  1. I also do not expect Crawford to be able to defend the point guards in the East (Rondo, Nelson?) He can barely keep up with the 2's in the league, I expect him to be a defender like Bibby - scores just about the same amount of points that he gives up on D.
  2. This was a very good deal for us. We are certainly getting more bang for the buck with Crawford. But the question is, will he be a starter or a bench player? He has shown that he can play PG in New York, but he was still a chucker who didn't wow too many New Yorkers with his inability to distribute the ball. Crawford is definitely a very good scorer and should help this team take a step forward. But like I said, he's playing out of position if he's playing the PG spot. So right now our roster looks like this (without any re-signings): PG: SG: Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford, Maurice Evans SF: PF: Josh Smith, Al Horford (I consider him a PF, sorry) C: Randolph Morris
  3. I'm not a big fan of Luke Ridnour. But if Bibby is asking that much, I'm not sure I want him. I'd rather have Luke Ridnour and then draft Lawson, Teague, or Maynor. And on a sidenote, what ever happened to the Ramon Sessions rumors?
  4. Well it's rumored that Mike Woodson is very high on Wayne Ellington. He seems to like "how he [Ellington] carries himself". He can fit our system because he is a good shooter and can probably be one of the better options for a scorer off the bench but with this pick of the draft, I think better options will still be there. Point guards will still be available that can certainly help this team out more than a SG/SF could. The things that we needed coming into this offseason (after hopefully re-signing the key bench players in Marvin, Zaza, and Flip) were a future point guard, big man depth (David Anderson signing maybe?), and another scorer to help compliment Bibby, Flip, JJ, etc.
  5. Not only that, but Iverson is also a terrible influence in the locker-room. Did you read that article on ESPN about Chauncey Billups? I forget who wrote it, but it basically pointed out how Denver's young players like Carmelo and J.R. Smith were being negatively affected by Iverson's vibe in the locker room... for example, they'd always be out at night partying, showing up late in practices, etc. In a way, Atlanta is like that Denver team but even younger. Adding someone like Allen Iverson, someone many young players will look up to will not add anything close to a positive effect in the locker room. One head case (in Josh Smith) is enough. I would not be saying this if Allen Iverson showed any bit of maturity as he got older or progressed through his career, but he hasn't. I can just point out the case when the Pistons wanted him to come off the bench, and he instantly came back at them by making a statement through the media saying that he would retire first before coming off the bench for any team. At least Bibby has shown maturity and good leadership throughout his career, and he certainly showed it in the series against Miami when he barked back at Mike Woodson (for something I forgot), yelled at Josh Smith to get his head in the game instead of constantly arguing the calls with the refs, and also he took some of the big shots in the regular season that Joe Johnson couldn't make (sometimes). I'm not saying Bibby is the perfect PG for this team. He is a good fit for this offense but everyone knows how terrible of a defender he is, and when your'e playing under a defensive-minded coach like Woodson, it would certainly help the team out if you can actually play D. Allen Iverson is just a scoring ball-hog at this point of his career, there are much better and probably cheaper options out there (Ramon Sessions maybe and certainly in the draft).
  6. I don't see anyone worth trading up for in the very top picks of the draft except Hasheem Thabeet. I don't think Curry is that much more special than Lawson or Teague. His stock seems to be soaring because of the recent interest from the New York Knicks IMO. As for the Iverson idea, I think it wouldn't work. Even though Woodson runs that horrid Iso Joe offense, that offense requires for shooters to be ready at the perimeter if JJ drives and finds that he has to dish it out. That's why Bibby fits Woodson's offense so nicely.
  7. The Celtics reportedly offered Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to the Pistons for Rodney Stuckey, Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince. League sources told Yahoo! Sports of the deal, which reportedly never made it past lower level executives as Detroit rejected the offer immediately. The offer was made this past weekend. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AtjI...o&type=lgns
  8. In my opinion, this is all just "he say, she say" rumors. This one rumor in particular is being spread by an egotistical basketball analyst who is currently unemployed and is probably just looking for more attention on his Twitter.
  9. The difference between Roddy and Acie is that Roddy White actually got some playing time... and Roddy busted out when we got a coach that was pass-happy and wanted to utilize Roddy White. That's not the case here with Woodson.
  10. I never really said we were going to get him. Which is why I was asking the Hawksquawk members... but it's also funny how you think Acie Law can actually be a star under Mike Woodson. lol it won't happen
  11. I think the answer to this question is key when going into the draft. It would help us knowing whether or not we need more depth at center. I know we drafted him in the second round a while back and that we couldn't sign him, but I'm still unsure right now even after reading all the articles and topics made about him...
  12. If we move up at the fifth spot and pick Stephen Curry, I'll be f***ing pissed.
  13. Although your negative comments are really annoying, I must say... until we get rid of Mike Woodson, we can't expect to be much more than we were last year.
  14. I would be pissed if we got Hansbrough. I don't see him being more than just a bench player.
  15. I doubt Stephen Curry falls out of the top 10.
  16. About what Rick Sund said about JChillz (if Childress wanted to come back, he could), he said this "oh yeah? I'm wasnt aware of that. Kinda weird right? Hahahaha" on Twitter again... I don't think Sund and Chillz are close at all haha.
  17. He asks "Who has potential?" Josh Smith's potential far surpasses that of Marvin's. Sorry to say.
  18. Dolfan, can you check if you get this overflow as well in your Inbox when you use Google Chrome?

    More Ford

You know how much it would suck if all of Chad Ford's comments about the Hawks actually came true?
  20. Trading Smith will make our team more boring, but if it's for the purpose of winning, then so be it.
  21. Mullens will be dropping because of the fact that he's raw and two years away from being 'ready' for the NBA. If we are set in all the starting positions, and have re-signed Flip / Zaza to solidify the bench, I would be willing to invest in Mullens. You talk about stiff? Tyler Hansbrough really does not have that high of a ceiling in the NBA anyways. I would not want Tyler on this team at all.
