  1. LeBron is just completely controlling the pace of these games. Even if they miss a shot it seems they get a second chance.

I think he has more impact when he isn't sharing the ball with 2 other superstars. I think they could really use Irving this series and moving forward, but they are a better team without Love. LeBron will just waste too much time trying to get him going. A guy like Thompson will play hard and not expect any shots, just get you more shots.

  2. I can't imagine what players were actually shooting threes against him, so I don't care much about that stat. The stat about screen setting is good stuff though. I'm not a huge Antić fan but I do appreciate some of the "off the stat sheet" things he provides us.

  3. For all of you cap experts out there, tell me if this is possible? Can we first sign Gasol to a max-ish deal, then go over the cap to sign Millsap (assuming he is on board with this) and then trade Horford to upgrade the SF/SG position?

Horford is my favorite player and I don't want to see him gone, I'm just thinking of ways to improve the team. Gasol/Sap is still a good front court, and it seems DMC is probably a goner.

  4. Good 'Burbs (low crime/top schools): Vinings, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Milton, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Cumming, Buford, Suwanee, Newnan, Peachtree City.

Avoid (higher crime/iffy schools): Douglasville, Chamblee, Doraville, Norcross, Lawrenceville, Stone Mountain, Lithonia, College Park, Jonesboro, Morrow, McDonough, Fairburn.

Somewhere in Between: Marietta, Roswell, Duluth, Gainesville, Tucker, Smyrna, Acworth

I'm probably stepping on some toes with this list. Just trying to answer your question about crime/schools as honestly as possible ;)

Just adding on to this, the somewhere in between categories have good areas. Acworth borders Kennesaw and there is some good housing out there, but it also ventures out into trailer park land. Not that those little guys aren't cozy or anything..

Same can be said for Marietta. Nathan said above, if you find these two cities in Cobb you are probably in a good area. I can't speak much of living in the city but the suburbs offer good housing for very affordable prices. Any search of Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton should yield good results.

  5. I don't like the idea of Bud calling the shot on players; I think coaches are often to close to players to be objective. First thing he says is I want everyone back.

A GM would say we are going to evaluate the seasons film and figure out how we can get better. I like our team, but we've got to figure out how to get better through all avenues.

I'm not a fan of what it does to the player coach relationship. If Bud has the final say on playing time and who comes and goes he's always the bad guy when an unpopular decision has to be made.

Yeah I agree, it's too much for a guy who is a players coach. A young coach on top of that.

Either way, he HAS to be our coach for a long long time.

  6. Somebody said it earlier, but the real goal is to have a GM that Bud wants to work with. Our real priority is to make sure he remains head coach for the next 5 years. I fully support Ferry but who knows what he wants? He might want a fresh start too.

I assume and hope that our new owners are smart enough to make sure we hire a GM that has a similar vision as Bud. Keeping Bud around is all that matters to me.

  7. Maybe Teague. Scott. Antić. A Draft Pick. Another piece.

To Detroit for Jennings and Monroe? Maybe Detroit bites? Reggie Jackson looks like the guy goin forward there in Detroit and Monroe clearly wants out.

I follow the Pistons somewhat because I'm up here, I'd hate to see Brandon Jennings as a Hawk. Monroe isn't restricted so we can just sign him without worrying about the Pistons matching. Even if you were thinking sign and trade I'm not sure why or how we would do that deal.

  8. I hate to say it but having both Teague and Dennis is a luxury. It may be time to trade Jeff and stick with the cheaper option . Letting Dennis run the team gets him playoff ready and clears cahs off the books where we can get a bog center in return.

I'm a big Schröder fan but I don't think this is the year we get rid of Teague and let him start. Teague is one of the best bargains in the league and seems to fit more into our "move the ball" offense . Schröder is a great passer and driver, but I don't think he has learned how to run our offense--yet. Being able to make a great pass and knowing when to pass are two separate things.

  9. I wonder whether Monta Ellis will be a FA this summer. He is high maintenance but he can surely score/

I don't think he is and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but he was a pretty hot name for us during the second summer of Ferry.

  10. As for Shump, I watched him shoot a lot and miss a lot for 3 seasons at GT. In his defense, there were times he was the primary ball handler. So you did have some poor ISO, Paul Hewitt clogged toilet offense jumpers mixed in there. Still though, he missed a lot of wide open looks.

His defense wasn't surprising but between those years and his struggles in NY I was really surprised he shot so well.

  11. I love Millsap but I'm willing to let him walk if that means we can grab a good C and let Horford play PF. I'm not opposed to bringing him back at all, I just believe the easiest and most productive change of our starting 5 is that. You also want to consider using Korver as a 6th man to keep his minutes down.

Plus, this group will continue to improve (with or without Sap). We have Edy coming over, the 15th pick, Schröder has another year under his belt, the players/coaches finally got some good playoff experience, DMC keeps improving, we have new owners and the cap increases soon.

I could keep building on that list too. The season ended poorly but it was a great season and we are trending up.
