  1. @cam1218 Bud changed the offense and didnt allow him to attack. Lol. Coaches have to put confidence into their players all the time. Thats what makes NBA coaches and other sports coaches so special. The game is 85% mental and a bad performance by a player can weigh heavily on him.Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

I understand the importance of developing players confidence. Teague was tired and had to come out. I wish he could have kept playing too. He came back in and wasn't effective.Back to the confidence thing..Teague doesn't have much of it to begin with. He played well and that didn't continue when he returned. We can't baby him, he's not a rookie.I know you are a Teague fan, I'd consider myself one too. I can see why he is struggling with our current roster..but the guy has to stop being so mentally fragile. He has a great opportunity to become a leader with all three injuries and all that has come out of it is trade rumors.

  2. Just ignore the cumulative effect of injuries piling up.

Seriously. It's like people think that this current roster is the team that won us all of these game. That this is the team Ferry built during the offseason. We had a good team before we lost our best player and all of his back ups. We've also lost DMC and Korver to multiple games. We were going to wind up overachieving with a healthy roster. I was okay with that because it meant Bud was a good hire.Even now, you have us under 500 and in the playoffs. Do you think Ferry saw the entire East being awful? We should be competing for a lottery pick after these injuries, not a low playoff seed. He can't control the fact that we are less talented but more successful than over half of the East. Should we fire our coach?

  3. Teagues conditioned well enough to withstand those added minutes. Who are you the conditioning coach?

Mack was going to play at some point, it's not like Teague was playing the rest of the game. Even when Teague came back in he didn't play well. Teague is a grown man. Bud shouldn't have to constantly worry about making sure he is always confident, it's not like he is raising a puppy.
  4. Well it seems to me that the entire team is playing like garbage these past months. But of course people have their agendas. Hey, at least Kyle Korver continued the streak but nevermind his poor play these past couple months. Paul Milsap has jumped off the Allstar break cliff but no one has pointed that out. Scott and Mack are playing horribly lately. Ayón and Lou should be restricted to toilet bowl duty. How about keying in on these guys instead of a player that has someone kept his numbers the same since Horford left. So I don't really need to hear more of your negative Teague arguments. No offense.

The entire team has played like garbage for the last 5 games, not 'these past months'.Just going through your post and the players you call out..Millsap has struggled some recently. He was injured early in the year, maybe he has just hit a wall? Despite his struggles he is an all star.Scott is a role player and he isn't an issue, he has been great for us. Mack has been playing smart ball, he is also a guy that came into camp competing with Ivey for #3 pg.Ayón should be playing after Horf/Sap/Brand/Antić. He's being forced into minutes, so how can you blame him?Lou is awful, no denying that.I'm a Teague fan. I understand that he has lost key players this year. I think he can be a really good PG, but he needs to grow up. He's at a point in his career where he needs to realize that and become more of a leader. He has been awful recently and we are going to keep losing if we don't get anything from him or Lou.

  5. I don't know if exposed is the right word. I had no expectations of this team to begin with. I feel that they were playing over their heads if anything at all.

I was thinking that exposed isn't the right word too. We are just really struggling right now. You're right about the team playing over their heads too, especially with the injuries we have suffered.
  6. Not having Horford has really hurt Teague. He doesn't have as much space to drive into the lane with guys like Ayón clogging it up. He's not getting fouls called when he does drive and his floater isn't falling. It also isn't helping him that he can't hit an outside shot to save his life. He is a one trick pony right now.

He's been awful to watch these past couple of weeks (maybe even longer). I know he is better than this but I don't know how much more I can take.

I've always said my biggest issue with him is how he carries himself on the court. He seems to have a lot of Josh Smith in him. I could stand to watch him struggle a little more if it seemed like he was out there hustling, working hard and maintaining a positive attitude. His moping around isn't doing himself or his teammates any favors.

  7. This makes no sense because the more we play him, the less tradable he becomes! Plus we will lose more games like last night by playing him over someone who can actually help the team win now and in the future

Unfortunately, he isn't getting better but the only way to have his play return to where it was before surgery is for him to get minutes. At some point they are going to have to give up on the dream of seeing that player again.
  8. This team was already decent. They've been decent for 5-7 years. The Spurs are nothing without Tim Duncan. The "new" direction looks to me like it will lead to the same results to me.

Decent at their peak. We are "decent" just getting started. The Spurs have won a lot of games with their bench. They always play right..guys like Duncan get them multiple championships, but they aren't just nothing. How do you see same results?

  9. Lou was really good for us last year before his injury. I think it's obvious they feel that he can only get better if he keeps playing. Lou getting better makes him more tradable and helps us in the long run if we keep him.I hate seeing him play too..hopefully he improves and we get decent value for him or we just give up and let him get his game back with somebody like the Pistons.

  10. All he does is stand in the way of the team getting a player that might actually help them reach the next level one day. I can't get mad at this franchise as often as I used to, but sometimes it still pisses me off that the team is just happy with making the playoffs. And that's al Danny Ferry is trying to do. You're right though... Sap is a 3rd or 4th option. He shouldn't be an all star and he should get traded... Well, it's too late now this year. This team has NOTHING but a young PG that makes a nice pass every once and a while and a backup SF/PF tweener.

NOTHING but a young PG isn't true. Our coach has done a great job with this team and he is a rookie coach. Ferry wanted to get the basketball right and with Bud we are.I don't think Millsap is standing in the way of us getting that special player. I don't watch a lot of college hoops, but I don't see any guy that is an obvious #1 pick that we are missing out on. There is a lot of talent..and I'm not opposed to tanking, but I don't feel we are missing out on something special.Ferry made our team decent and flexible. He had a rookie coach and didn't want to give him total crap, Bud was an investment too. We have just overachieved this year, and the basketball has been much better than what we had to watch under LD/Woody.We should be a 6-8 seed in the east with the ability to tank if we decided to trade our good contracts. The east being so bad isn't our GM's fault. I don't think we could tank right now even if we tried. We aren't that talented but we still win (coaching).Having that system makes me okay with this seasons results. We aren't good because we have a great team, we compete because we have guys that know how to run a team and players that play hard . The spurs east reference didn't come from this message board. You can be mad..I don't blame you with what our organization has been through. If you can't enjoy THIS team and our new direction though, you might as well give up and stop posting your negative rants.
  11. I don't see how you can grade either drafts with a F?Mike Scott has been a great 2nd round pick, and Jenkins has been hurt. He'd fit right in though if we was healthy. Plus, Ferry wasn't even here until right before the draft. We seemed to use last years draft with picks we want to develop. That was the first draft that Ferry had with his scouting department.I don't think we should expect to see instant results with the rookies. Schröder is improving and I hope that Bebe can get healthy (I can see concerns on him).We are building for the future..the wins now are only coming because we have a great coach.
