Zaza does not have value. I don't think there is any chance that the Hawks could get an expiring contract for Zaza considering how he has played this year and considering he has another 3 years guaranteed on his contract after this year. No chance would the Wizards be interested in him.

Unless the Wizards can get a young player in exchange for Haywood, they might as well buy him out. He's as good as gone next season...

Who said you have to get an Expiring deal for Zaza?

Look, the trade deadline is not just for teams who have expiring deals.  Some teams need to change out players because of bad chemistry.  Some teams need to trade because of a playoff push.  Some teams just need new faces.  Right now, Washington is in the midst of a firesale, but that's not about getting below the cap....  Sheez, Arenas is still signed.  For them, it's about Starting over and maybe getting some draft picks.
Houston is a trade partner.  That's not because they are giving up.  No... They are making a playoff push.  They want serviceable players who fit better than players that they plan to trade.
Dallas is a trade partner for the same reason.  They will gladly give up Howard for the right deal and it doesn't have to be expiring.

The trade deadline is a time for teams to examine themselves both financially AND qualitatively.

ZaZa has a bad hip and 3 more years under contract.

Now that Isaiah Thomas is our of the league I don't think any one would take him right now.

I would love to throw the MLE at Heywood in the off season. Maybe he likes Atlanta. Ge will probably have about 10 teams MLEs to choose from.................maybe more money then the MLE.

Nah there's no value in a just turning tomorrow 26 year old nearly 7' and 275 lb center making 4 million dollars a year who is locked up for 3 more years and who also averaged 12/7 and 12/8 the last 2 years that he had starters minutes. Yeah no value there at all ... Posted Image

He has a hip injury, he doesn't have a bad hip, at least not one that has been publicly disclosed at this point. Zaza has been an extremely durable player throughout his career thus far, especially considering how physically he plays.

Picky, picky. A little sensitive are we ? Do you really think teams want to publically say how bad injuries are before the trade deadline ?

Until his hip is healed its a bad hip. When a player is playing on a bad / hurt ankle what do the announcers say. Player X is playing on a bad or hurt ankle.

Woody was quoted as saying that his hip pain comes and goes. It sounds like it may have been a chronic problem for a little while. Hopefully this rest will allow it to heal up. We need him to bang people around and to out hustle lazier bigs in the playoffs.

Sensitive?? Not at all, just pointing out that there is a difference in defining an person's body part as being "bad" and being "hurt". Players miss games being of being hurt or injured and then they heal, on the other hand players with a bad body part (e.g. T-Mac with the bad back) never full heal from it and it usually results in them routinely missing time because of that same injury. At this point Zaza has only missed one game because of his hip so that definitely does not define it as being "bad".

Regarding Woody I haven't read what you're attributing to him, although I'm not denying he may have said it, but did he give a time frame for when it's come and gone? He could be and likely is just talking about the past few days since he hurt it. Unless I've completely forgotten that he missed time because of injuring his hip in the past I'm going to treat this is an isolated injury and not a chronic one.

And yes I hope that he gets some rest and gets it healed up as well because we definitely need him.

As it pertains to a person's health, labeling a body part as "bad" does imply a chronic issue.  Zaza has an injured hip unless someone is privy to his medical records and can prove otherwise.

No medical records needed to specualte. All this board does is speculate.

Pachulia is scheduled for a MRI test on Monday.

“My gut tells me he won’t make the trip,” Woodson said.

Pachulia said doctors haven’t been able to pinpoint the problem other than to say it’s possibly tendinitis. He said the pain is just above the hip area.

“I don’t know how it started,” he said. “It’s on and off. It’s started ‘on’ again. I just hope it’s nothing serious.”

Is tendinitis not considered chronic ? Did ZaZa's own quote not make it sound like a chronic issue that comes and goes ? Did he not miss a game or 2 earlier this year b/c of that same hip ?

ZaZa's game is based around banging with other bigs, hustle, and diving for loose balls. A bad / injured hip makes all of the above difficult to do and makes it hard for the hip to heal.
