From espn.com:

"Major step: current owners approve Nets' sale"

YankeeNets sign off on deal

"The New Jersey Nets were officially sold Friday to a Brooklyn developer intent on moving them across the Hudson River - a move immediately hailed in New York for returning big-time sports to the borough."

Well, isn't that just great for them.  Their sale went through in a matter of days.  New York always gets what it wants.  Does Atlanta?  I doubt half the owners even know we have a team.

Well I'm not sure if that's any different from us really. AOL has approved the sale, like yankeenets has approved the sale for the nets, but our lingering problem seems to be approval of the NBA and the Nets don't have that either they'll be just getting to that point.

Just like the Hawks Owners,

The Knicks owners will have to face an NBA subcommittee to make sure that the deal is good for the NBA... THEN  they will have to be voted in by the NBA Board of Governors.

The fact that the Nets new owners want to move to Brooklyn will cause this process to be long...

It just might be a long process -  Like four to six weeks.
