  1. I've never had the flu vaccination shot either, which is odd because I'm an educator and they're free at my school. But, it doesn't make sense to me to inject into your body the parts of the virus you're trying to avoid.
  2. I agree. JJ is the francise player. Dumb question....
  3. I don't feel Smoove puts stats before the team. He doesn't come off as a selfish player to me. If it's the poor shot selection thing, a lot of those are wide open and given to him. I don't see him "force" anything to a degree that it's obvious that's he's trying to score a ton of points.
  4. That's bold. Good to hear it's in the same discussion of his "classics" movies. Nice...
  5. I don't think the point of the question was who is the most talented or what not....I think it was impact on the entire team about chasing a ring. If Shaq can stay healthy (come post season time) after he misses 30 games for one reason or another, he will have the most impact of those four. Not so much in the regular season, but come playoff time, his presence will take Cleveland over the top of Orlando. The Cavs were exposed in the ECF by D. Howard....I think Cleveland addressed that issue just about the best they could....assuming again, old big man is healthy.
  6. X2. I don't like to think of this team without the All-Star. I like it much better with JJ on the team.
  7. Gamertag XB-Lve: Hawks24. luv to play NCAA10 vs.a Squawker

  8. Spielberg puts out quality stuff. I liked it a lot. Reminded me a little of Minority Report for some reason...another Spielberg gem. Prolly why... Shia LaBeouf is a funny person. The fact he worked for Disney all those years makes it even more hilarious. His interview in "Playboy" was classic. He and Brad Pitt need to hang out. They seem to have a lot of recreational activities in common.
  9. Doen't make you think you could go up there and throw it underhand and get three outs? Shades of Johnny Cueto giving up 9 ER in 2/3's vs. the Phills a month ago. I hate being a Reds fan. Now I can look forward to the Buckeyes winning 11 games but getting beat by USC and a SEC team in a bowl.
  10. That's what he just signed on to do!
  11. Pretty good? As compared to what Hawks off season in recent memory? Considering all the players Sund needed to address, I think this off season was great. Just going through what we've been going through for a decade, in comparison, this off season was awesome. Anyway, I think Joe Smith addressed the veteran grit you mentioned. With Bibby and Old Joe, we have some guys with experience. Added to that, we have JJ, who's no spring chicken...who's been here. Smoove is young, but not young as far as time in the league, and time with one team. Im not suggesting Joe, or Smoove, needs to step up as leader....my point is these young guys aren't young anymore. They shouldn't need as much vet presence for motivation.
  12. It's played. He's played. I hope Shaun Rogers dislocates his elbow in week one.
  13. Agreed. When you measure careers, talent, individual accomplishments, AI clearly has been a better player. But, now 2009-10, Mike Bibby is much more valuable to the Hawks looking at the whole landscape of the team. We have enough guys that can score, which what Iverson hangs his hat on. Bibby has been here, knows Woodson's style, and he has the full support of his younger teammates as someone to look up to and listen to. For two players winding down their careers, Bibby is much more sensible for trying to win games.
  14. Rafer Alston was brought over to start. Which he did, led them to the finals with the help of Anthony Johnson, then they both got screwed. To this day, I don't know why Jameer was brought back strictly for the finals. Terrible move by Orlando, should have stuck with Rafer and AJ - they were doing just fine. Flip going to Orlando will fill the void T. Lue had with them last year. Which is limited...good luck Flip.
  15. I agree. They're top 10 on paper, and probably on the court when all healthy. But they haven't been for 2 years...too much talk.
  16. Why not celebrate what he has done? Take away Crawford and Joe Smith, and it's still been productive. We haven't lost any key members of the team that has brought us some much needed change, Bibs, Marv, Zaza. Sure, the Crawford move may not work out like we all hope, but right now, it looks like a great move. Getting him for essentially nothing. Keeping the "core" guys while still trying to get better has been nothing but positive.
  17. I agree. I think giving any team a home field advantage in the finals of a sport because of an exhibition game is nuts. How about letting each team choose a charity, with the winner taking the majority...like 85% of the revenue generated during the all star weekend? Be meaningful, the players would play hard...makes more sense to me than dictating the Series...
  18. Good to know, thanks! I also like that he wants to be in Atlanta, being part of something "special"... Now we just need JJ to get extended and we're ready to roll!!!
  19. Sign him now, if it's possible. Eliminate the "contract year" distractions. Crawford is here to boost the scoring, no pressure off JJ..he can still be the man. Shows Horford their committment to winning next off season. There's nothing bad about giving JJ a 3/4 year deal right now. Do it!!! We ink JJ right now shows the players, fans, the league, we're ready to be in the mix the next few years. Especially with the FA's next summer....it would be huge!!!
  20. What are you asking? The same? Do I think Smoove vs. Beasley or Horf vs. Thompson will be a complete wash in favor of the Hawk? No. Will there be a bias, in reagards to the intial question of the thread? Yes. There will be a bias on any Hawk compared to a Non-Hawk on this board.
  21. Chicago got like, 8/9 games from TNT. We were 3-0 vs. them last year. Hmmm...we got one game. Something is off...
  22. Who wouldn't? Geesh?? Why not just throw LeBron in at the one and Bosh at the four....it would be just as likely to happen.
  23. Iverson would retire before heading overseas. He would bury an already tarnished legacy of a DAMN good NBA career.
  24. Woody's in a contract year after taking over a team with nothing, wins 13 games...then takes the Champs to 7 games, then locks up thew fourth best record in the East. And his reward, zilch. How can you not get an extension after last year? And what you've been through....Seriously? I'm indifferent on the coaching situation. None of it makes sense. I just think the whole situatuion is shady...
