Helped turn around a hot mess in Portland, a stellar career under the circumstances.

In unrelated breaking news, the league has announced that Shelden Williams should retire as well.

for "basketball reasons," of course. LOL
Oh, but not so fast, my friend! He's going across the bridge (or under the tunnel? I don't know) for the Newark farewell tour on a one-year deal with the Nets, now that Mr. Chandler took his spot in Manhattan. (as per Woj @ Yahoo)

Its sad about Roy. I loved watching him play and he was a quality guy for this league.

I remember reading about BK and his draft strategy from that year. He mentioned there was someone with a "hot spot" (i.e. going to have a big injury) and that was the reason they avoided that person. Initially I thought it was Aldridge (may have been), but now I am starting to believe it was Roy. Either way, total screw up in that draft even with knowledge of a hot spot.

Its sad to hear Roy is leaning towards retirement. He was such an underrated player. Sometimes I wished he played for us instead of Joe.
