  1. The only reason Speedy was used is because Acie and Gardner were both in suits and unable to play. The man has no played in almost two years and has only started seeing some clean-up minutes for almost a week or so. I doubt he'll start contributing like the old Speedy any time soon.
  2. I hope you weren't typing while driving, haha. Sounds awesome that JJ signed your jersey. I'm jealous.
  3. We've only won one game! Let's not pretend like this series is in the bag already please...
  4. Magic Johnson is probably the most valuable player to any team IMO. But the best / greatest is Michael Jordan. He transcended the sport... one might even stretch it out to say that MJ basically is the sport.
  5. You 'fellas going to the game better bring the noise!
  6. It was me who jinxed Paul Pierce. Yes, me. I was giving him the two dirty fingers while he was shooting the last-second free throws. The man was 83% in free throws this year... don't tell me that the 17% chance of him missing actually overcame the odds.
  7. I hope you seriously don't think the ASG is capable of doing this...
  8. To pump myself up for the game, I will be watching all the home games of last season's playoff series against the Celtics. I downloaded it last year from NBA.com... it's too bad I can't burn it on a DVD.
  9. We definitely feed off of Josh Smith's energy both on offense (his dunks) and defense (his shotblocking ability). However, when it comes to the true soul and heart of this team (if I were to choose the "KG" of this team), I would have to say Al Horford.
  10. Pitino was a huge failure in the NBA... WTF is this?
  11. I don't really think it'll be a big difference... I mean... do you really think our players tune in to Around the Horn and PTI to hear who they think are the favorites / underdogs going into the games? As long as Woodson can prepare this team heading into the playoffs, we should be okay on that part. But in a way, I'm also worried about the amount of passion that this team will play with -- we should not go into the game thinking this series is in the bag just because we went 3-1 against them this year.
  12. Welcome to Hawksquawk by the way.

I am trying to package a trade with Joba/Ortiz/Jurrjens for McCann/Lowe... I might drop Schafer.
  14. I wish I lived in ATL... you guys are lucky. :(
  15. We're not going to be playing one-on-one against Wade. It will be constant double and triple teams all across the board...
  16. If Kawakami "keeps sucking"? He's been pitching pretty well recently and he's still adjusting to the MLB ball...
  17. I've seen Gordon play for UConn as well. He can be a PG in the NBA, but it's better if he's not. However, with a player like Joe Johnson who can handle bringing up the ball sometimes, he can play as the "PG" for us IMO. It's just a matter of how much money will Gordon be asking for?
  18. Will Carroll on Glavine: Injuries have context. There is no vacuum in baseball, aside from Ozzie Smith. Have we seen the last of Glavine? As the Magic 8-Ball might say, "things are pointing to yes." He has always been a pitcher who lived on the edge, both in the sense of pitching on the black and in adjusting to his declining physical talent over the past few seasons. While he never blew anyone away, the deteriorating physical skills did show up in his results. Now that Glavine's shoulder is acting up, he seems ready to hang it up. His career speaks for itself, and at some point trying to rehab becomes no fun. Glavine is going to give it a few more weeks, but it seems that the Braves are getting ready for him to walk away. They'll replace him with Jo-Jo Reyes in the short term, but sources tell me that Tommy Hanson's inevitable promotion is likely to come earlier than expected.
  19. Congrats! That league was definitely fun... will be looking forward to next year when I'll take the crown for sure. I'd be willing to bet on it.
  20. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Couldn't really appreciate it as much though obviously because of the missing effects.
