  1. We did. That is correct. Why people continue to debate this blows my mind? It's been four years. It's done. We will never have Chris Paul, move on! :beathorse:
  2. Or...saying, "I can't help but shoot because we pound the ball for 20 seconds then someone drives and gets doubled and I'm forced to shoot with one on the shot clock. Your lack of an offensive scheme hurts my game"... Oh wait, that's me.
  3. Losing Marvin hurts our defense. He usually draws the assignment of guarding the LeBron's, Wade's, and Kobe's when he is in the game. He is one of our better one-on-one defenders. It's hard to argue not having him hurts our defense on some level.
  4. I'm too lazy to research how many of those games we played without Marvin we're at home? Could skew the results seeing that we a different team at home. Kudos to our fans the last two games. Granted vs. teams that bring star power, but Phillips is bringing the playoff atmosphere...great to see.
  5. All good points. I'm not sure why we're a pick em' games, speakling of gambling...anyone want to wager on how many times we're going to read how stupid we were for passing on Chris Paul in the next 24 hours on this board? :beathorse: Ugh.
  6. I would say no, we weren't at our best. JJ had a really mediocre game. How could we be at our best when our best player struggled? Other people picked up the slack, but JJ is too important...if he's not at his best, the Hawks as a team aren't.
  7. It's not entirely Joe's fault he has to shoot so much. Is there anyone else on the team you want shooting that much when there is no offense in place? It starts with Woody, he has no clue or what he wants to do as far as a scheme offensively. Put an offense in, Joe's shots go down.
  8. Sometime young players need a kick in the as* to get back in gear. Smoove is still awfully young, although it doesn't seem like it. I know the team is better when each individual contributes to the team and plays to their individual strengths well. But, when Smoove is playing with energy on both ends of the floor, like last night, the Hawks are a scary team. JJ did not play well at all last night. Most times when he is off, we lose. Few players on this team can carry us when JJ is off. Smoove is one. His impact on this team is apparent.
  9. LOL. Yes, welcome! And most of the time it will appear like this, however, you won't find a group of people that are bigger fans. If I had to guess, this is where the biggest Hawks fans in the country vent and praise.
  10. Considering we stopped the Pistons streak, Smoove played his *ss off, we protected our home court, and we played 1000% better than we have the last two games....what's silly about it? We lose this game, our team might just have packed it in the rest of the year. I think this rejuvenates the Hawks, and we may look back at this win as the most important of the season. Not every game is the biggest of the season. There are 82 games. How can each one have equal importance? They don't. This was HUGE for Atlanta.
  11. It was a francise record for FG % for the Bobcats in one quarter.
  12. 1. With our horrendous play of late. 2. With Smoove being in the line-up after the "altercation" last night. 3. With Miami 1/2 game back of the position we've held for a good portion of the year - 4 spot. 4. With us playing a team that has won four in a row and also creeping on the Hawks in the standings - Detroit. 5. With us playing at home, where we definetly play better. Is this the most important game of the 2008-2009 season thusfar?
  13. If the AJC reports that he is in the line-up, that should lay to rest any thought that Smoove touched him.
  14. I would say that is accurate. I would add that many of those players like Woody as a person, but don't respect him as a coach. How could you respect a coach that obviously struggles with the game when the lights come on? JJ probably does like getting his numbered called on every play, but even that has to wear on him! He has to get tired of shooting or creating for someone else everytime down the floor...
  15. Anything that doesn't involve JJ pounding the ball for 18 seconds 28 feet from the basket. Woody's use of timeout's are terrible. The time-out's are simply used to stop the clock. He does no coaching! It was apparent last night. Stop the clock, and run an iso play after a TO. How about a little basketball knowledge and draw up a play, set a backscreen, ball screen, maybe make another pass than the one in bounds...sumthin!! My highest coaching experience was at the high school level, but I honestly think I have a higher basketball IQ than Woody does. And that's really sad....
  16. Damn, that's deep. I don't like using our ultimate demise as an anology of the Hawks current season, because I don't feel we have "died" yet. I would think the 13 win season a few years back would be more appropriate. Anyway, let's not give up hope. The fact remains this is one of the better years we've had in a long time, and as I fan, I'm enjoying it. Do I think we could be better? Of course. Does Woody drive me nuts? Yup. But we have a big game tonight and I'm hoping we come out ready to play!
  17. I agree. Woodson needs to go, but the fact is, he's not. Sund is not going to get rid of him at this point in the season. We have less than a 1/4 of the season left, and sitting, albeit slim , with home court advantage in the playoffs. Not many people on this board are going to like what I'm about to write but if the Hawks finish .500 these last 20 games or so (44-38) and are fortunate enough go 7 games in the first round or win a forst round series....Woody is getting an extension. I think the chances of him staying put are greater than him being gone next year.
  18. So basically, you're saying you are going to root against the Hawks in the playoffs? A place they've only been, what twice in the last decade? You must be, because, if the Hawks win a playoff series.... I'm sorry to tell you, Woodson ain't going anywhere. More than likely, he'll get extended. So you might as well not be a fan anymore. I think Woodson needs improvement, obviously.. But I've also came to realization he's the coach, and will be for the forseeable future.
  19. Of course we can win a playoff series. Will we? Remains to be seen. That's why they play the games. Just like any other playoff series, it's all about match-ups and who's goes into the playoffs hot. Boston doesn't want to play Atlanta because were young, athletic and a match up problem defensively.
  20. C'mon dude, seriously. You want us to lose at this point in the season? Doesn't make any sense. I can understand if we weren't going to make the playoffs and tanking it to get Woodson outta here, but were a four seed right now. Sorry, I think that's a dumb statement coming from a fan. I want Woodson out as much as anyone, but I'm not wishing we lose. But, to each his own...
  21. That's the type of thread I'm talking about! It is a "dream"...but wow, how cool. Uhh...reading that, just like George Costanza, "I think it moved.."
  22. Unfortunately, No. Although I would LOVE to have a say in the decision making process the Hawks francise makes...if I had 70 million dollars in the bank, I would not add that kinda of stress or commitment to the Hawks. I would, however, buy the best suite in Phillips....party there every home game I could with friends when I get to when I'm not traveling the world, making wise investments so my family can live off my lucky fortune, or lounging in my movie theater basement.
