Royce White with a promise, likely Celtics?

This is the single most intriguing player NEAR are selection position. He's even worth the Hawks considering a small move up. Are the Hawks going to sit on their hands this offseason? Trades are happening. Promises made. Hawks are (crickets).

Wonder would Boston give up the 21st pick for our 1st & 2 rounder?
If Boston has promised him then I doubt it. If we really want him we'd need to move up to get him. Based on the players that should be available with our #43 pick I'd rather keep that pick and perhaps do the crazy and BUY a 1st rounder this year to supplement our picks.

The bitter truth is Boston will more than likely take Royce White and Fab Melo off the board just based on the news of Garnett's pending retirement. So, it wouldn't benefit us reaching and trading our second round pick for this guy when we're in a 'deep' draft anyway. Everyone please chill out..
Whats more important to this team is shooting... And there's a generous amount of shooters left on the board when we pick 23rd overall. Secondly, like all drafts there will be a player that will fall in the draft. This could allow boards for some teams to change thus, increasing our odds of getting a player we want and need..

Looking at one site's information on White, it claims he has had legal trouble and isn't in great shape despite still having good movement. His ft% is also terrible. Why is this guy being considered? He sounds like a bad decision especially on a team like the Hawks who have nobody who would be able to really mentor him. Now the Celts, if they believe in him, would be much better because of Doc's respect and strong vet leaders like Garnett and Pierce. But for the Hawks? I really hope not.
Watching this guy play will cure almost all your reading about White. The guy is faster with the ball in his hands than without and does 260 lb spin moves and finishes. He's got a little Anthony Mason, a little Charles Barkley, a little pure Pg in him. More importantly, we're a team short on talent. Period. We can't make that up without taking some sort of a chance.
