  1. Not saying anything (which is what I always say before saying something) but the four games sans Joshua so far this year: 9-point win at Oklahoma City9-point win vs Indiana14-point win vs Brooklyn4-point win vs Lakers ~lw3

Hawks are at their best when we have Josh playing, and Josh playing to his strengths. I'd even say we are a top three team in the East when it happens. He hurts us a lot with his poor play. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough for it to be an issue. So to me, it isn't a surprise we beat good teams when he is out. We beat good teams with him in, but you know the Hawks win when we play smart. They ALWAYS play smart when he isn't there..

  2. Listen, I never wish injury on any player, I played sports and know that you want to win when the team is at their best. Kobe is amazing and I respect the dude immensely...So this has more to do with the city I grew up in. The one that is full of Lebron/Celtic/Knick/Bulls/Kobe fans. You got two players in the group and the rest is people from the north that left their city to come down south for better living. It's annoying and pitiful. I will always love Atlanta but forever hate the residents of the city.Seeing all that purple in our arena pissed me off. It isn't new, but I'll never get over it. I hope that they are all happy that they got to see the Hawks win and Kobe get hurt at the end. The Hawks fans deserved the win and the Lakers fans got what they deserved too. Good riddance to all of them..

  3. So glad that we didn't do that deal as Evan is way too inconsistent and Hawes doesn't offer much more than Zaza does.

That was probably the only deal I wanted to make (that seemed realistic). Both guys can be inconsistent, but they do have some upside.

  4. Health is going to be a huge issue for us no matter who we play. We will need Zaza to be able to start or atleast play a lot of minutes. We are going to need to all of our G/F to be able to play as well.

I'd feel confident against Brooklyn/Pacers, Celtics/Knicks are kind of neutral, and I feel like the Bulls are a bad matchup.

I know a lot of people look at the Pacers as an elite team in the east but I really feel that we can beat them in a 7 game series. I really only fear the Bulls and the Heat. For some reason we can't beat the Bulls+Nate.

  5. I recorded the game and saw it when I got home. Bad game all around, but wtf was up with the end? Devin turned it over on like three straight possessions. Was Teague dead?My deal with Larry is he lets certain guys play through bad games, but certain guys won't get the same treatment.

  6. . I had a hunch he was less than 100 percent up until the break, and he kinda emphasized how good he's been feeling lately in the post game interview.

I've also felt it has taken him awhile to fully come back from his injury. Not necessarily physically but mentally. You didn't see the type of confidence he is showing now in his jumper and he wasn't as aggressive on the offensive end earlier in the season. Looks like the Boss has everything finally coming back together.

  7. I was thinking about this yesterday when looking at the standings. I'd love to move up to 3 and have Chicago pass Brooklyn so we get the 3/6 matchup against the Nets. Then have the Celtics pull off an upset against the Pacers and get them in the second round. Knock off them and basically end the KG and PP era. We'd then probably get the Heat in the finals and hope we can pull off an upset after winning two tough playoff series.

  8. I was at the game last night, got to sit about 6 or 7 rows behind the Hawks bench. We started slow but after that it was pretty much all Hawks. The few pistons fans that were there didn't seem happy with me cheering on my Hawks all game lol. Horford made me proud to be wearing his jersey tonight!

  9. Sick and tired of the lack of city pride from Atlanta and the suburb residents.Games like this make me sick. I was born at northside and grew up in the ATL suburbs. I love ALL of my Atlanta sports teams and I always will. But the people that live here are pitiful. These aren't true fans, these are people that populate the city and claim to be sports fans. Atlanta is a destination city for people up north and randoms from around the entire country. They come here and rave about their city and hate on Atlanta...Yeah, we really need a superstar, it would help immensely. You look around at cities like Detroit, Houston, Cleveland, etc..they don't get stuck with people moving there from other cities. There is actually a sense of city pride and you don't see the type of bs we saw tonight where 2/3 of the crowd is pro Lebron.

  10. I hated Bob calling Braves games, he seemed out of place and his optimism was a little annoying at times. I love him as a Hawks announcer though, I think he does a great job calling our games.I miss Smitty as his sidekick, but Nique has grown on me. I love it when he makes fun of other players. During the Memphis game the other night, Wroten had an ugly play where he drove and got his shot blocked. Nique ragged on him for the next minute or so "that last drive by Wroten, well Bob, it was very very interesting."

  11. Nobody likes losing games. Sometimes the other team plays better, sometimes things just don't go your way. Every team loses and when those two things happen you just accept it.However, I HATE losing games because of lack of effort. There is no excuse for our pitiful display tonight. Yeah, we missed some shots we usually make, but the effort was only there for tiny spurts of the game.I have never been a huge Drew fan, and it's games like tonight that remind me why I hate his calm and non-chalant behavior. His interviews filled with "um" and "uhh" have always made me feel he isn't confident enough to get across a point or inspire players to buy into what he says.

  12. Give me Dudley in the deal he has a cap friendly number at 4 million until 2014/15. Starting quality 6'-7" SF who knows and understands his games and plays to his strengths, plays good defense. And for good measure throw in the Lakers pick and Markieff Morris.

I hated Dudley when he was playing at BC. I'm not sure what it was, but the guy just really annoyed me.

He has turned into a pretty good pro though and I'd welcome him to the Hawks. Gortat/Dudley/Morris/Lakers pick would be a great deal for us.

If Houston can sneak in as that #7/8 seed we will have 3 first round picks to play around with, combine that with our capspace and it could be a really fun offseason.

  13. Al and Josh do feed off each other really well most of the time. There is a little bit of truth in your post..But we should never ever ever give Josh the max. It just isn't smart and would cripple our franchise. We got a second chance when we got out of paying Joe, we can't blow it paying another non-deserving player a max contract.

  14. Korver is the man. I hated him when he played for other teams but love him playing for our Hawks. I'd love to lock him up after this season and hopefully he is starting to enjoy his time in Atlanta and would be open to coming back.

  15. Yeah Dolfan, the really intriguing part of this deal is wondering what else would come our way. I'd love to have Gortat as our center, but we need a couple more pieces coming our way to make this happen. I wonder if they'd be willing to give up the Lakers first round pick they received in the Nash deal?

  16. Off topic a little, but Rondo is out for the rest of the season. As a Hawks fan, I love it. Boston should be done. As an NBA fan, I hate it. Love Rondo, was having a great season leading the league in assists and third in FG% for guards. Sh@t happens. I definately feel no sympathy though with the injuries and lack of continuity we've had.

I'll never feel bad for the Celtics lol. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. They could go also get into the Lowry sweepstakes to make a final run (at a lower seed), or maybe trade off their veterans and give up on the year.
