  1. I still think that if someone as good as Pettigrew is on the table, we can't afford to pass up on him unless we're passing up on a player like J. Smith, A. Curry, M. Oher, etc.
  2. I wonder if they just re-aggravated the injury when they tried playing him again in the regular season?
  3. We don't need a tight that can just block. We are looking for a tight end that can block and catch. If we were looking for a TE that could only block, we wouldn't be drafting one since we already have two of them on our roster...
  4. We still should have re-signed Will Ohman instead of signing two old veterans who could have been easily replaced. Glavine can be replaced by Jo-Jo Reyes, Jorge Campillo, Charlie Morton, and Tommy Hanson. And we could have played Brandon Jones (terrific spring training) over Garret Anderson.
  5. The playoffs are set to start this weekend, right?
  6. some of our players would look weird though...
  7. Are you surprised? If any "expert" said Smith should shoot more jumpers, they ought to be fired right on the spot.
  8. We can't settle for what we achieved last year. To be quite frank, we faced pretty bad defenses and our schedule was quite easy. This year, it won't be. Our schedule is one of the toughest in the league and we'll be facing the elite defenses. We won't be able to get by with just Matt Ryan, Roddy White, and Michael Turner. We need an X-factor and that can be Gonzalez. Although I think his age is up there, I think he has a couple good years left in him. I'd rather us go out and draft a young tight end though to compliment Ryan, Turner, and White's youth.
  9. RealGM writers are pretty bad I must say. "--Jeff Risdon is RealGM's senior football writer and draft expert." LOL
  10. who would you rather bring up? don't say hanson because although i think he's ready, i think cox and crew want to make sure we don't rush him and want to see him at the AAA level more. morton is injured still. reyes dominates the minor league, he has nothing left to prove there. he can be a decent mid-rotation starter except he just has problems with control.
  11. At least 7 million (per) for 6 years. EDIT- Actually, if his back is bad enough to allow the GMs to question his health, he might be getting at least 6 million instead of 7 IMO.
  12. Free agent PGs I'd rather have over Bibby: Raymond Felton Ben Gordon Jarret Jack TJ Ford (high chances of him being traded away) Ramon Sesssions I wouldn't want Nash. He plays worse D than Bibby. No point in signing him here.
  13. Yup, Reyes was recalled. I think he'll be starting Saturday. I knew we shouldn't have gone after Glavine. He wasn't impressive last year in the games he was healthy. I wish we had just used that money to go out and get a relief pitcher (could have resigned Will Ohman). Ugh.
  14. You are right, he gives up way too many points on defense. It often seems like he gives up twice as many points on D as he scores himself on offense. I would like us to really evaluate Bibby this playoffs, but if he doesn't do so well, we should trade Law/Claxton for Kirk Hinrich and then draft a PG (Lawson, Collison) to bring off the bench. BTW, good post, and welcome to the Hawksquawk. Looking to hear more from you LouiB. (To you as well MaceCase).
  15. Terror Moore comes out with yet another terrible article. How could you compare Sund and Dimitroff? Dimitroff had to overcome many more obstacles... acquiring a new face of the franchise, rebuilding the entire team, hiring a new coaching staff, etc. While Sund only had to come in and sign a couple free agents, (Although Flip and Evans have been strong replacements over Childress) basically his team was already there.
  16. He's been in uniform for about two or three games now. He still hasn't played. I doubt he'll play tonight.
  17. Morton will probably get the call up... he's on "rehab assignment" but his stats in his last start are too good IMO... Morton: (1-0) 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 12 K

    IF...

YES, We could have beat Cleveland this year. And Chicago will be very tough considering Derrick Rose will just s*** all over Bibby / Flip... but still a yes for both teams. But I don't want to think that far ahead in the playoffs, I want to take it one series at a time.
  19. No way! Mario West = Super Mario!
  20. Randolph Morris just had to choose the gayest one... Josh Smith talks about Superman's kryptonite. Smoov's kryptonite would have to be a wide open three point shot. And where's Bibby? BTW... they didn't want to ruin Speedy's style, but I'm pretty sure he said his favorite super hero was Invisible Woman.
  21. A year ago I would have Sports Illustrated. But now that Rick Reilly writes in ESPN (he left SI) I would say ESPN hands down. The magazine is quite big though... it's like you're reading a newspaper. So if you don't mind that, by all means, buy it! BTW: For those subscribed to the ESPN magazine already, you can have free access to the ESPN Insider -- I'm pretty sure they're the same things/purchases.
  22. ESPN Insider is actually quite worth it. Free magazine subscription goes with it... not to mention countless scouting reports on NBA, NFL, MLB, and college hoops prospects. Not to mention coverage of all the boxing fights and whatnot. I guess it's not worth it if you're just a one-sport kind of guy. I wish I still had Insider -- my brother cancelled his account. I tried registering but I put my real age on my account by accident not knowing that they would only allow ages 18 and up to buy the Insider. :(
  23. I think we're set for linebackers in terms of starters. We can draft one later to develop. I think our starters will be Nicholas - Lofton - Peterson.
  24. LOL... I was going to post something along those lines.
