  1. That is all Diaw is, a valuable role player...that is all he will ever be....nothing wrong with that. He has a good all around game...he had the same skills when he was here. JJ would be a lot more valuable to Phoenix right now though....but he is a Hawk....suckas!!!!!
  2. I am not sure about Salim becoming as good as Arenas...but he can become a very good player in the league...and I think can work well with JJ in the backcourt as he matures. Salim's lack of defense is exaggerated, like Royal's defense is grossly overrated....Salim does need to improve on his ball skills but with a jumper like that and his quickness...there is no reason why he could not start with JJ. But on this board people are ready to trade him. This boards gives up on our rookies easily....don't know how many times Chills and Smoove have been traded. We should actually not give away pg duties to anybody, we should make a guard earn it.
  3. We have gotten rid of a lot of players that can play.
  4. Hey....don't shoot the messenger that was an actual mock draft I found on the net....and yeah I am wishing for Aldridge....LOL
  5. I like Shelden, he is tough, rebounds plays D and can score the ball a little...funny, they list him at 6-9...if he were a legit 6-10, he would prolly be a top 3 pick in this draft. I really do not want two 1st rounders, so I hope we just pick the best big if we drop to 5. Do you think Aldridge will drop to us if we stay at 4? Like this mock suggests..... 1. Chicago Bulls -- Tyrus Thomas, PF, LSU (From New York) 2. Charlotte Bobcats -- Rudy Gay, SF, Connecticut 3. Portland Trailblazers -- Adam Morrison, SF, Gonzaga 4. Atlanta Hawks -- LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C, Texas 5. Toronto Raptors -- Andrea Bargnani, PF, Italy 6. Orlando Magic -- Brandon Roy, SG, Washington 7. Seattle Sonics -- Shelden Williams, PF, Duke 8. Boston Celtics -- Randy Foye, PG/SG, Villanova
  6. Yep, have mentioned Elson numerous times he will add the type of quality big man depth playoffs team usually have.
  7. Lue could avg 20 points a game if he took a lot of shots....that little stop and pop jumper from 13-15 feet is money...he if took a lot of shots Lue would avg 20, especially if he has scoring options around him.....I think his high shot attempts in a game in his CAREER is only 20...Mike James prolly takes 20 shots while on the way to the arena.
  8. I mean as a player...they are roughly at the same talent level. I would rather have Lue.... if we don't sign a vet PG, then Lue and JJ should start...I think the mistake we made with Lue is by him coming off the bench he felt like he had to dominate the ball and we ran too many pick and rolls...I like it we we move on offense abnd everbody touches it, when things break down...Lue or JJ can then create, shot clock at 10, nothing doing with the play, then break down the d with the dribble. We went to too much two man basketball early in the clock with Lue in the game. But the Ivey thing became a little annoying after a while.
  9. There is really not a lot of difference between Mike James and Lue.
  10. "And Al is the reason for our failures on defense." What are u talking about...I have not pinned all our defensive problems on AL. I said we really don't need his offense and since that is basically all he brings.... Why spend money on Al when we can spend it on bigs. You can play winning basketball in the NBA without one or two guys dominating the basketball, especially in the east. A team that has 4 or 5 double figure scorers plays defense and rebounds wins games...that would have us in the playoffs next year. Let me ask you this...if we started the season with the same team .....minus Al...would our PPG drop?
  11. Al supporters would like u to believe that we will miss Al's scoring, because he really brings little beyond that to the team. In reality, with Lue, JJ ZZ Marv Smoove Chillz Salim we have enough scoring, thats why we really had no drop off with Al out. What we have to do is spend that money on bigs that play D and rebound. Really the difference between us and Bucks Bulls Wizards is help defense. We really need to find a way to get multiple bigs..like a Pryz/Nene combo combine those two with ZZ/Batista...that solid enough to make playoffs nest year...I would waive Edwards adn Ivey.
  12. Also, don't think we get any better defensively with that roster.
  13. Don't think Al wants to be here, I don't want him here, and don't think he will resign.
  14. "He had 15 points.. and really was a none factor until the end of the game when they kept giving him the ball." Seems like he is a big factor if at the end of a close playoff game they keep giving him the ball.
  15. I would take an Elson/Pryz Combo before I resign Al.
  16. Exactly, Chillz is just as or more valuable than both of those players...he can do more than both. A lot of times I think fans let the media sway what they think about a player. If Chillz played Philly playing with AI or in Chicago...many Hawks fans would be saying damn how could BK pass on Childress. I feel cheated in some ways because we prolly won't ever see this group with a proven vet coach...all though we don't know what the difference would be...there may be a big difference...know what I mean?
  17. Passing on Deng?...please nobody's job will hinge on passing on Deng for Childress. People act like Deng is setting the league on fire. The only way BK will ever fire Woody is if his job appears the be on the line...and he gets desperate and needs Woody to take the fall. We need a vet coach ...but if there are not any good canidates, we should fire Woody for the sake of change. If we could get a good vet coach ...I would not hesitate to fire Woody. Players have come and gone...many young and talented..but one thing has bee constant in the past few years, we have not had a proven coach. I predict BK and Woody will be shown the door together....this is a big offseason for our young players as well as our management...if BK can get enough talented Bigs in here...we can be well on our way.
  18. Would not fire Woody for the sake of firing....but if a proven vet coach is available and interested, I would not hesitate.
  19. I would say .....of course they have a good young core...but so do we, my intention is to see what plays out here in Atlanta...if things don't work out here ... I am prepared to explore other options.
  20. Who knows....but why promote this dude as a leader on a young team when for half a season he has talked about the great escape to a winning team. Obviously he does not see Atlanta as a playoff contender anytime soon, or we would not hear all the talk about going to a playoff team. Just get the impression he feels he has served his time now he is about to be free.
  21. The problem I have is when fans on this board want BK give this phoney a ton of money to stay here....for what? Wait til the end of the year to start talking about places you want to play...not when your teammates are having a slug fest (with nothing to play for) with the Bulls. He does this all the time. Not very professional. Before the all star break he was saying I'm a Hawk right now...the rest will take care of itself....now he is doing the Al Harrington please sign me tour. Notice to Al...GMs know u r a free agent! U soft punk.....had to get that off my chest...LOL
  22. Whatever gets you through the day.
  23. Well until he proves to the league he can shoot consistantly he is not going to get all the way to the basket...players will be waiting on him to take charges. He is growing and the next thing and the hardest thing for most players is the in between game. The pump fake drive and pull up either for a short jumper or floater....when he gets that, Smoove will be almost unstoppable. He is improving...this summer will probably the most important off season of his career. Smoove is on his way.
