  1. No he wasn't. There were major questions about his ability to score and his ability to withstand the pounding he has to take at his generously listed 220 lbs. So far in 2 seasons he's played 60 and 66 games.

Now, he's a far superior offensive player than many expected but he wasn't a can't miss prospect.

Dolf is right in this argument. Davis has wound up being much much better than many of us expected. He wasn't a can't miss #1 guy when he came out of college.

  2. I'm one of the biggest Horford fans on this site. That said, I'd trade him for the #1 pick without hesitation. I wouldn't give up anything else unless it was to benefit us salary wise or talent wise.

Horford is a legitimate all star but he also has his injury concerns. I'm not sure if I would take Embiid because of his injury concerns, but I'd understand it if we did. Obviously our guys have advanced scouting reports on the big three so I trust their judgment.

  3. I go back and forth on Lance a lot..but at the end of the day I don't want him. If you give him Horford's attitude I would be all over signing him. He's talented but I don't think he is worth the risk.

Plus, I get annoyed when he just palms the ball and dribbles into a bad shot. The crowd always gets so excited that he can hold the ball and move it around in the air.

  4. I don't see how you can judge either draft yet.

Jenkins had a good rookie year for player selected in the 20's. He should fit perfectly in Coach Bud's system when healthy. The back surgery made him miss year 2. Any reasonable person would grade that as an incomplete.

Schröder was drafted as a 19 year old PG. Grading him after one season is simply "dumb"...............for lack of a better word.

BeBe played in Spain last year and was only 20 year old. Grading him before he has played an NBA game is simply "dumb"........for lack of a better word.

Coachx has it right. Even more so when you consider we had the option of keeping these guys over seas to keep cap space available for CP3/Dwight.

  5. Schröder for 8 is a no brainer to me. I'm in the camp that thinks that he is very talented and hasn't reached his potential, but I feel we are okay with Teague and Mack.

Give us the #8 and #15 picks and it gives us flexibility to move up or to make trades. We can even keep the picks and wind up with our 2 highest picks since we drafted Horford.

I'd never trade Schröder and 15 for 8 unless the guy we absolutely want is sitting there and SAC is willing to trade the pick plus another asset.

As for this draft class..it is a good one but not as good as most thought. There are plenty good players but I don't see anyone that is a clear number one pick that would change your franchise into a true contendor.

  6. I don't know if we know what our offense truly is. I mean, people saw us against Indy and thought that this makeshift offense was all that we had. Here's the truth. When Horf comes back, we have high post pick and roll with Horf and Teague. A true big man to crash the boards and set secondary picks. And a set of shooters in Korver and Sap.. The other thing is that it would definitely sure up our defense.

Don't let bad coaching/Chemistry make you misjudge a player. Moreover, it's the playoffs. The worst place to judge.

I'm not only judging him based on his previous playoff series. I just don't think he is worth the money he is going to receive next year.

  7. The question is where does that take us. This round we built our way to a first round exit. What is next year's trajectory? I still see us as falling short of contender status and short of the ECF. After next year there will likely be a lot of turnover and/or free agents, Sap will definitely cost a lot more. Coming into this season that core looked like a second round cap to me.

Put Horford in the lineup and who is better than us today? Miami is better..but they are the defending champs. We would beat Indiana and I'd imagine we would beat Washington as well.

I fully recognize the fact that we could use a lot more talent, but being in the East we seem to be in good shape. Teams will improve but we have heard about an improving East for many years now. I honestly don't see any team on the verge of breaking through other than Washington.

I'm not advocating us staying put, I just kind of like our chances to be #2 in the East with the current roster (will Miami still have LeBron next year?). Obviously the ECF isn't the goal..but I think Ferry and Bud want to be better than that too.

  8. We haven't built anywhere close to a contender since Nique was here and even then, they didn't. They just had Nique. We need someone who can put us over the top. We shot 44 three pointers in Game 7. You can't win like that man.[/quote

    This is true..

But we are in year one of Ferry and Bud. This team did more than most of our higher seeded playoff teams these last few years.

This is the begging of this run.

  9. You do know things about basketball supes..some of your talent evaluation posts are spot on.

That said, you are all over the place with the Hawks. Disguising yourself as Leadership, dropping more posts than I have in 7 years in like 3 weeks about how much you love Ferry..then becoming a Hornets fan.

Fast forward, you start hating the Hawks again, then really hating the Hawks. Just be consistent. Most of us know what we need to do to improve. Most of us are proud because we actually have a good coach and GM in place.

I'm not happy we lost but I can see that our future is bright.

  10. I was kind of hoping George would be suspended, but after going back and forth on it all day I'm glad this is the outcome. If we win game 7 in Indy I don't want to hear any excuses.

  11. If our 3-pt shooting is money, Crawford won't be doing much other than running up and down the sideline pounding his pacer.

I hope so! We might see some phantom moving screen calls and some no calls on Indy fouling our shooters.
