  1. The Braves and Falcons have support? During the playoffs, yeah..I love ALL teams equally, but the Braves haven't won a series since 2001. Falcons finally won their first playoff game last year.It is just ATL and a mix of how the NBA is marketed. We don't have anyone that makes you excited.

  2. A lot of Lakers fans I have talked to have been unimpressed with Dwight. I guess the team has put so much into him so they must resign him, but do they really want him back? It doesn't seem like he is a good fit.Get a guy like PJ involved here and I could see guys coming here. He is our wildcard, the guy that will help Ferry turn us around. I have told those same Laker fans that PJ is a great coach but I'd take Pop 24/7. Phil has had guys like Shaq, Kobe and MJ for most of his career. Want to prove you are the best ever? Step into a situation like ours and build a winner.Atlanta isn't a bad spot, we just have poor support. It can be done and I hope that there are players/coaches that will not take an easy way out and accept a challenge of making ATL relevant. There is a lot to lose, but legacy wise, so much to gain.

  3. Look at Milwaukee right now. UP by 9 over the Heat. They had a good gameplan in Game 2, by attacking the paint with their big men, and having Jennings and Ellis scale back on their machine gun ways as shooters. But as soon as the Heat took the lead, Jennings went in to "gun mode" and shot them out of the game. Now, both Jennings and Ellis already have 6 assists, despite only having 5 points on 6 shot attempts between them. But they're continuing to attack on the inside, and lo and behold, Dunleavy and Redick decide to show up tonight as shooters. The Hawks need to go BIG, either by starting Petro or Ivan. Put Josh down on the block vs George and make him defend Josh down there. Bring Korver off the bench with the 2nd unit, to see if he can get hot vs a more favorable matchup for him ( if George goes out of the game ). But as long as Larry believes that small ball will win it for us, we're not winning anything.

Yup, we HAVE to go big and we HAVE to stay out of foul trouble. Can't afford to have Josh and Ivan ride the bench because of fouls. Also can't have KK matched up on George.

  4. They are the better team but we aren't as bad as the score has made it seem. Last years series with Boston was probably tougher and we played much better.I understood Drew sitting our players at the end of the year. You look back though and see we haven't had a lot of winning recently. I think our guys just need to get a win and we will go from there. They need to see and feel some success. Lose at home and it is over...but we can also turn it around on Sat night.

  5. paulderonkyrieroseparkerlillardcurrywalllawsonholiday are better offensively

The first 8 for sure. I gave Teague a top ten, but it is because he is between 8-10. I haven't seen enough good play from Jrue and Ty to put them bellow Teague. I feel that they are all close though and this whole thing is very debatable.
  6. What's sad to see is Paul Georgia getting superstar treatment: 3-13 for 23 points. Not blaming the refs for the sorry play from 98% of our players (only players who played well were Horford and I van. Teague didn't play to bad, but when he was starting to catch fire, LD took him out), but refs taking us out of the game early hurt us. Missing the very FTs we had was also huge. Zaza would have been huge for us, but unfortunately we can not rely on him to get the rebounds. I say we start with Teague, Harris, Smoove, Ivan, & Horford. Put Korver in when George is out.

If Josh is going to play like a 3 you might as well put him there. I'm good with that lineup. Having either Korver or Harris on the bench helps our depth.People keep talking about Zaza but he has been MIA since the end of last season. He has dropped in for a couple nice games, but I'm surprised that him being out is a surprise to everyone.
  7. A loss is a loss. We beat Boston game one last year...We know what we got to do now. They scored a quarter worth of points at the free throw line. Josh needs to grow up though. His lack of effort and stupid play must stop. The odds of it happening are slim, but if he wants money he has to have some type of self realization moment. Watch the tape man, you are killing us!

  8. Lou really isn't that great. The team was only 22-17 with him in the line up

He is probably our best player after Horford/Josh/Teague though. Being the 4th best player on the Hawks isn't something to brag about, but we did miss his scoring. I bet we would have been a top 4 team in the East with Lou. It all worked out well though, I'm happy with the matchup and our picks.
  9. David West is usually tough against the Hawks from what I remember.... And looking at the stats, it seems to be true. This season he averaged 21PPG on 53% shooting... And I think DW has played well against the Hawks in seasons past also. The scary thing is that if you look at George, West, Hill or Hibbert.... The Hawks didn't stop any of them. Team vs. team.... It's tough to see where the Hawks advantages are. Maybe Teague has a huge series. I think Teague and Josh really have to outplay Hill and West. I don't think we can count on Korver/Stevenson outplaying George/Lance Stephenson. ZaZa is a loss in this series... A bigger loss than Lou Williams to be honest. ZaZa averaged 11 points and 14 rebounds in the two wins against Indiana. Ivan isn't the rebounder off the bench that ZaZa is. Tough loss.

Zaza and Lou going down had a lot to do with our record after we started 20-10. Zaza didn't play in the playoffs last year either. I love the dude, but he has constantly been injured it seems since he logged all of those minutes after Horford got hurt last year.
  10. I don't think Woodson is a horrible coach but I do not see how any Hawks fan can try to defend the guy. Does anybody remember the Milwaukee/Orlando playoffs? Or the memories of always getting swept out of the second round? It wasn't just us losing, it was all about how we lost and looked completely overmatched. His success in NY is because he has the leading scorer in the NBA. Remember the whole "this sh** works" deal? No offense is needed, just play good D and see what happens. And for the turnovers, when you tell your guys to dribble out the clock and shoot, you aren't going to see the ball go into their other teams hand.

  11. We weren't going to get homecourt after Lou went down so we basically wound up with the best situation possible.

We get two good picks after Chi/ATL/Hou lost on the last day of the season. We have a favorable first round matchup and avoid the Heat in the second round if we beat the Pacers.

For a rebuilding season, I'm very very happy.
