  1. The deadline for the waivers is March 1st I think. Are there any more notable FAs that you think will be signed?
  2. The stats don't tell everything, my man. I highly doubt Flip would be able to set his teammates up as well as Bibby can. Bibby is a better PG IMO.
  3. Ravens signed CB Domonique Foxworth on a four-year, $27.2 million contract. Dimitroff must have thought they were asking for way too much.
  4. What would you guys like us to do if both Bibby and Marvin ask for too much. We're not talking about ASG refusing them money. I'm talking about lucrative contracts for each of them around $10-11mill each. I know some of you guys are interested in Andre Miller. Some names I've heard come up as well in some trade talks are Caron Butler, Brandon Haywood, Gerald Wallace, etc. Would you SNT Marvin? Would you sign Marvin no matter what? What would you do if your name was Sund and this nightmare happened to you?
  5. We would sign Mike Peterson formerly from Jacksonville before we sign Brooks. If we were to sign any veteran that old, we would make sure that that player already knows the coach's offense/defense inside-out. We won't be babysitting veterans making sure they adjust to our system again. I'm sure Dimitroff will not want that. Besides, what makes you think he'd be good enough on this young, upcoming team when he's obviously not good enough for Tampa? There are much better and easier to understand options out there instead of Brooks, who someone said above is probably around 75 years old.
  6. I don't know if it's such a good idea, but here's another one... maybe if we can get the approval of the video makers on this forum, we can gather all the videos they've made of teh Hawks and put it on one of the pages here in Hawksquawk. What do you think? Something like Hawks Mixes or Hawks Highlights then we can credit the video makers whoever it was. Just a suggestion. Maybe a download link or maybe a Youtube embed?
  7. I keep forgetting the televised games up here in CT. I have NBA channel so is it possible if we can add something to the schedule or add a schedule where it shows which games are nationally televised, NBA-TV televised, etc.? Like the one in Braves-Nation.com. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
  8. He signed with the Suns for a lucrative contract that started around $11 Million and then ended around the fifth year for $14 or 15 Million. Talk about ridiculous. I came back in the fourth quarter when I was down by 13 with 1:30 left on the clock with Steve Nash. He is so much better offensively than Bibby is in the game. Better three (can sink any three with him) and faster. Just hard to worse defense so it's hard to guard people like Gilbert. Bynum dominates the boards. I'll post the game's stats tomorrow. I'm headed to sleep!
  9. So I decided to play more realistically and re-sign Woodson (he's one of the cheapest decent coaches in the game, and ASG is cheap so...) Anyways, I would explain how I got these players, but it would take too long. So here's my new roster. 2009-10 Final Roster PG: Steve Nash, Acie Law, Speedy Claxton SG: Joe Johnson, Maurice Evans, Flip Murray SF: Marvin Williams, Sheldon Willis (Rookie) PF: Al Horford, Solomon Jones, D.J. Williamson (Rookie) C: Andrew Bynum, Zaza Pachulia, Randolph Morris I resigned... Marvin to 5 Years, 40.82 Million Zaza to 4 Years, 18.10 Million Flip to 3 Years, 11.53 Million Solomon to 3 Years, 3.12 Million I'll post the first game as soon as I play it. Maybe tonight. I'm simming the preseason... hopefully no one gets injured while I'm simming it.
  10. I didn't do too much yet. My team finished the season without making the playoffs. I fired Woodson for Karl, the old Denver coach. I think he's bound to retire soon, so I only signed him to a two year contract and signed a better assistant coach for more money. I let Mike Bibby (asking for a lucrative contract - something like 5 years for 10 mill with 10% back so it gradually increases to 13 mill) and Marvin (same deal, asking for too much - something like 9 mill gradually going up to 12 mill) walk. I resigned Pachulia to a contract that started off around 3.65 and ended up somewhere in the 4.8 mill for 4 years. I stopped once we arrived at the NBA Draft so I could sleep... so yeah, just woke up. I'm thinking of making an almost eplica copy of the Jazz's roster, although I don't think it would be realistic since didn't Karl have a shooting SF (Melo) and not a defensive SF (Smith)?
