This is a guy who I think would fit into our game plans perfectly. He's a high energy guy with an equally high basketball IQ.

Grob/CC to UTAH for Harpring/Ostertag works

Ostertag is just for cap filler and his deal is up after next season.

JT/Diaw/Harpring/SAR/Theo is a lineup I'd like to see

We get the better end of that deal.I'd rather have
Harpering than Dog........Sloan wouldn't want Dog.

The Mormons mould stone the wife-girl friend abuser to death in Utah. They will only have players of good character in that state now.

But wait, they too crack head John Drew for Nique' in '82 so who knows. Stokton is gone and  Malone may be too, so Sloan may not be back.

With Kirelinko (sf) and Harpring (sf) though I would think they would want a player other than a sf b/c Kirelenko is their only guy who has the ability to be a star and they have nobody else with any star potential. Harpring is their 2nd best player if Malone leaves.

Kirilenko's their future. not Harpring, who was the product of a solid player fitting perfectly in to a system. It's happened before...but he didn't change his game. Much the same happened to Donyell Marshall.

Nevertheless, Malone's not going anywhere else, so you can stop thinking that now...esp. with the Minny trade. He wants that scoring title.

And you're right, Utah wouldn't want Dog...he's the anti-sloan player.

That is the only likely destination for him if he is traded.  Its possible that NY or Miami would be involved in some 3 way action, but with Van Gundy reportedly really like Dog (and there is some talk here in H-Town about it), I would say there is a very good chance that if Dog is moved it would be to the Rockets.  I would love trading Dog to the Rockets, sending Griff/Nacbar to Miami and Jones to Atlanta.  That would be great.

We don't need Eddie Jones nor his contract.  He's got 3 or 4 years remaining on a deal that pays him well over $10 million per, and he's 33 and clearly a declining player.  Getting that contract will only hamper any future moves we could make.

A trade that works via trade checker is Glenn Robinson for Glenn Rice, Terrence Morris, and Tito Maddux.  Yes, it's pretty much Big Dog for nothing, but it doesn't hamper us in the future.  Rice's contract is off the books at the end of the year.  Morris is a nice 6-9 swingman that could be a good back up.  Maddux is a 6-4 point guard that would give us a bit more length in the back court.

Outside of that, I'd just as soon keep Big Dog and let his contract run out in 2 years.  The thing is, for his production, we aren't going to get value for him because everyone knows what kind of player he is.  He's only got 2 years left on his deal.  IMO, it is foolish to deal that away for a longer deal and a player who really isn't any better than Big Dog is.
