  1. speaking of: https://clutchpoints.com/hawks-news-allen-iverson-drops-truth-bomb-on-flaws-in-trae-young-game/
  2. Im not the MB police or anything, but just want to clarify that this topic is not a vax debate forum. They moved the last one if anyone wants to chime in on that debate. This is about Goodwin and the abrupt end to his Hawks tenure, and potential ramifications going forward. He mentioned the Vax, but only to suggest what may have cause his blood clots. It was touch and go. He did not suggest anyone to get or not get it. It's simply his story. Just want us to stay on track.
  3. Fixed it! The playoffs thing I can understand. He wanted to help the team win. But this is potentially career threatening considering he was a fringe guy to begin with, now he has this on his medical report. He could be done in the NBA. Nobody's fault, just an unlucky break..
  4. Interesting that Dieng is in the PF group, unless they just categorize them as stretch bigs. Then it makes sense.
  5. When our team initially started to get vaccinated, there was the report that like 3 players weren't initially eligible due to having too low of body mass%. Some including myself speculated who those players could have been and even put Goodwin's name out there as one possible. I wonder if his body mass was a contributing factor to the clotting. Seems very likely to go hand in hand when you think about it. This isn't intended to be another vax debate, I just found his explanation to be very intriguing considering it was kind of a mystery as to what happened to him last season. Also gives some insight in to the organization behind the scenes.
  6. My take away is that he respects the organization but is still hurt by being shut down and told to basically keep things on the low. He sounds very unsure of his future despite trying to remain positive about it. Safety first, but it comes across like he is afraid of being labeled as damaged goods because of this.
  7. Please watch, this is good info. They kept all of this on the hush.
  8. Capela is the next closest only because he is the only one on pace to put up HoF worthy stats. At his current rate, if he stays healthy, Clint could realistically finish in the top 16-25 of All- Time rebounders. http://www.espn.com/nba/history/leaders/_/stat/rebounds He has 4146 so far. Hypothetically: If he plays 10 more years, 70 games a year on average, and around 12.5 rebounds game, that would place him the Bob Petit/Charles Barkley range on the All time list at 12,800 or so That's above other non scoring HoF bigs like Rodman and Mutumbo. The key will be can he attach more to resume in the form of All star appearances, a championship or two, a block title, etc.... to complement his rebounding prowess.
  9. Cam's HS tape is why I thought he could be a primary ball handler and playmaker, but he was taken off the ball at Duke and turned in to a spot up shooter. I still like his ability to score off the dribble, but creating shots for others is not something he has done much of in a long time. At best, his Paul George comparison rings true and he is somewhere between 3 to 5 assists a game as a ball dominant wing. But as a "Point Guard" I don't think that ever happens again. Nor does it need to on with this roster
  10. I was always on the Zeke train, but have recently come around to the A.I comp more and more as well. The playstyles are different, but the big heart in a small package is spot on. Capturing a city and rejuvenating it's fanbase, while also doing it with style and swagger, all three have in common. From a generational perspective they are alike, as Trae's game is more passing and shooting oriented which fits today's game more so than the Iso-style that was prevalent during AI's time. Their shooting splits are very VERY similar, which is where the comp is strongest. When people compare Trae to Steph, they are in different universes as far as efficiency, which is fine because A.I showed you can dominate as a small guard who shoots in the low 40's from 2pt, and low 30's 3pt shooter, which is where is and has been since he came in to the league The passing is nothing alike. Trae is gifted in that area. More like Nash in that regard. Trae's DNA: The leadership, scrappiness of Zeke The flashy/tough scoring of AI The passing of Nash The range of Dame/Steph The midrange/pick and Roll dominance of CP3
  11. When they release the top 75 players list they should do 2 versions. One where they only add 25 names to the prior top-50, and another where they re-do the whole list of 75 which could leave off a few names from before.
  12. 2 years ago I was on board with this. Now, however, Cam appears to be much more comfortable either off the ball, or looking for his own shot. I don't see the same potential to play make for others. Not to mention we are pretty set at every position, especially PG where we have 2 capable vets vying for a handful of minutes and a developmental true PG behind them. Cam's minutes at SF are his safest, best bet.
  13. Wouldnt be a Hawks rookie without the perquisite injury to start the year
  14. I love how all the issues are concentrated at 1 position to start camp Dre; limited Bogi and Kev, minor procedures, not 100% and now TLC, stuck in another country. We can't get a break on the wing can we?

Can't even lie, Dre looked confused and disappointed at how fast his time went.
  16. One thing JC said during his session that I found interesting. He is going in to year 5, all with the Hawks, and this is the first time he is coming in to the season and the roster has not been turned over from the year before. There wasn't a coaching change, we didn't trade or sign a bunch of guys. There is finally continuity with the roster and the lineups. Guys already know their role and their fit with the team on the court and in the locker room. I think this is huge for us. I was looking at the KAT interview and empathizing with all the instability with that organization and now I'm sitting here saying that we are in a great place. We shouldn't have to wait months before the guys start to gel and we can finish strong like has been the case the past few years. We will be able to come out of the gates faster and sustain it longer. There will still be adversity, but we are so much better suited to handle it than we have been because of the chemistry that already exists. The health is one thing, but the continuity is what will help launch us to new heights.
  17. Correct, this is how I interpret him regarding injuries. A little disappointing but we are deep for a reason, so no worries. They will be back eventually, I just hope we aren't missing more guys by the time they return. I really would love to see us at full strength for a longer stretch of games than we are shorthanded if that makes sense.
  18. Did they not watch the playoffs? In 18 games, or the 16 that Trae played, he may have gotten 1 questionable foul call, and it was very questionable. The light bump against Jrue Holiday that went for an And-1. He was getting knocked around over and over and played through it with no foul calls. My issue issue is less about him and more about are they going to call it even across the board. JC picks up about 2 cheap fouls a game where the contact is ticky tack. I know that isn't the same as baiting for fouls, but still, if contact is made they better call it both ways. Don't swallow the whistle on Trae and give another team multiple trips to the line.
  19. All true. I think it's also the player's agents/management team pushing content as well. Jalen is coming in with a lot of criticism so they are likely putting out as much content as possible to combat any accusation that he doesn't love the game or want to work hard. When JC was preparing for the draft you saw, or at least I did, a few workout videos of him shooting from the outside. This was likely put out because his scouting report going in to the draft was that he didn't shoot the ball at Wake Forrest. Last off season, due to Covid restrictions, I don't blame the players for not putting out a ton of workout content. There is always a rhyme or reason, I'm sure most of the guys would rather go to the gym and go home and not bring cameramen.
  20. Jalen is taking full advantage of this offseason. You see the youth/rawness, but look how much more fluid, smooth, and comfortable he is compared to fellow rookie Kai Jones. JJ has a ways to go but he is on the right path. That rip through series is in his bag. He's going to be a good one.
  21. Speaking of, some good Hawks stuff in this
