  1. We lost by 9 points and got nothing from guys like Kev, Gallo, Lou, Wright, etc.... We can look at Solo and TLC but truth is we have enough weapons to win these games, they all just fizzled out. If we make our free throws and Gallo hits just a couple of his wide open 3's, we pull out that win. Think of how many missed shots we had and it was still just a 3 possession game in the end. We can hold on while we wait on Cam and Bogi.
  2. I get the feeling he really doesn't like the Knicks lol
  3. Clint has 14 rebounds at halftime, and I'm pretty confident half of them came on two possessions of him rebounding his missed layups.
  4. TLC, Wright, hell even Mays before Solo.
  5. Back to bail out shots. Knicks are really good at being disruptive. Our guys have to toughen up and grind out better possessions.
  6. Our deepest position on the team and everyone gets hit with injury. Now here comes Solo......
  7. Quickley has a great floater, you can't just give ground on his drives. I know we are worried about the dump off and lobs but we got to make it harder on him in the lane.
  8. Sims's bounce is a little different. Like Jaxson Hayes minus the shits and giggles. Making his presence felt early.
  9. I can agree that Bogi is more of a complimentary piece than a featured one. But everything else, no. Lol. Bogi is good for what he is though. He was paid well to come in and bridge the gap until our young wings were ready to play consistent winning basketball. We used him to hedge our bets in case things went south with them. That said, his shooting is an absolute weapon when on. He can bail us out or bury opponents when he gets it going. He is still one of the best options we have at creating offense off the dribble. And I love his fire. He has waved off Trae a few times when bringing up the ball. I don't know if I want him consistently doing that, but it's nice that he can. It will be interesting to see what our plans are with him going forward. I always thought we would let his contract run it's course and then roll with the youngsters, but I would not be mad at extending him similar to Clint to stretch out this window. Fiscally speaking, him and Gallo are most likely on the trading block, but who knows what happens if Dre or Cam can't prove themselves to be untouchable.
  10. Hawks now have the longest winning streak in the East (6), and the 2nd longest in the entire league behind the Sun's 14.
  11. A lot of former popular Hawks in this Nets-Celts game. Horf, Millsap, Schröder, Bembry each getting major minutes Bruno and Jabari Parker on the bench for Boston as well. Crazy how fast we moved on and rebuilt.
  12. Patience is important, but John is a truly special case. Not every young player can improve the way JC has since day 1. Defense and playmaking were probably his biggest flaws and he has just attacked them with a vengeance the past two off seasons. A lot if it is IQ, but also being humble enough to put the work in consistently. Some young players are not willing to humble themselves and take a step back to really address areas of improvement. JC was not a high recruit or high draft pick. He never had an overblown idea of his ability as a player/prospect. He knew he had to evolve in order to survive in this league. Some guys, even on our team, don't have that same drive and discipline and it shows up in their play.
  13. Just watched the episode. What I learned: Jalen moved out to LA to train with Klutch. His brother's went with him. Younger brother is playing at USC, older brother just graduated and will be his manager. Rich Paul touched on the relationship between the agency and the role Jalen's older brother would play. Basically that his brother will be in a learning capacity and communicate/explain all decisions regarding Jalen back to the family. Klutch is in the driver's seat, but would provide appropriate mentorship to Jalen's brother to bring him along in the industry and answer any questions he would have. They really emphasized the importance of the kid's families in their process. That even though the player's are the client, they treat them as if everything that is said and done will eventually come across Mom/Dad, and they keep that in mind at all times. (Basically, they work for the families and not just the individual) One of the Klutch agents mentioned how Jalen has played out of position his entire life, likely referencing him having to be a big man, small center, when he has a ton of skill to play out on the perimeter. Said their primary emphasis prior to the draft was working on his shooting, as well as addressing the narrative surrounding his Duke exit (I think they did a good job of clearing that up) They described Jalen as the quiet kid compared to the other players (Moses Moody, Kai Jones, Brandon Boston JR, Scottie Lewis, Terrence Clarke rip) A big portion of the first episode was dedicated to Terrence Clarke who died in the car accident before the draft. Brandon Boston was actually driving right in front of him when the accident happened, he was the first one at the scene trying to revive Clarke. Basically watched his best friend die first hand. All of the Klutch rookie class were at the funeral, including Jalen. They were training together everyday and were all close. I think this is important when seeing how hard he trains and how focused he is. You can tell he approaches it like tomorrow isn't promised. Overall, pretty good stuff. I will definitely be tuning in to watch more.
