  1. quote]Teague yes, WEST HECK NO.. he probably wouldn't make any other team in this league. Since the Hawks are too damn cheap to pay a real vet. Mario get's a roster spot.. I agree. I created the topic immediatley after the back to back dunks by West and Teague. I was moreso referring to his hops than overall game.
  2. 24pts- 15ast- 5rebs and 5TO Teague had a beast of a game. Thats a perfect 3 to1 Ast/TO ratio, but I must say this, Smith and Collins were knocking down some good jumpshots for a few of those assists so I have to give credit to all parties. Regardless, Teague reminded me of preseason "Blink" tonight
  3. He just went end to end in the blink of an eye and finished with a sweet layup
  4. On second thought, you can also ask this question: Whens the last time our starting PG had this many MINUTES? Teague is set to play all 48 tonight
  5. Cosign, he is having a "career" night tonight. Thing is, his career has been very short lived this season
  6. I know tonights game doesnt matter but WOW, back to back POWERFUL jams. Both are smaller guys who can really elevate quickly. Teague is also having a career night btw. Afterwards, Bob Rathburn even said this about Teague: "Folks, he can play the game, he just needs the minutes" SO TRUE p.s: Again, I know this game doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things
  7. That was actually very entertaining. When he mentioned BK blowing draft picks that turned out to be ok, then said any of our starting five can have a big night, I was impressed, because only true Hawks fans know details like that
  8. I think it was just a cautionary decision. Trying to give him some rest before the playoffs
  9. DWade looks very suspect on their homepage. I agree with both of what you said, although I wouldnt consider Mario an X-factor. He may not see the court enough to impact the game.I love how he plays, but apparently Woody doesnt
  10. Thats the truth right there. Lets win as many games as possible and let the chips fall where they may. Either way, we SHOULD make it out of the 1st round, no question
  11. Crawford has plenty of substance. He's not just out there dribbling around for no reason, he blows by his defender pretty easily and is probably the best finisher at the rim on our team. Plus his shot is very pure. Like the ESPN announcers said, his shot looks like its going in every single time, even if it doesnt. Plus he is court savvy i.e: setting the record for most 4 pt plays in NBA HISTORY. Craw is flashy yes, but thats not all there is to him by far.
  12. Joe with the DEEEEP 3!!! I love it when he shoots (and makes) those shots. Its like, you cant get mad if you are the other team, you just gotta give him props.
  13. will it be in vain though? Is Woody going to REWARD them for their good play by bringing them back in the game BEFORE it gets out of reach? Find Out Next On: AS THE HAWKS TURN
  14. Josh and Horf are continuing to go weak to the rim. Why are they so damn afraid of Dwight? 10 rebs in the 1st quarter??? are you serious. weak pump fakes over and over waiting for him to leave his feet? HE ISNT GOING TO JUMP Fellas, just put the ball up before he gets close enuff to stuff you. And Josh, stop passing out the paint for a jumper just because Dwight stares at you. He not going anywhere all game, your going to have to challenge him eventually. Grow a pair BOYZ and play like you care about your pride.
  15. I mean..... just think about HOW MANY games we handed away this year. That alone puts us close to 10 wins. Then think about how many games we got beat because of somthing simple like playing against the zone, or a super -quick point gaurd, or players being pulled when their hot, or left in when their not, etc. Then think about how many games we just came out flat in either the 1st quarter, or 2nd half. This team has been very inconsistent and has managed to be on track for 50 wins. But that doesnt excuse the fact that this team has still been very inconsistent for years. Imagine how much quicker we may have gotten to this point with a consistent team each year. Our progress has been steady but it hasnt been because of a master head coach. Players who been together this long naturally shoud become a better team, that is if they have real talent. But even still, Woody hasnt developed a single player on this team in 6 years. When has he either helped player improve upon a weakness OR put them in a position to best serve their strengths (not hide their weaknesses, like Bibby). My point being, Woody is not a proactive coach at all. We never attack another team, or exploit their weaknesses on purpose. We play scared of dominant players, and never do anything to take them out there game. We tend to hope that a superstar will just happen to have an off game against us and if not we're in trouble. I could go on and on but...you catch my drift
  16. Smoove commited the ultimate BBall no-no. Got his shot stuffed and then got dunked on. Boone is out-hustling him early, he better turn it on if we are going to have a chance tonight. C'mon Josh, youre supposed to be our "leader" right?
