  1. Diesel, what are you doing man??? Give it a rest dude. Marvin is on OUR team. Marvin is now an Atlanta Hawk for a long LONG time. The draft is not next week. What is the point of trying to discredit Marvin and his accolades in college? What's the point..he is on the home team now!! What are you looking to prove? Again the draft is over!! Get over it and get with the program!! You are wasting your breathe. There are no more draft decisions that need to be made this year. Deron is on another team. Paul is on another team and that will not change. The only thing you should be trying to debate is about Free Agency not Marvin. It is time to move on!!

    Practice Photos

Wow. Josh has been working his tail off in the gym. He will be a legitimate Power Forward!! Mark my words this is the building of an awesome Forward tandem that will ONE DAY dominate this league!! Chillz, Marvin and Smoove will be a force to reckon with!!
  3. This is actually terrible news for Atlanta. I think Atlanta was actually depending on him making the team and adding a big body that could grow with this young nucleus and become a force. We have to get Curry and Kwame now, no question about it. Morris had a very good chance of making the Hawks roster. Hell we have absolutely 1 big and that is Jason Collier who is garbage.
  4. I would like that!! He could help Stoudemire alot and he gives us a veteran playmaker on the squad.
  5. If we get neither, which I doubt, we can then direct our total attention to Dally and then Kwame Brown and keep on going down the line. We are going to have to get something started and resolved so we can move on with the building of this team. Why not start with this move!!
  6. put close to max contracts on Curry and Chandler AT THE SAME TIME and force Chicago to make a choice within a week. Make them sweat a little. They can only sign one of them. You do this an you won't have to do sign and trade deal with Al for one of these guys. You can use Al in some other deal.
  7. I think this trade just might happen. My only problem is we have no BIGS. Absolutely none. Washington is looking for a sign and trade with Kwame. Chicago is looking for a sign and trade with Curry. If we give Al up for Marbury, how are we going to get one of those 2 restricted FAs? This is all interesting!!!
  8. I totally agree. I am not sold on Hughes for big money. I wouldn't overpay him to come to Atlanta. He is decent but he is not worth a max type contract.
  9. The summer league team is our NBA team. Are they going to televise these games?
  10. Yep....Chad is finally right on this one. When I first heard we may go after Z, I scratched my head. I think BK screwed up last season by getting guys that didn't fit his team pitch and mold in any shape or form like Drobs and Collier. His draft was solid but his FA pursuits and signings were questionable. I gave him a pass on that last year because of the salary cap situation he got us out of. BK has to make the right decisions this offseason in Free Agency. Z is not a fit and Ray Allen was never going to come here. He is wasting time trying to get those guys. He has a realistic shot at Kwame and Curry and that is about it. He should concentrate on those guys and stop wasting time on older vets who want RINGS right now. Maybe this is just postering, however he has to produce better results this offseason in FA.
  11. How long do the Hawks have the rights to this kid? Isn't there a time span we can continue to hold this kid?
  12. Diesel we are starting to agree....and that is is kinda scary. But I totally agree with this post. Washington is giving up on Kwame too soon. He is going to realize his potential with another team...hopefully Atlanta. People are going to see why he was selected No. 1 overall starting with a change of scenery. I am hoping we get Kwame!!
  13. Disesel talking realistic scenarios??? Wow...now this is the stuff I like you to put up on this forum. Lets continue to talk about realistic scenarios. I agree with most of these none pickups with the Hawks. I truly only think we have a realistic shot at Kwame Brown, Curry and Watson in FA. I think that is all we can possibly get. Basically rejects based on medical or behavior issues from other teams, with the exception of Watson. However, I think if we get these three we will have majorly improved our team. This would give us a very nice nucleus!!

    Dream trade...

Don't start with this fantasy mess again. Keep these trades in your dream please!! Why do you continue to post stuff that you ABSOLUTELY KNOW will never ever happen. Yet you continue to post them???? Does this give you some kind of false sense of hope or something...I don't understand, educate me?? Talk about real stuff!!
  15. Our outside shooting would be tremendously upgraded. We would have two lights out shooters, something we missed dearly last year!! Shooters was one of my Number 1 priorities for the offseason.

