  1. Seeing how advanced Trae is compared to Sexton was great. Sexton is no where near Trae's level right now.
  2. Honestly I think I prefer Bembry as the backup point, as it also frees up playing time for Huerter. Lin has been ineffective anyway
  3. Poythress should be starting in place of the injured Collins. Vince is a straight liability playing as a 4.
  4. I know it's still early but i'm just not seeing it with coach Pierce. The guys look beyond lost on both ends of the floor
  5. Bembry shot 46% from three this preseason. He obviously won't be able to keep that percentage but if he can hover around the 35% that'd be awesome. He still needs to cut down the turnovers though. Thats his biggest issue so far
  6. lol i've actually been pleasantly surprised with Trae. Hes had stretches where hes ran the team really well, thats the kind of stuff I want to see from him. i'm confident his shot will eventually come. what I wanna see more of his coach pierce utilizing him off-ball to get him some open 3 pointers. @bleachkit Agreed with that. Huerter has been pretty... yikes
  7. I really think Bembry's shooting woes is overexaggerated. Don't get me wrong, he still needs to improve in that facet of the game. However, if you look at last season, shooting wasn't the reason for his downfall. It was his turnovers and poor decision making. He simply tried to do too much on offense last season, he drove into heavy traffic, predetermined where he was going to pass the ball, and just made terrible decision after terrible decision. Add that to his shaky handle and he was a turnover waiting to happen. If Bembry can tighten that handle, choose his spots wisely, and make better decisions with the ball in his hands he'll have a place on this team. I still think he has a lot of potential and could be an batum/iggy lite if he works hard on his shot and handle. he's got vision and playmaking ability, he just needs to play under control.
  8. Surprise of the the game was definitely Len for me. Looks like he can be a long term backup C solution if he keeps up this style of play. Love his activity and hustle on defense and on the boards.
  9. of all people cole f***ing aldrich I would rather give Adrien Payne a shot
  10. With the 159th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: MITCHELL ROBINSON I think Robinson will be a monster on defense. He has the physical tools to be an elite defensive big in today'a NBA. Shot blocking, rim protection, pick & roll defense, and switching. Robinson has the potential to be great to elite in all those aspects on defense if he puts in the work. PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward/Rondae Hollis-Jefferson/Kelly Oubre Jr PF: Nikola Mirotic/Jordan Bell C: Nikola Jokic/Jaren Jackson Jr/Mitchell Robinson @lethalweapon3 you're up!
  11. oh boy sorry about that fellas, had a long day today. To keep it moving, with the 154th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: KELLY OUBRE JR Oubre is a bit of a mixed bag but I like his overall skillset and his upside. He's really streaky so far but when his jumper is falling, he's a good athletic 3&D guy to bring off the bench at the 3 or 4 if playing small ball. PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward/Rondae Hollis Jefferson/Kelly Oubre Jr PF: Nikola Mirotic/Jordan Bell C: Nikola Jokic/Jaren Jackson Jr HEAD COACH: Erik Spoelstra
  12. So now that leaves me with PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward/Rondae Hollis-Jefferson PF:Nikola Mirotic/Jordan Bell C: Nikola Jokic/Jaren Jackson Jr Head Coach: Erik Spoelstra
  13. With the 135th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select ERIK SPOELSTRA I took Spoelstra here for his defensive schemes. He's had the Heat in the top 10 in DRTG for the past few years. Offensively he's a hit or miss but I think he'll be fine. Futhermore, he has multiple years of post season experience under his belt. I wanted a coach who has that experience in order to prepare the players better for when that time comes. He also seems to be a solid for player development, as he has turned Josh Richardson, Hassan Whiteside, and Tyler Johnson into rotation worthy players. I'm hoping he'll do wonders for Fox, Russell, JJJ, and Bell in the future. All in all I just thought he was a good balance between contention and player development. There was another coach I had in mind but he doesn't seem very high on playing young players. @lethalweapon3 you're up!