  14. Never believe Travis, he has always predicted an earlier time line than what ends up happening. We are best to just anticipate a January return and be pleasantly surprised if it happens sooner.
  15. I know it's a "small" lineup on paper, but when we have gone to it, our length and speed have allowed us to either switch everything or go zone and keep teams out of the paint, crash the boards and get out on the break much more often. It's a swarming, fast paced lineup more than a halfcourt/grinding lineup. And it has been extremely effective when used and surprisingly, we haven't gotten punished on the glass.
  16. Do y'all remember the Core 5 lineup? It's been a minute since we had everyone healthy but they were our best 5 man group in 2019. Trae, Kev, Cam, Dre, JC I know this is doesn't solve the problem of who starts, but we should look at giving this lineup some more burn once everyone gets back
  17. Going to be a minute before many of the teams in front of us come back to earth. A 6 game slide that early in the season was not ideal. Knicks and Cavs are the most prime to fall with their upcoming schedule and recent struggles. Celtics, Hornets and Wizards will take until Xmas likely to catch. Philly and Milwaukee are questionable. They aren't playing great but their schedule is easing up and they should improve same as us. Bulls and Heat both have very winnable schedules and have already beat some really good teams. We may be in to 2022 before we can catch them the way they are playing. Nets I believe are going to perch at 1 for a while. It's still super early, but it is very competitive in the East. The Nets are the only team I can see stretching things out. Celtics, Hornets, Wizards and Bulls Im not buying them maintaining over the course of the season. We should not accept being behind them in the standings. Although the Bulls may end up as this years Knicks and overachieve all season. Bucks, Sixers and Heat can go either way. My guess is the Sixers drama keeps them from reaching their full potential. The Heat can scrap their way to a top 4 seed. Bucks will likely coast all season and finish strong before the playoffs again. 1.Nets 2. Bucks 3. Heat 4. Hawks (if we can get the defense and rebounding going we can be top 3) 5. Bulls 6. Wizards 7. Celtics 8. Hornets 9. Don't Care 10. Doesn't Matter
  18. Loved having Kev on Ball and Bogi on Hayward. Kev has a little more quickness/shiftiness and his being lighter isn't an issue against Ball like it would have been against Hayward. Bogi is strong and long, and his level of athleticism compared much more favorably against Hayward who is probably more strong than he is fast these days. Trae had to be scrappy with Terry and he was for the most part. Trae being able to guard guards will relieve so much pressure on our defense.
  19. Just want it all to even out for him. Klutz Cam and Klutch Cam. Clumsy Cam and Killa Cam He is talented, even gifted in some areas. If he can tighten up that dribble, stop running in to defenders, stay focused and play within himself, I think he will be fine. I have to see longer stretches of good play from here on out. He isn't a baby anymore, I'm not going to sugar coat his screw ups just because I like his potential. Good game overall last night, lets do it again.
  20. Cam is Redd "hot" ish right now lol
  21. Just want a win. Doesn't mean anything other than we are another game closer to .500. We lost 6 in a row. It'd be nice to get 6 right back.
  22. If if was based on today's roster then yes I would agree with your 8 that you listed. I figure we will have lost a couple of those names via trade by then though. But that is a solid list of 8 guys I would want us to keep today. Trae, Kev, Cam, JC, Clint, Dre, Jalen, JC. Hopefully Sharife is still around then too.
