  1. Age would factor in, good point. The window to get a championship, or in a few cases another championship, is closing. I don't see the trend were seeing so far this offseason stopping...guys ring chasing.
  2. Rio isn't an NBA caliber defender?
  3. That Magic won 10 more games than us last year as well all know, that's a ton. Adding VC will most likely keep them a lock to win our division. It's difficult to compare us personnel wise because the players on each team have different skills on the court. Comparing Dwight Howard to Al Horford, it's not even close. Dwight Howard is the best center in the game. Al Horford, isn't really a center. Josh Smith and Rashard Lewis are two totally different players as well. Saying, other than D.Howard and Horford, it's a wash between our teams is inaccurate. Their starting five, arguably, is the best in basketball. Four all-stars and throw in Pietrus, loaded. They'll fill out their bench 8-9 million trade exception from Hedo...
  4. I agree whole-heartedly how important Flip was to us last year...but to put it simply, there's just not enough minutes to go around in the back court with the addition of Crawford, the re-signing of Bibby, and drafting a PG. In addition to JJ's huge minutes and Marv (if we re-sign him).
  5. I sense a challenge coming on! (Not from me, I'm indfferent on BK)... This could be interesting.
  6. Strike that...nevermind. Sorry. @JCHILLIN2BUCKS Nope. Nothing done! We shall see in the next few days!!!!! I have about 5 days to make a decision about 5 hours ago from web in reply to JCHILLIN2BUCKS
  7. Chillz tweet... JChillin: Decisions, decisions......what's a guy to do? about 5 hours ago from TwitterBerry LOL. There's probably an offer on the table for him....
  8. I don't believe that in two years JJ will be chopped liver. In two years, Mike Bibby will be 33, a far cry from 36. Anyhow, I don't think you have much faith in the youth of the team. I'm not sure what the definition of a "real star" player is, but I do think we have guys that have the potential to be darn good players in the NBA. I don't need to list all of our young guys...it's given. But there's definetely talent and loads of potential. Not to mention what we could acquire in the draft between now and three years from, inclusing this year's draft.
  9. You're missing his point. Your post said "NO GM". He just debunked your statement.
  10. No one should feel that way. I feel sad for you. Far be it for me to offer any advice, you don't know me, but maybe go talk to someone, therapy could help???
  11. The post I responded to stated that there's not one legit argument that BK did anything good. Are you saying bringing JJ over here was bad for the Hawks?
  12. I'm with Atlantaholic on this one. He needs 4/5 year deal. We sign him short term and he continues to improve, we lose.....
  13. I thought the gap between our teams was significantly bigger last year. They did make the finals. But I don't think they have improved. It will be tough to match 57 wins next year, let alone a repeat to the finals.
  14. I disagree. Vince will be playing with three all-stars, all wanting their piece of the pie. I highly doubt he will average as many shot attempts or points as he did last year.
  15. Me too. If the guy comes out like gangbusters and proves his worth, Woodson better play him.
  16. I agree! Great news! Sund is doing something right if we get that donut to compliment us.
  17. Depends on who you ask. I've expressed my thoughts about Billy earlier in this thread. I'm just stating one could argue the point with bringing in an all-star.
  18. I don't know about that. He did bring us an all-star. I'd say that's legit.
  19. We're jumping the gun a little aren't we? Geesh, he's what...24? I don't think we need to concern ourselves with his athletic ability declining. He has plenty of time to improve his game before he loses his athletic ability.
  20. Look at it from an outsider, someone not a fan of the Hawks. Improvement every year. More National TV exposure, albeit small, playoffs the last two years. The exciting series with Boston, the 47 wins last year, second round this year. It's easy for us to say Woody needs to go because we watch all 82 games year in and year out. For the common fan, they're finally seeing the Hawks being relevant again with Woody as coach. Then we dump him? Sund would definetely take some heat from the media. In fact, I think we would be laughed at. To the common fan, it wouldn't make any sense.
  21. Bashing him is as well. There's no use crying over spilled milk. Here we are now heading into 09-10 with a capable roster due in large part to him. Do I wish the times with him would have been different? Of course! But here we are, with many of the players he brought here. He doesn't deserve a ton of praise, no, nor does he need to be degraded.
  22. My fault. Wrong year. Derron already left. Dee Brown was first team All American, Conference Player of the year when Williams was there.
  23. Really? News to me. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in conjunction with The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: HIG) announced today Dee Brown of Illinois is the winner of the 2006 Bob Cousy Award presented by The Hartford, an honor presented annually to the nation's top collegiate point guard. Mr. Brown was honored at a press conference today in Indianapolis, IN, site of the 2006 NCAA Men's Final Four.
