  1. If Cam can't seize this opportunity with Dre down he probably never will.
  2. My intention isn't to pile on Cam, but I just do not enjoy watching him on the court. The eye test says he is a black hole with the ball, and then you see the numbers that back it up. Even if he WAS shooting with efficiency, you would want to see him move the ball around more and not be the guy where the ball is guaranteed to stop. It's bigger than just him, it becomes contagious. We are a team of guys we are trying to get going, instead of a team that creates the best shot opportunity. Cam's IQ is not where it needs to be. He wanted to skip Summer League so I am done making excuses for him. Development comes secondary to winning right now. He can play defense, but nothing else is NBA quality that doesnt have "potential" attached to it. Yes he CAN do a lot of amazing things, but he does NONE of them consistently and that is a problem for a guy who wont pass and thinks he has the green light to find his shot. When this team clicked last year there was one guy noticeably absent from that run. We played better TEAM defense, we took better shots, we made better decisions, we protected the ball and possessions. It's not all on Cam, but we have proven what we can be without him on the floor. Him coming back shouldn't disrupt everything we established just so he can find the shooting rhythm that has escaped him since he graduated High School. His green light has done more harm than good for us.
  3. Effort is there, communication is not. Too many breakdowns at the rim. I think their instinct is accustomed to Clint being a step ahead and they have to realize he needs more help. He played out of his mind during the regular season last year. Guys will get beat, they just have to be more vocal about the rotations.
  4. What Trae did in his debut playoff run put him in the superstar conversation. Not because I or any Hawks fan say so, but because every talking head on every media outlet, and basketball fans alike ALL agreed that he was undeniable and that they were wrong. Everyone said win first, then do it in the playoffs first, then go win playoff series. Trae did all of it, and in spectacular fashion. When people had to go on air and publicly say "We were wrong, I was wrong, this kid is special, he is legit, he is a superstar" then by golly Hawksquawk, you have yourself a superstar. We suck right now. OK. Got it. Trae is still legit. 24 & 9 while not getting to the line and playing through adversity. He is who he already proved himself to be. We will start to click again soon. No worries.
  5. Trae is pressing. He is overcompensating right now. But late in the game, that ball needs to be in his hands. He makes life easier for the others. Our wings when faced with ball pressure do not make great decisions with the ball. So they need to get off the rock and go be shot ready somewhere.
  6. Every late game possession should be Trae at the top, working around screens and hunting a mismatch. The ball should only leave his hands for: 1. To get JC/ Gallo a post up look. 2. Find an open shooter/roll man 3. To take his own shot whether inside or out. Every possession. Kev, Cam, Bogi, Dre. They need to be moving trying to get open, not on the ball trying to create offense. Too many possessions end in disarray when we let our wings initiate the offense. Late Game execution must be consolidated so that it can be more precise.
  7. Its too late to comeback but the way we close games is awful. 1. Trae needs to be the alpha. Stop letting cats who aren't decisive run plays. Give it to your best player and let him make decisions. 2. We need to slow down and get quality possessions. 3. With quality possessions should come quality, higher percentage shots. No more of this off balanced BS we keep seeing.
  8. Cams handles suck. Stop allowing him to dribble in to turnovers.
  9. Happy to see TLC, I hope I dont regret saying that
  10. Can we close out on shooters under control? Can we please defend without fouling?
  11. 4-8. Really? We are about to be 1-7 in our last 8 games.
  12. This is NOT basketball man. These guys look lost.
  13. Im with you, but I feel like I been telling myself this every game lately. To no avail might I add.
  14. I see Trae and John being active and contributing. I see Kev finding his legs. Clint is the only one who got paid that isnt playing at his previous level. However he sure is heck playing at the level he was during the back half of the playoffs. Which isn't good
  15. We need Onyeka back badly. We could use defensive energy
  16. We used to be able to survive dribble penetration because Clint was swatting everything. He may as well be Alex Len right now. There is no resistance inside the paint without us fouling.
  17. Clint used to be the last line of defense, but the rim is wide open these days. Guards are dropping everything over his head as if he isnt even standing there.
  18. We need Clint to perform badly. We are a free pass right now on defense. One thing that is confusing, Im no doctor, but I thought an achilles had to heal with rest. I did not know you can play on it and it get stronger. I thought it was similar to running on a sore ankle. It's just going to stay sore and potentially get worse. Sounds like the issue is that the achilles isn't in pain, but that it's just weak from having to rehab for so long and is causing him to fatigue when active. That bodes better to me than lingering pain.
  19. Im going through all the phases right now, Trying to stay positive. One thing that really irks me that we can't control, is our immaturity. Specifically Cam and then sometimes Trae and others. Cam scares the crap out of me whenever he puts the ball on the floor, I don't know if it's going to be an awkward shot attempt, a loose handle that causes him turnover the ball, an offensive foul, an off balanced step back, a failed highlight dunk that rims into the 2nd level, OR a spectacular play that only he can make. His play is really unnerving, even when he is "playing well". It's just erratic and it kind of sets the tone that we are not comfortable or sure of ourselves out there. I'm pointing him out because he clearly is the one with the least playing time and is still developing as a young player. I'm not going to blame him for our struggles but it is telling that his BEST games came when we were playing well as a team, and his off games tend to result in some eyesore loses.
  20. Clint may need to sit out a couple games. He is that bad right now. Something isn't right with him.
  21. Capela looks BAD. Almost as bad as that extension looks right now. Get him OUT of there coach.
  22. Yupppp, but Trae Young was the problem in the NBA
  23. Dear Cam, you are tall and you are long. Go straight up on the drive. Make them shoot over your length
