  1. God we have come such a long way. I don't think any of our Euro projects ever materialized.
  2. Honestly, we don't NEED anything. Any additions at this point are gravy. Our Top 10 is rock solid. Obviously we have the injuries and rehabs to navigate through to start the year, but I feel good about our options. PG- Trae, Wright, Cooper SG- Bogi, Kev, Mays SF- Dre, Cam, Solo PF- JC, Gallo, JJ C- Clint, OO, Dieng There is room for a couple more bodies if we so choose. But there aren't any NEEDs left.
  3. Folks forget, everyone not named Trae had their numbers fall off a cliff in the playoffs. John was still basically tied with Bogi as our 2nd leading scorer at 14 per game, and his rebounding actually went up in the playoffs. You could tell he had to adjust to the physical play, as he was getting elbowed and punched on one side but on the other end getting whistled for cheapies. Foul trouble kept him out of the lineup in at least 1/3 of the games. But we also don't win another 1/3 of the games without him. His percentages where great across the board, so he never played bad. Folks just wanted more assertion and production. I agree and am on record saying he has to bring the juice, the energy and intensity to the court for us. This whole "Calm, cool" thing was good for us at first, but Milwaukee was hustling and we never matched their energy. That has to change and John is the guy I think can do it single handedly. It was his first experience too, I have hope that he can improve based on knowing what to expect now.
  4. Duncan Robinson was a key starter for them. 2 of Cam, Kev and Dre will be coming off the bench for us over the next year or so. Even if you are an All Star talent, it's hard to show your maximum potential off the bench. That drives down price. (See Sabonis' deal, signed as a bench player before becoming an All Star) If these guys are able to break out in spite of their bench roles, then that means our team is a championship contender. In which case we have no problem breaking the bank to keep them on. We have to stop thinking with Spirit LLC mindset and realize that the current Owner is willing to do what it takes for a Championship. He is not satisfied with successful playoff teams that get bounced out. He is not trying play us cheap just to put out an exciting product with no hopes of going anywhere. Those days are over. Warriors were a laughing stock franchise for years, but they have spent whatever it took to squeeze every ring possible out of the Curry era. They are in tax hell, but they do not care because they know the window isn't forever. That is about to be us. For better or worse. We are ready to pony up and bring home the Larry O Brien.
  5. Apparently Cam and Gallo will be the 2 trade bait pieces we dangle all season, waiting for a desperate team to bite.
  6. Lou and Sap both will be great for the locker room. The way the arms race is shaping up why not get both and completely "vet" up the squad.
  7. Now that it's official I can finally gloat. Been saying 24-26mil avg per year all season long. Nailed it. That was always the sweet spot for him. Not a Max, that was never going to happen, which is why I never worried or felt the need to get butthurt. Glad everything worked out
  8. Knicks are solvong their offensive woes by adding dynamic guard play this offseason. But, their calling card defense is taking a hit the more you play Walker and Fournier.
  9. Divencenzo is their starter. Tucker only started starting when they faced the Nets and sold out for defense. Holiday, Divencenzo, Middleton, Giannis, Lopez is their starting 5.
  10. The worst part about public contract negotiations is the obligatory character assassination that always follows the player. There has been zero statements made from JC or his camp. It's all been third-party reading between the lines of what he "might" be thinking. Yet here we are, attributing disgruntled dialogue and selfish character traits because JC is using the entire moratorium period to do what he and the organization always said that he would do from jump. John could very well love the Hawks' offer, he still cant "sign" anything until noon Friday. Trae's extension is not signed. Delon Wright is not a Hawk yet. Dieng is not official. None of these moves are inked yet. If JC wants to use the next few days to see if what we already know doesn't exist is out there, that's his right. But he will almost undoubtedly be back, and right now the fanbase are the ones burning that bridge and damaging the relationship by painting his character as something different than what he has proven himself to be during his tenure. From owner, GM, coach, down to teammate; everyone agrees that JC is a team first, unselfish, stand up guy and the heart of the organization. The man can't take 2 days of being a free agent before we turn on him? Now, when he's back, some of y'all going to double down and act like you own the guy. Every missed shot or less than 7 rebound game you're going to be screaming to trade him; all because he hurt your feelings by making you be patient for a few days in free agency. Meanwhile, JC and his camp remain silent. Not leaking anything to the media like the organization just did with his contract offer. Not speaking out. Moving in silence with respect. We should follow suit.
  11. 04 Pistons Chauncey Billups Rip Hamilton Tayshaun Prince Rasheed Wallace Ben Wallace
  12. We lost OO, Cam, and Nate from SL in a matter of days it seems. Still excited to see the Rooks, and I hope Mays balls out now that he will get significant touches.
  13. Top 10 in both categories is what it will take to reach the Finals. Top 5 in at least 1 to win it all.
  14. Same. Nothing has been a surprise. Things are going exactly how I thought they would, and my patience meter won't even begin to start tingling until Friday at the earliest.
  15. I was about to say, is nobody gonna talk about the Lakers and Melo? I feel bad for Portland man, he was solid for them. Super hard for them to attract and retain top talent. Melo was a perfect pairing for that team
  16. Not your article, the one I linked in my response. Sorry for that
  17. Pull the offer that we all just found out about an hour ago, because we are afraid John won't sign it, even though we just found out about the deal, and he can't sign it until Friday anyway?
  18. I don't want to comment until things are made official, but I don't think JC is in any rush to sign. They just said they want him to get the free agent experience and meet with teams. Free agency just started yesterday. They cannot officially sign deals until the 6th anyway. I don't think there is a hold out or anything, I think he signs the deal once he is officially able to do so. There is no real incentive to do otherwise considering he and the Hawks have a mutual understanding that he will be back.
  19. On Monday, Young agreed to a rookie max extension worth up to $207 million over five years. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/08/top-50-nba-free-agents-of-2021.html It's like they forget that they had John consistently listed among the top 2 or 3 players in this Free Agent class. This article is from yesterday morning. He was only behind Kawhi in their free agent rankings. That's why you can never trust the noise. One minute they love you, the next you are no longer worthy.
  20. Bulls not playing games man, they been getting busy since the trade deadline
