I was just thinking this team probably won't win more than 25games this year so that should put us in a good postion for a top 3 pick. My question to you is if we got a top 3 pick would you trade it for Caron Butler in Miami? Butler might be available with the Heat acquirin Lamar Odom who plays SF as well. I don't know much about Dwight Howard except that he hasn't played against any real talent. Emeka Okufur seems like another Kenyon Martin protype, athletic, strong but no range on his jumpshot. Okufur might be turn out to be a good player but not great. He isn't a superstar. I would do the trade myself I think Butler is would provide more help than the both of those other guys. Theo Ratliff and 1stround pick for Butler and Eddie Jones?

I would like it if Butler hadn't got injured...but that is also what makes him expendable..

I agree...we should be able to get another nice player if we keep our pick this year...although it is looking like we will get a top 10 pick rather than a top 3

obviously, if we get the first pick... i dont care WHOs declaring for draft, we keep it and use it to draft the best player regardless of position with the first pick.

now, in order for me even to consider ur deal... u gotta answer a few questions

1)injury status on Butler... i havent been followin the heat/butler so im not sure how the injury recovering is going... is it serious or will he be back to 100% next year?
2)wat pick we receive... if its like the 5th pick, id do it... if its top 3 like u said, i would have to say NO.

a better trade would be BUTLER + future first rounder (protected of course) for our top 3 pick.. if u want to trade the pick.

we've had simply BAD LUCK with drafting as of late.  Take DerMarr Johnson for example.  we had no idea he was going to suffer from a career injury accident.  also, we traded the 3rd pick for SHAREEF a few years back and if the same trade was given, id still do it.

I rather have Reef than Gasol (not dissin Gasol here by any means, hes a good player... but i rather have Reef).

Gasol hasn't been playing well lately, his efficiency stat has dropped way off

It's not the Reef trade that I'm concerned about.  It's the 2 first round picks for Lorenzen Wright, the 1st round pick for Big Dog, the first round pick for Dickau.

True we had bad luck with the Demarr pick, but that was a weak draft anyway.  In hindsight, we probably should have taken J. Crawford or Q. Richardson.  I never understood why teams were so down on QRich anyway.
