  1. Another good win for us! The first quarter had me worried but we came back again. Winning is great but we can't keep starting like that.

Defense was great, Teague was awesome and Mack is still playing for the Hawks. I love Mack but that was pretty painful to watch. They need to try and put together a 48 minute effort this weekend against Toronto and Memphis.

Mack scoring very well but that's about it.

Boston looks like we did last year if you take out the magical January: total team trust, toughness, well-defined roles, good health, and a dreadlocked SF as the glue.   Them boys gonna make some noise.

I know a lot of people don't like Ainge, but dude is killing it.  Current third seed with a middling payroll, value contracts everywhere with tens of millions coming off the next few years, a young coaching prodigy, and a projected 4th overall pick this summer.  Damn.

Man, our play has been frustrating at times this year but that Brooklyn pick has been killing me. We tracked it so much here and now Boston is going to be the one to get the high pick? Damn indeed.

For me it's not so much him being a consistent 3 pt shooter.  It's the threat of him having a 3pt shot.  I don't just want him launchng at every opportunity.  Al's advantage is his quickness against centers when he's out at the 3 point line.  He can easily fake the 3 and get to the rim - that's what I would like to see more of.

If Al can give us AT LEAST 8 rebounds consistently, he can take as many 3's as he wants.  Don't want his 3 rebound nights.

Spot on. There should never be a night where Al has more three point attempts than rebounds. I haven't gone through the stats but I bet that has happened a couple times this year.

What ya'll think about Splitter and a 1st for Pau Gasol?

I'd be thrilled for somebody to take Splitter off of our hands, especially if we received a healthy C or SF. Between his play and health he has been a huge disappointment. I don't think Chicago would do this trade though.

He's a hustle guy, he doesn't play real defense.  Just waves his hands and acts all crazy, gets himself out of position and sometimes something good happens.  Most times not.

He's a much improved player but it's pitiful to see stuff like that. Man up and play some D. Don't flop, don't look for a foul and don't look like the refs are clueless when they don't fall for it.

Plays like that define a lot our our loses this year. Guys looking at the refs and wondering why things aren't going our way.

meeeeaahhhh. I still think they should move the stadium. Move it to the perimeter area.  The area near Campbellton Road, Camp Creek area on the perimeter, off 285 is another area that would work.   Wide open space, near the airport.   Hawks should move out there. Its growing fast.  Wouldve been another perfect spot for Blank also.

Its still in Fulton county, so the politics of losing a team wouldve been negated in both cases.   The problem is the World Congress Center wants to be the center of attention with everything.

To me, the Braves move to Cobb isn't a big deal. Some people act like they are putting the stadium next to Kennesaw Mountain. The location is just outside of Atlanta. Once I pass 285 going south I pretty much assume I'm in Atlanta anyways. Turner field was in a bad location. The Hawks have a good downtown location so I think staying put and investing in Phillips is a very wise decision.

  7. Yeah, it's philly but keep in mind they lost by 3 to GS their last game. We have seen their worst but I'll take it. Philly also beat Phoenix which is something we couldn't do. Biggest takeaway is how we beat them, we looked good and confident.

Edy is the man, I think he's going to be pretty good. I'd also be thrilled if we can get rid of Splitter for some wing depth (or anything that isn't Splitter).

Nothing BOS has qualifies as 'talent' that should be stockpiled.  Those trades are essentially gifting BOS a better team than ours.  Now, I realize in every trade you can't necessarily care about what you're giving the partner.  It's supposed to be about what team you're left with after the fact.  I'm of the opinion that the team we'd end up with would basically be less than a treadmill team with nothing to build on.

The Barves' 'rebuild' is apples-to-oranges IMHO due to the significant differences between how ML vs NBA teams build winners.  You can end up with the 'little engine that could' and win in ML, not so in the NBA.

I'm also of the opinion that the staff cannot build a guy into a star.  Either a guy is or he isn't. (Baze has had a few great games but he's not near a star and is in the middle of a bigtime return to Earth).

My idea is to stand pat.  Trade only if an offer comes that knocks their socks off.  Plan on improving the team through the draft.  I'm not big on Al but I also don't think maxing him out would be that punitive (for lack of a better phrase) considering the supposed new economics of the NBA.  I don't think any realistic move we could make now would help us in the present or future.

Agree with all of this. You can nevvver compare the MLB to the NBA. You draft a guy in the NBA and if he's a high first round pick he becomes (hopefully) part of your rotation next year. Baseball has so many minor league teams, you don't even care to keep up with the draft. Stockpiling talent in baseball is so you can usually flip 3 prospects for one good pro. You don't see that stuff in the NBA.

I'm all for trading Horford and Teague if we get a player of their caliber or better (either both together or separate). I'm not interested in trading an all-star for a bunch of Bazemore/Splitter types. We need a difference maker, not more guys who "might possibly" become good.