    Playoffs

I will say this.....While I don't expect us to make the playoffs next year, I do expect this team to be extreme competitive this year IF....IF we go out and sign Kwame Brown, Eddy Curry, another Shooting Guard and Earl Watson and they all play to their potential. A lineup of: Watson/Stoudemire Chillz/?? Marvin/Smoove/Al Al/Kwame/Smoove Kwame/Curry/Ekezie Would give teams fits....again IF they play to their potential.
  17. That last pick was PRE-DETERMINED to be a project pick, preferably a foreign player. This was the plan before the draft. BK wanted to save that roster spot for a veteran FA. He is probably going to try and Sign Kwame Brown and/or Curry and/or Earl Watson. If he can get all three or two of the three, this team will look pretty nice. Definately an major improvement from last year.
  18. I concur. Bk is doing an excellent job. We can finally pick and choose and make other teams sweat to keep their players. We have never been able to do that!!
  19. From ESPN: 13. Kwame Brown, PF/C, Wizards ® BrownThe skinny: Despite all of Kwame's problems, teams are still interested. In fact, since the Wizards suspended him in the playoffs, the interest has gone up. Before, many GMs felt that Washington would match any offer for Brown. Not anymore. Brown, an athletic 7-footer who's still just 23, has value. A team such as Atlanta, desperate to turn around its fortunes, might just send a significant contract his way. Brown played high school ball in Atlanta and still has a fan base there. Given the loads of cash the Hawks have to work with, they might be able to afford him, Dalembert and a point guard such as Earl Watson .
  20. Drobs is not the kind of player Woody and BK want as one of their big men. He plays a finese game. He would rather shoot the 3 than bang down low. Woody wants some bangers!! I bet Randolph makes this team!!
  21. Good news!!!! Salim says he can handle to point and should do well there. We cut Drobs and we might have Morris on this roster!! Read............. Salim Stoudamire held on to his first Hawks jersey for all of 30 seconds before Hawks general manager Billy Knight handed the white No. 20 jersey to his mother, Theresa Williams-Stoudamire. "He knows what to do," a smiling Stoudamire said Thursday as he and Knight posed for cameras during his introductory news conference. Knight knew exactly what to do Tuesday night when Stoudamire was still on the NBA draft board when the second round began. The Hawks didn't hesitate to take the 6-foot-1, 186-pound guard from Arizona with the 31st pick. "We tried to trade up to get him," Knight said. "We really feel he was the best shooter in college basketball. Anywhere on the floor he's a threat, and he'll bring that element to our team. He hit so many game-winning shots for his college team, so we know he'll take those shots." Stoudamire nailed three game-winning shots during his senior season and led the nation in 3-point shooting, making a staggering .504 percent (120-of-238) of his long-range shots and breaking his school single-season record . "At Arizona I played out of position [at shooting guard], so a lot of people didn't see what I can do," he said. But is point guard, a glaring need for the Hawks, his natural position? "I'm a guard," Stoudamire said. "Put me in a point guard position or a shooting guard position and you'll get positive results." Drobnjak waived The Hawks decided Thursday not to pick up the option on backup center Peja Drobnjak's $3.1 million contract for next season. Drobnjak averaged 8.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in just over 20 minutes per game last season. Auction time Marvin Williams has been a Hawk for less than a week and already he's causing a stir in cyberspace. A Hawks draft cap and Hawks jersey signed by the No. 2 overall pick will be featured in an online auction (WNBA.com) on July 5. Summer camp The Hawks will conduct a three-day rookie/free agent camp at Philips Arena July 11-13 before heading to Salt Lake City for the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league July 15-22. An invitation has been extended to former Landmark Christian and Kentucky standout Randolph Morris, who was not drafted Tuesday night. Morris still has the option of returning to Kentucky, thanks to a seldom-used NCAA rule that allows student-athletes to enter a professional league's draft once without penalty, provided they haven't signed with an agent. Morris would have to pay for all his expenses for any workouts he participated in for NBA teams. And he'd also have to notify Kentucky athletics director Mitch Barnhart, in writing, of his intentions within 30 days of the June 28 draft.
  22. According to this article in todays USAToday we are only interested in Michael Redd, Kwame Brown, Larry Hughes, Eddy Curry, Bobby Simmons and Vladimir Radmanovic. Eddy Curry Chicago Bulls •What he does: Solid low-post scorer, but not much of a rebounder for his size. •Who's interested: Bulls, Hawks, Clippers, Sonics. •What it'll take to sign him: $6 million-$9 million, but Bulls can match any offer because he is a restricted free agent. Stromile Swift Memphis Grizzlies •What he does: Runs the floor; big-time shot blocker who can score. •Who's interested: Grizzlies, Boston Celtics, Bobcats, Lakers, Sonics. •What it'll take to sign him: $5 million-$7 million. 23. That was going to be my next point......Lets talk about JT and Dallas. This team was from my estimation a game away from playing in the Western Conference Championship and JT was very instrumental in this teams success. I think the differences between JT and Salim is that JT is sometimes a head case during important stretches of a game. He would have mental lapses during games that the Hawks couldn't continue to deal with. If you take those mental lapses and bone headed mistakes (dribble the ball of his leg with no pressure, not guarding the best shooter during crunch time, etc.) away from JT, he would be an absolute terror at the PG position because of one thing...he is an excellent shooter. I would be willing to bet Salim will not have those kind of mental lapses. No two people are exactly the same especially with the approach to the game. I think Salim is similar to JT without the mistakes which would be a good thing for Atlanta. With the 24 second clock you NEED a PG that can shoot, when thing break down. An even JT has played better with talent around him!!
  24. All of this is subject to your opinion. You think BK is doing a sorry job...that is your opinion and quite frankly you haven't had enough time with BKs team to make that kind of evaluation. Look what mess he inherited and look where we are going and the talent that we now have with spendable FA money. The future looks much much brighter since he has arrived. The problem with most of you all is you think this is an overnight rebuilding process.....it is not. We are not going to go from worst to 1st in a year. Again that is your opinion, but I am glad to know most Hawks fans see the excellent job BK has done and is continuing to do with this organization. Stay tuned!!
  25. Well you are in for a big surprise my friend.....BK (remember the guy who runs this team) has said numerous times today that Salim Stoudemire will be one of our Point Guards. Unless you are one of the owners (which I don't think your are), I don't think your word or anyone elses words that differ mean much.
