Banner ads and security questions   01/31/2017

So as of today we have added Google Ads to the site in order to help with the rising costs of the Hawksquawk. All members without a current subscription plan will see ads but you can easily have them hidden if you get a membership, which starts as low $2.50 per month.  We also added security questions for your profiles to protect your personal and billing info. There are a handful of questions that you can choose from and it is mandatory to fill these out. Rest assured that all answers are encrypted in the database so they are not seen by anyone and will help to protect your account from being hacked.  Any questions please feel free to send a PM to Dolfan23

Thanks, guys. We're still holed up in Baton Rouge, but it's become near certain that our house is flooded in spite of sitting higher than most in our neighborhood. Hoping to see the water recede quickly so we can get in there and see things for a fact. Good thing for us is that we have some friends whose house appears to have survived (*knock on wood*) who are with us here in Baton Rouge and who have offered to allow us a place to stay until we get back to some degree of normal.

Really sorry to hear that, @sturt.  Hope you have flood insurance as part of your package if it turns out you've got water damage like most of the area.  We are sending some supplies to Houston today which we hope will be of help getting people back together.

Literally just got word in the last 10 minutes that they're allowing us back in our subdivision. !-10 just opened up last night, so we were already packed and ready to leave Baton Rouge this morning--just sitting here right now waiting on the other couple who evacuated with us to finish up.

Here's a photo of our house, and you can see the cab of my pick-up just to the left. It looks like we got 6-7 feet, and no flood insurance, so yeah, it's going to be an interesting year. Hoping against hope that one of the volunteer clean-up teams will be helping us get mucked out.

Hate to hear you were impacted. Hopefully some of the disaster money will come your way. Be careful, I will definitely be praying for all the Squawkers impacted.