  17. Not necessarily, True we are 4.5 games back but with the records: Orlando 47-21 Atlanta 42-23 we are only 2 games back in the loss column. Meaning if they lose more than just 2 games than we do the rest of the way, we tie or finish with a better record. The difference is that we have more games to play (and potentially win) than they do. Example: Orlando- 68 games played, 14 left Atlanta- 65 games played, 17 left if we go 15-2 and they go 9-5, we finish with a better record. Im not saying its likely but its possible.
  18. Without JJ we will need to sign a swingman to this roster, possibly even 2. Craw is still a combo gaurd, we need somebody who can be effective playing the 2gaurd for extended minutes and somebody we can place at the 3 in spot minutes. A player who can shoot to strech opposing D's and defend well on the perimeter. That is where JJ will be missed. I agree that our chemistry and ball movement would increase, but we still would have to replace the threat of a perimeter scorer.
  19. I liked McGee alot during that Wiz game. Dude has the athleticism to fit in with our roster, but also he size and hustle we need at that position. Just imagine a rotation of him Horf and Smoove in the paint. We would absolutley dominate the glass. I was watching the game thinking "I wonder if Sund is seeing what I am in McGee". If we could package some marginal payers for him this offseason, I'd be stoked!
  20. This really sums up everything said about this seasons team lol
  21. According to this article, he was battiling the flu espn.com "That was really big, the way we took up the slack for Johnson. He was under the weather. We wanted to pick him up," Smith said. Johnson, averaging 21.7 points per game, played 37 minutes. He shot 0 for 6 in the first half and finished 3 of 14 from the field, scoring 10 points to go with eight assists. "He was fighting the flu. He wasn't feeling well. It was important we all came out and gave him support," Horford said.
  22. Joe is our best player, but has never been much of a great leader. Josh is the energy and fuel. Al is the heart, grit and determination and just for kicks, Crawford is the "difference" For example, compare us to a car (Im clearly bored): Josh is the fuel, the more he burns, the faster we go Al is the engine, he does all the tough work that isnt seen by the outside Joe is the wheels, the entire team sits on top of him without any of them, we dont go anywhere also: Craw is like 4 wheel drive, gives us a different aspect that we lacked, makes us more versitile Bibby is the Steering wheel that points us in the right direction Woody is the driver who steers the car, but falls asleep at the wheel from time to time.
  23. I dont care what Orlando does. From here on out, we need to win the games we are supposed to POINT BLANK. After Looking at the remaining schedule, I did a quick jot of games we should win based on record alone and came up with 18: 11 games vs non playoff teams 2 games vs Toronto 2 games vs Milwaukee 1 game vs Miami 2 games vs. Charlotte the only teams left we face with a better or close record are CLE twice (1 HOME 1 AWAY) and LAL, SA, and ORL all in Atlanta. We are due to win 1 game against each of those squads this season. The remaining schedule is favorable and there is no reason we cant go on a HUGE run if our team plays the way we can.
  24. Yes! This is what I have been thinking lately. If Our Hawks can get back to the form of that team that started the season 19-6, then I dont fear us against anybody. It seems like ever since the 2nd half of that Thanksgiving game against Orlando, we have lost our mojo and swagger. Its time that our players stop talking about it and just be about it. Josh has caught it, he's starting to rebound like nobody's business. In the last game against Chicago, Marvin fnally played with the URGENCY that he has lacked all season. These are key factors that MUST be maintained the rest of the way, and if we do it, this team can rise to the top of the EAST when its all said and done.
