks and be aggressive and rebound and mix it up with the big boys because in the last year or so he believes he is Dell Curry, falling in love with that 3 point line.  And yes Theo might just be I only block shots, but guess what Who is the best shot blocker in the league? proves my case, thank you very much.

Boonie,

A TOP 5 talent?  I would be hesitant to put him in top 30, but top 5 is just wrong.

Just looking at Forwards ...

Duncan
Garnett
Webber
Randolph (this year)
Wallace (Heck, Rasheed isn't even the best Wallace)
Artest
Mashburn
Odom
Spreewell
Walker
Brand
Malone
Nowitski
O'neal
and our very own .... Abdur-Rahim

I'm sorry, this guy is NOT top 5.

Play.

Hotz,

Which, chief among numerous other reasons, is why you aren't a GM in this league.

Theo and Terry both have decent trade value.

Two of them for one plug, and a plug with a real attitude at that, is just NOT worth it.

Play.

You'll get a problem player or more big contracts for JT/Theo. They aren't very good players. They both have HUGE flaws
and more than one of them.

Lets look...

JT
Poor passer
bad defender
His shooting percentage is declining every year
His 3pt% has declined to a mediocre 33% this year

Jt is a player nobody wanted in the offseason and now
he's got good trade value when he's having his worst season
since he was a rookie?

Not only does he look bad on the court...but he's down to a
losuy 15.8PPG 5APG.

Lets look at THeo....What does he do besides block shots?
He's not a good defender...He gets pushed around...He's
not a good scorer or rebounder...He's declined the last two
years.

Rasheed is 6'11". athletic and has a very good inside and outside game. The guy can do it all hence the top 5 physical talent HOWEVER he shies away from contact and indeed has fallen in love with the outside jumper.

Give this guy a heart transplant and he'd be rocking the NBA.

I to hate Sheeds thugish attitude. The problem is that this
team isn't getting anywhere and Jt has done nothing to
help his trade value. In fact, his poor season even stat
wise has had to hurt his value...He wasn't considered
valuable by many during the offseason.. Why would that
change with the team getting even worse and him playing
even worse?
