Tomorrow's film study.. should have a portion where Nate says.. we got to be like them... Do what you got to do..
Remember when Huerter got a flagrant against the Knicks last year? I want to see those Hawks again.

Also, Dre wasn't an offensive factor in this game until we were down by 20. He made a few corner 3s in the 3rd, but we were already down by 20.
But the offensive focus shouldn't be on Dre. It's on how do we make Trae's life easier and how do we get open looks by Bogi and Huerter to go down?
One of the ways to make life easier for Trae is to have a wing who can create offense or at least who is willing to pass the ball.

On the bright side, Collins looked great in his minutes. We obviously needed his size and activity. I'm hoping his foot and finger hold up.

I just fine it ironic that there are so many other issues to examine in this game but the guy getting the most criticisms was the most efficient shooter, 2nd leading scorer and arguably the best defender in today's game. This is such a weird fanbase.
2nd leading scorer with 14 points lol. Our standards sure are low. And definitely not the best defender, that title goes to Wright.

Oh You're that guy! Nothing to discuss here then.
If "that guy" is not being satisfied with middling at best play from our 4th overall pick in his 3rd season, then I'm happy to be that guy. We need Hunter to be able to create any sort of offense, but he consistently falls short. How is it possible that 6'8 Hunter can be outrebounded by 5'11 Trae for the season!? I'm hoping and praying for Dre to be successful, but the reality is he has been extremely disappointing. How much longer should we wait?

We need more out of our franchise player too as well as the rest of the team. What is this obsession with Hunter??? Bogi/Trae 1-20 from the field but you want to talk about Hunter who was 6-8?? Sound pretty ignorant to me
Sure we do, for this one game. It's no surprise that Hunter is -31, a team worst. His on/off splits are the worst on the team all year, now that Cam is off the roster. He is a complete ball stopper that we don't even want to touch the ball unless he is in a position to score. He plays some decent defense and can sometimes hit an open 3, but brings nothing else to the game. We should be giving Delon his minutes.

He was defending really well on top of that. That's not a bad game at all.
We need more from our starting wing that we traded up to draft 4th overall. If this is a "good game" for him in his 3rd season, then he should be traded.

Hunter played decent today. Why are people coming at Dre?

LOL . . . Delon Wright is going to finish with a positive ( +/- ) number, isn't he?
He's +2 right now
Collins is +8
He needs more minutes!!!!

I been saying this since Jimmy arrived bro. We can’t complain about “they’re playing too physically” the whole series. We’ll you can but I damn sure hope the players don’t. It’s only the playoffs.
1 minute ago, TheNorthCydeRises said:That's playoff basketball though.
A game like this is also why Lou Williams still has a role on this team. He's the type of scorer who can pick up the slack if Trae is off.
I'm fine with it if the refs are calling it even. They are slamming into our guys driving to the basket and reaching in slapping arms and chests with no call then we get whistled for touching Jimmy's hands on a pull up. It's BS

Weird time to bring this up. The only thing I'm seeing is how the Heat get away with murder with their "physical" play
The refs didn't even want to call those 5 fouls on bogi.

Hunter is waking up. I still have faith that Miami can hit a big scoring drought.
Hunter scores on two possessions then immediately gets benched.

It's hard to do this swarming shit when Capela is playing
Okongwu making stupid fouls. Keep your hands up!

Gopod lord Trae pass the ball. See if someone else has it today..
Everyone except Gallo is passing up open shots. We need a second option for when Trae doesn't have it.

He did play 10 minutes in the 1st half, which is a little more than normal.
Are you advocating him getting starter's minutes?
Yeah I am. He's a better defender than Hunter and at least keeps the ball moving on O.
Hunter has 2 points 2 rebounds - 22 in 17 mins.
Wright 3-3-1-2 and - 1 in 9 minutes

Nate has only played 3 off the bench. Bogi 0-7 big fat Dud, JC in limited minutes and Wright with 9 minutes.
I would think having played the Cavs on Friday and this early start the rotations would be different.
Im beginning to wonder if Nate has a personal vendetta with Wright. He was "out of the rotation" earlier in the season and still can barely sniff the court when he probably has a bigger impact on winning then anyone not named Trae, Clint, or Bogi.
-
Why does Nate insist on playing hunter over Wright? Wright made a bunch of big defensive plays and hit a 3.

Dieng is food defensively in this series. He was our worst player by far in the RS.
Okongwu hasnt been doing well at all either. He's fouling and giving up offensive rebounds.

Capela lost might be more impactful than I thought. Miami normally does a good job defending our 1/5 PnR but watching this game, its critical as it gets Trae space and Miami has to double Capela on the rebound. Without that, they have a lot of space as they don't have to double Okongwu on the boards.
We need to try Dieng at least he bring some size and spacing.

Looks like the Pelicans are going through the same struggles we were with the heavy legs. They had a season low 34 in the first half and are shooting 26% from 3.
