  1. I agree with every one else. A new coach would definitely boost this team, although I must admit that we will definitely start off slow with chemistry just being developed with the new coach towards the beginning of the season. However with a lineup like this: Bibby - Law - Claxton JJ - Salim - Richardson - West Smith - Childress Horford - Solomon Diop - Pachulia I think we can do a lot of damage. Our second team players are pretty solid except for Solo, but I think he can develop into a decent shot blocker down the stretch given the right amount of playing time and experience.
  2. It would be a shame indeed. When you have a team with this amount of talent compared to the rest of the conference, you should at least get over the .500 winning percentage hump. It seems that when we get a 15+ point lead, I always expect Woodson to blow the lead with horrible playcalling and substitutions. Honestly, I'd be glad to have Woodson out of here. I'd definitely be disappointed in the ownership if he wasn't gone even if we make the playoffs. I don't sense one tid bit of passion in this coach. Those are the type of coaches of high school ball, not college - especially not professional. Sorry Woodson, but please stay out of Atlanta!
  3. I never really wanted Hibbert. I kind of hated him actually and the fact that he was overrated. I called it in the beginning of the year. Hasheem Thabeet is better than Roy Hibbert.
  4. Quote: i would be pissed off if more than 1 playoff game isnt on espn, tnt or abc. i like steve smith and bob rathman but ive never seen a hawk game on national tv. I did. We were facing the Celtics I believe...
  5. At least he took it like a man and got up as soon as possible.
  6. Quote: Wow Al Horford player of the game!! Hits the big FTs and then gets the leak out jam to seal the win. That game was WAAAAAYYY to close for comfort. It's scary when guys like Gordon catch fire. Games like this don't really surprise me anymore... it always seems like we play down to our opponent in every fourth quarter.
  7. Quote: You're trying to make the playoffs and not develop backup PG's. Well, thanks for telling me that, Captain Obvious. I was just saying that if we had the lead, I'd love us to give Acie some valuable developmental minutes.
  8. Josh Smith is stinkin up the court. Recently he hasn't been able to do much in the fourth quarter besides bring our team down. Thanks to you too, J 'Smooth'!
  9. I love Woodson! We always give the team a chance to beat us in the fourth quarter! Woody, you're too nice!
  10. Quote: What is the big deal about Acie Law? He never does anything the whole time he is out there. He's just a rookie. And rookies usually need minutes to develop.
  11. Let's let Bibby rest. Put Acie in. When we still have a large margin, put Solomon in! Then put in Salim/Mario at SG. Acie Salim/Mario Chillz Solomon Pachulia
  12. Thanks for making your billionth topic of the most pointless [censored] ever. Thanks for that.
  13. IT'S WOODSON'S FAULT HE NEEDS TO GET FIRED BUT I THINK OUR OWNER GIVES IT TO HIM UP THE ASS [censored] ASG. [censored] WOODSON. GOOO Hawks! WOOOO~!!!!
  14. WOODSON NEEDS TO GET FIRED NOW IF WE WANT TO EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!
  15. Quote: and u want marvin williams i take it?? lol yup, if you read my post that's what i said. but [censored] all of em. our whole team sucks. especially our coach. [censored] every one except horford.
  16. He will ask for too much money, but he doesn't deserve it. He never hussles. This is the second game where I've seen him slackin that cost this team valuable points. I'd rather have Marvin if he's going to keep doing that. At least Marvin is still young (and should still be in college). I'm so f***in pissed off for J"Smooth" taking time off just because he's tired. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS BEING BENCHED FOR A WHOLE f***in QUARTER.
  17. Since I have no classes today (one extra day added on my Easter Break), I'd just like to post this one thing. I used to hate this forum system. Maybe some of you guys can remember the topics I made in the past year or two on why I hated this. However, as soon as I started posting and getting to know the members a little better, I've grown to love it. When the new look came out, I almost had an orgasm because of how good it looked. Then, when the new look v.2 came out (with the rotating banners and all) I almost had to clean up my mess on the keyboard if you know what I mean. Freaky, yeah, but I really appreciate the kind of work that the Hawksquawk Staff has put into this. Without it, I wouldn't have a site to go to when I'm procrastinating or when I want to read up on the Hawks every now and then. Sometimes, I want to go to Real GM, but I know that their forum really doesn't have as good a community as Hawksquawk does. If I were to vote for the best sports web site on the internet, I'm pretty sure it would be this. Cheers to the Staff of Hawksquawk, and here's to hoping for many more knowledgeable arguments and discussions.
  18. I agree. No Country for Old Men was not that special for me, and I'm glad I share the same opinion with someone else here about it... I just didn't enjoy it at all... I sat there throughout the whole movie waiting for something to happen that would get me into it, but I really wasn't into it, and believe it or not, I actually found myself wondering whether I should hop to another theater room to watch another movie or not.
  19. Quote: On a side note, I'm not sure I like the idea of Woody and Joe going out to dinner and developing repoire. Woody is trying to snake himself into an extension. I gotta say though, Woody has not been bothering me so much lately...blasphemy, I know. We appear to actually run thought-out plays on offense now, weird. Did you watch that Nets game? You know... just wondering.
  20. Before you post, try to actually have some solid research done before it. It's not too hard to go to AJC.com and go to the 'Hawks' section, and you'd see that Sekou posted a new article 3/21/08, and I'd expect a new one up by the time the game is over tonight...
  21. Quote: It's not the lost that's bothersome, it's how they lost the game. Exactly. And the fact that we lost to the team that we are battling inch for inch for that final playoff spot makes it countless times worse than what some people perceive it to be. This was not just an ordinary loss. This is a loss that can end up keeping us out of the playoffs. I would also like to say that I wish this loss would open up some more eyes in the organization, enough to finally get Woodson's ass out of here.
  22. What I realized with Smith is, if he played with a little more heart, played a little smarter, and stopped turning the ball too many times, he'd be an automatic all-star. I never see him playing with all his heart, and his decision-making on the court is the reason why he gives the ball up so many times. It's not like it's stolen away from him, if you watch the turnovers, they're all just stupid mistakes where he either telegraphed the pass or where he just idiotically throws the ball towards his teammate... I really wanted to re-sign Josh Smith, but if we can somehow sign and trade him, I don't know... I might just say yes to that for perhaps a first round draft pick + a player. I'd rather have someone who hussles his ass off instead of someone who plays with inconsistent effort, questionable decision-making, and a three point shot that never goes in, yet he always has confidence in it. Players like Al Horford have heart. He's playing out of position, yet he always ends up with double doubles against the toughest centers out there. If we were to get rid of Josh Smith, I truly believe it would free up Horford to play in the power forward position and give us the opportunity to bring in a big man because if you think about it, we always seem to get beat down low in close games.
  23. Did he say what type of internet browser he is using?
  24. Smoov for Oden? That'll never happen, bud.