  11. What makes some of you guys think Woodson will play "Collison or Lawson" if he doesn't even play Acie Law, almost a top ten draft pick?
  12. Yep, made one again... I promise not to have any angry outbreaks over the game this time. I'm currently simming (I'm developing my players and scouting new prospects each week) the first season. I had an association already where I played all 82 games, but I decided to go with a sim league. One thing I'd like to b*tch about though is the ridiculous contract demands of these players. Why in the world does Raymond Felton get 12 Mill/Year contract, Nate Robinson 11 Mill/Year, and Bibby demands at 10 Mill/Year contract? I just think that's absurd, I hope they fix that next year, but it's not that big of a deal - I just wanted to see if anyone else thought it was annoying trying to play a realistic association and then after having one season your PG and SF are demanding 2-3 mill more than they're worth. So yeah, I'll be aiming to get Steve Nash at the end of the year if Bibby doesn't resign. I'll post the end of the year stats when I can and then post the game stats like in my old topic. Not sure how many games I'll be able to play compared to last time's though.
  13. Diesel is to Marvin as benhillboy is to JJ.
  14. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by this.
  15. It's only at 60 Hertz at that resolution. Tried it before already. But that's okay, I understand that there's nothing you could do so it's fine. I'll stick with the Light versions. Thanks though.
  16. Good points. But we would get more value out of Smith if we traded him instead of sitting him on the bench. That won't do any good to our team chemistry seeing that Josh probably won't have it and would demand a trade ASAP.
  17. I would prefer a big if we were to trade Josh Smith. Trading for Vince would still leave us with far too little bigs to be comfortable with if we want to make a run in the playoffs. Al Horford Zaza Pachulia ...Solomon Jones?
  18. Who would you recommend we trade him for this offseason then, Dies'? Perhaps a combination for a veteran big or maybe a couple draft picks or maybe even both?
  19. From Rotoworld... I'm not that big of a fan on drafting Brandon Pettigrew in the first, but it looks like the player I wanted the most (B.J. Raji) in the beginning of the year will not fall to us. It would be good to have an all-around tight end on our roster - especially with Pettigrew's caliber. I wasn't sure we would draft Pettigrew at all earlier because I thought we would want to stay as far away from players like him as possible (he had an incident a while ago where he attacked a police officer). As long as we don't pass on Michael Oher or B.J. Raji in the first round when we draft Pettigrew, I will be happy.
  20. Just to notify the league... I'm looking to make some trades. If you're interested in any of my players, just ask. I'm willing to trade anyone away except Chauncey Billups, Dwyane Wade, and Antawn Jamison. I'm looking for more bigs in particular.
  21. Is there a list of possible people that we could get? Who would you speculate that we'd go after?
  22. From ESPN Insider And Keith Law from ESPN says this about Griffey: "The Mariners' agreement with Ken Griffey Jr. is a nostalgia signing that does very little to push the franchise forward and carries some risk of retarding their recovery from five years of mismanagement by the previous baseball regime. [...] What's most troubling is that this appears not to be a baseball move, but a marketing one. It's a cynical, insulting ploy to try to get fans into the park -- "Hey, they've heard of this guy! They won't know he's not half the player he used to be!" -- and worse, it's misguided. Fans who want to see Griffey play again will go … once. One past-prime player isn't going to get large numbers of fans to go to the park on a regular basis; the only thing that can do that is winning, and Griffey is worth maybe a win to the Mariners in 2009, with the potential that he reduces future win totals if he takes playing time away from younger players."
  23. Griffey would not have been that big of a break for the Braves' organization. I would rather have Garret Anderson than Griffey. The only thing Griffey has over him IMO is his ability to sell jerseys. Although I would have loved to have Griffey play here, what can you do about it? And the Peavy trade deals are different. We were the ones who backed out of it.
