I love this team, but as constructed, we can't compete. We can win some games, don't get me wrong, but as constructed (even with Horf possibly back for a playoff run), we're not that competitive.
Right now...
We get out rebounded 51-32?
I expected we would be outrebounded, but that was with Hawes in the game. Hawes didn't play. Old man Elton Brand was teaching seminar on how to rebound.
Josh shot 15 shots, Joe shot 8.
Is Joe our money guy? Joe gets 8 attempts? Really? That's 2 shots a qtr.
Marvin is still a waste of space and contract.
I was hoping that this wouldn't be the case with his back all fixed and stuff, but Marvin sucks.
Here's what we should do.
Put Marvin with Horf and get some rebounding and defense.
Something should be done.

The truth is this is here.
This season like it or not is one of our last shots.
Joe is getting older and either next year or the year after, he's getting Amnestied.
Still Joe is our most profecient player.
Horf and Josh are young but them being together on the court is a mismatch. Horf is not a C and Josh is not a Sf. This is not even about what they play, it's about their mentality. Smoove is a classic tweener... we don't know what to do with him.
Teague is the franchise of the future.
It's not time to say fire sale, but one move can prove something to us. I would first gamble for D-12. Otis will feel heavy pressure in Feb. They are winning right now, but his trade demand is looming.
IF Otis won't give us D-12 for Horf.. That's a not resigned D12... Then let's look at Bogut or DeAndre or somebody that can really help our reboudning.
The other day, I heard...
Horf/Filler for KG and Rondo.
I love Rondo but KG can't help our rebounding.
We got killed on the boards by old man Brand.
A Nash and Gortat trade doesn't sound too bad right now.

Marvin had a pretty good season a couple years ago, 14/8. He's had some injuries since and his playing time went down with Crawford on the bench. I never thought he would burst out and be a 20/10 guy or anything, but I really thought we might see Marvin average 15/8 sometime.
I think this game might have been the turning point for me. It seems that most of the team has stepped up since Boss went out. Marvin seems to be playing worse and he really has no excuse now. He should be getting big minutes but you feel that we have bench players starting when Marvin and Twin walk out for the tip.

We lost a game tonight that I would have bet money we would have lost - I would have bet $50 at halftime (when we were up by
that we would lose. It was a setup. We shot well in the first half and they didn't - LD talks about "we have to be aggressive" and our guys snooze.....while their coach lights a fire under their asses and they come out and throttle us.
No big surprise.

Marv has only been in 4 post-horf games since coming back from injury and has stepped up his rebounding (8,5,8,5) in limited (21mpg) and inconsistent mins since tmac also came back
He had 8/8 in first half of Portland game and then was out for a long stretch; coulda been a great game for him but tmac also played well
Considering how he usually comes back poorly from injury ive been pleased