  14. With the 130th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select JORDAN BELL Jordan Bell is an excellent player to bring off the bench. Hustle, defense, and rebounding. Every team can use a high energy guy off the bench and Bell will be that player for us. He knows his role well and only plays to his strengths. I'll use him as a backup pf and slide JJJ to the backup C. PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward/Rondae Hollis-Jefferson PF: Nikola Mirotic/Jordan Bell C: Nikola Jokic/Jaren Jackson Jr @pimp you're next!
  15. With the 111th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select RONDAE HOLLIS-JEFFERSON RHJ gives us another premier defender on the perimeter and much needed athleticism. This past year he put up 14/2/7 in 28 mpg, which is excellent because he has been trending upwards every year of his career. I caught a few games of the Nets last year and RHJ looked much improved. He's always had good handles for a wing but this past season he looked comfortable operating in the mid-range, especially from the high post. Kinda reminded me of DeRozan in a way. He's still got a long way to go in terms of 3 point shooting but i'm hoping he can eventually become a respectable 3 point shooter. PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward/Rondae Hollis-Jefferson PF: Nikola Mirotic/Jaren Jackson Jr C: Nikola Jokic @lethalweapon3 you're up!
  16. oh nice, looks like I came here at just the right time. With that being said, with the 106th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: D'angelo Russell Another pick for the future. I wanted to snag him here just to be safe. With all that out of the way, I'm still a believer in Russell. Before his injury last year, he was really showing out. I think he averaged 20 and 5, which is a great sign. His shooting could use some work still, but I like his skillset. Good ball handler, solid vision, and has the ability to create his own shot. I've always felt that he was more suited to play the SG on both offense and defense. Thats what I want him to groom him as on this team. However, with my team wanting to contend, i'll stick him at the backup 1 spot for now but he'll see time as the backup 2 or 3 in certain situations. PG: Jrue Holiday/D'angelo Russell/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward PF:Nikola Mirotic/Jaren Jackson Jr C: Nikola Jokic @pimp you're up!
  17. Alright alright. With the 87th pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: NIKOLA MIROTIC Getting Mirotic with the 87th pick is great value. I had him and another big in mind but ended up selecting Mirotic because of he was more of a defender. In fact, he's pretty underrated on that end. + DRPM every year in his career and he was great in the eye test when I was watching him ball against the Blazers. Offensively he'll fit in like a glove. Pick and pop, pick and roll's, catch and shoot, Mirotic is a player who can excel in the offense while not needing the ball in his hands. The only real problem I have with him is that he's really streaky with his shooting. However, with all the other offensive power I have, as long as he can defend well he'll still be a positive on the floor. I'll be starting him over JJJ as contention for the championship is a must on my team. PG: Jrue Holiday/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward PF: Nikola Mirotic/Jaren Jackson Jr C: Nikola Jokic @lethalweapon3 you're up
  18. With the 82nd pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: DE'AARON FOX De'Aaron Fox is a young player who has 2 way upside. It's time to add some young talent to this team to have some prospects to look forward to once our contention window is over. Fox had a bit of a rough rookie year but he'll be fine. His shooting form looks fine so if he puts in the work, I can see him being a solid shooter when all is said and done. Defensively he has the quicks to stay in front of anyone so he has great potential on that end to build upon PG: Jrue Holiday/De'Aaron Fox SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gorfon SF: Gordon Hayward PF: Jaren Jackson Jr C: Nikola Jokic @pimp you're next!
  19. 19' 1st rp or Melton would be excellent
  20. With the 63rd pick in the draft, the Marvy Marv's select: ERIC GORDON This was a tough tough choice. I want to start building for the future but I also want this team to be able to contend with Butler, Hayward, and Holiday all hitting their primes. Gordon is arguably the best sixth man in the game. He has the potential to carry bench units by himself at times with his excellent scoring ability. I'm hoping he will be able to be a stabilizing force for my planned 2nd unit. PG: Jrue Holiday SG: Jimmy Butler/Eric Gordon SF: Gordon Hayward PF: Jaren Jackson Jr C: Nikola Jokic @lethalweapon3 you're up
