....even if that poster is entitled to some amount of distinction based on his longevity and post count on the board.

Good point. Right now is around the time where we get a lot of what I consider "RealGM" posts. Someone spits out what they think should happen, maybe its a trade or a draft or whatever. On RealGM these come in standard form with a trade id and then some really lame reasons why Team X does the deal and why Team Y does the deal. I agree with you Sturt, no reason to even open them or think about opening them.
At the same time, this is also usually the time where you can get intelligent posts about topics. Discussing an aspect of the CBA, how the ownership functions, legal implications with the team, etc. But even with these intelligent posts, a thread usually gets scattered with "let me talk about what trade I think we should do" that is a repeat of what a poster has already said in a thread they started. Frustrating? Yes, but when you read a well-thought out response to one of your posts I think it makes up for all the self-indulgent posts we see that don't contribute to the board.

All well taken, fanatic.
I guess my core point is that, when you're (universal "you") deciding how to title your post, probably not all that compelling to announce:
_sturt_'s Strategy for the Draft
The narcissism is underwhelming. And there is, after all, a column that tells everyone who started the thread. Why do that?

Good idea. Maybe we can even get the Hawks to change they're jerseys to this:

Doesn't bother me at all. I love the trolling, the egos... I love the posters who will take a stand on something, even though they are DEAD WRONG and whole board is against it. I love the bickering, the intelligence, the stupidity...all of it. I like the neutral posters and the complete @sshats. HAH! It's like a damn never-ending sitcom about basketball fans - Atlanta Hawks Basketball fans!
And I'd like to take a second to encourage everyone to be exactly who you are and change nothing about the way you post - because you all entertain the living sh#t out of me!!! God bless the Squawk. lol
