I'm still trying to figure out how the topic title relates to the thread.....

Did you confuse naming the title of this thread with your address bar in your browser?  Haha!  I think I may be onto something.

At least the OP put in a sports website lol. Still, I didn't expect this.

Now splitter hurt.   I think teague/korver/thabo/sap/horf is our best lineup.     Maybe teague/baze/thabo/sap/horf is worth a try too.

I've been thinking a lot recently that the second lineup might be worth trying. Korver could still finish games instead of Baze if  he is playing as well as he did last night.

45 wins.....first round exit. This team won 60 games last season, and got exposed. Barkley is right. No legit paint game, no chip. I fell asleep on the game last night. Who cares about these empty wins in the regular season? The hawks are the braves 2.0. Regular season champs, post season flops... .

Are you really trying to compare the Hawks to a team that has not won a playoff series  since 2001? During our current playoff run there were many years when we advanced past the first round and in the second year of the Bud era we advanced to the ECF.

  4. What a joke. They really want to try and spin it to make it seem like Bud was out to hurt someone. Such a dangerous job they have--being next to all of these coaches. Maybe if they learned how to be consistent and fair with their calls there wouldn't be a need to be kept "safe".

  5. I think I read somewhere that we will play almost 25% of our games by the end of this month. When you also consider we have so many guys coming back from injury and new games trying to fit in, it feels like the NBA really wanted to bury us. Just keep winning!

  6. We will miss him this year, but he seems to be taking and missing a lot of shots. I haven't seen any Toronto games yet so I'm not sure if he is forcing the issue or just missing open looks? He shot 8/16 against Boston, but his other lines have looked like 5/14, 5/13, 1/8 and 4/13. He brings a lot more than offense but his efficient offense with us is one of the biggest reasons he was so valuable.

  7. We looked so much better and if I had to pick one of the first two to games to win, it would have been the one on TNT. That ESPN game preview talking about now the Knicks have closed the gap between on us after ONE game was so stupid.

Our offense looked like the Hawks offense we are used to. The defense looked like the Hawks defense we are used to. Play like that every night and we win 57 games.

Again, Al shooting 3's on offense has didly squat to do with his ability to get DEFENSIVE rebounds or box out consistently.

I know it's one game but I screamed myself hoarse at the game yelling REBOUND, REBOUND - I don't want to spend the season screaming REBOUND.

Al's a professional, he won't not play hard to save himself from injury.

Exactly, nobody on our team is going to get a lot of offensive boards. It's a mix of spacing, talent and coaching but that's how we are.

Bud might preach get back on D to us, but there is no way he wants the other team getting multiple offensive boards. Offensively, it seems like we are one and done a lot--while other teams get 2 to even 5 opportunities against us. Rebound the ball, Hawks..

Rebounding is going to have to be a team effort.  It could work. Look at the Heat when they were winning titles. Bosh, a traditional big man extended his range.

The thing is since the PG an

They also had LeBron too. I do agree with the team effort idea. I'm a huge Horford fan and don't expect 10 rebounds a game but he really needs to give us 7/8 a game.

I think Detroit is going to be improved this year but not at our level yet I hope.

The Auburn Hills Pistons are in good hands with SVG. They could sneak into the playoffs as an 7/8th seed possibly this year. He was my choice before Bud when we were looking to replace LD. I'm glad it worked out the way it did though.

  11. I'm going with 56 wins, maybe 58 if we are actually in a race for a top 3 spot in the East. I don't envision us wrapping up the top spot so early this year.

The longest winning streak will be 12 games.

We could start slow again this year if Bud messes around with lineups and guys struggle offensively trying to fit the new guys in. I don't think we peaked in January last year but they played SO hard when they did play, it seemed like we exhausted so much energy and effort to keep that streak going. Last year seemed to have a focus on showing the world we can compete in the East. Everyone knows we are legitimate now, so the focus turns to staying healthy and being at our best come playoff time.

  12. Will Junior become a good NBA player or will he become a mistake by Bud?

I think he will be a big part of the rotation at some point. He's struggled with his shot in preseason but it could just be a combination of trying to fit in, build confidence and just thinking too much.

He needs to get used to playing off the ball and keep on working on his defense. Once he gets his shot back I think we will work him into the rotation. As far as how many minutes he plays from there, that will be how well he does defensively.

  13. Thanks again to @JETSET for the tickets, great seats. The first quarter was awesome to watch! The second quarter not so much. It was a good preseason game though, the crowd was into it late.

    A few thoughts...

Bazemore looked really good out there, I hope he can take advantage of being our starting SF. I was a little bummed to not see Tavares get any minutes. Splitter couldn't buy a bucket but I think he will fit in sooner than later. Horford shot 5 three pointers--more than anyone on our team. I know he is trying to get comfortable and gain confidence in preseason, but he should never lead our team in that category. The unis did look good but as others have said, it was hard to see the numbers on the jerseys.

I am just happy it's almost time to kick the season off!
