Hump's playoff PER is 26.  Mike is shooting a blazing .615 (not Moose). Baze is basically equaling Al's scoring and rebounding.  SMH.

I thought Bud was in the top tier of coaches.  He's proved to me he's clearly second.  Many decisions (or non-decisions) he's made this season have been flat out horrendous.

Bud should be embarrassed after watching these minutes from Hump.  That was the best stretch we've gotten from the center position in this playoff series.

True.  Duncan has been getting written off for what, 6 or 7 years now?  I ain't getting hooked.  I think he has one more monster game in him like when he beasted against OKC a couple years ago to seal the Conference.  Pop just waiting for the perfect storm to detonate it.  Likely in the Finals if they're participating.

He averaged like 20/10 on 60% in last year's playoffs, if I remember correctly.  Don't think people were writing him off.

Shot the ball we'll but completely conceded the boards.  15 for Love, 13 for Thompson, and 1 for Horford.

He had one more rebound tonight than DJ Jazzy Jeff.

This was an absolutely embarrassing rebounding effort from Horford.  Our most important game of the season where we really needed to come with physicality, our "All star" center pulls down 1 rebound in 32 minutes.  Un-freakin-believable.

There's a fundamental difference between saying you "drafted a guy" versus you trading an asset for a draft pick, which is also an asset that's inversely related to how good your team is. If there is anything in the Pau situation that is similar to a draft pick (in the sense that all teams acquire an asset in June of the NBA season which is called a draft pick) it would be Shareef as a draft pick, which is strange to think about because he was traded for. Just as Pau was traded for.

Where you say "you need to draft well/good players!" really what you're saying is you need to acquire good players. Who the f*** cares if it's through the draft, free agency, or trade (which the trade would be exactly how Kobe, Pippen, and Pau were all acquired by their first teams).

Now Diesel is being a fool by calling the draft "fool's gold" but it's equally foolish to pull the whole "OH DANG LOOK AT ALL THESE PLAYERS WHO WON A CHAMPIONSHIP THAT WERE DRAFTED BY THEIR TEAM!!!"

    Spot on.

I think this is probably the least thing unless GS comes calling.   Joe is not going to make Cleveland or OKC a championship team.  Not as long as the Warriors are still playing.   What Joe would do is sign with a team that has no fight for PT at the position he wants to play and enough say to resign next year.  That's us.  The only thing that would take him to Cleveland is his friendship with Lebron.

But why go to Cleveland and be a seldom used Richard Jefferson II... when you can come back to Atlanta and be something like the man.  Which of those moves will get you a deal next year?

Moreover, Joe has to know that coming here may mean winning a ECF!  I'll say it...

With JJ, we can beat the Cavs.

Considering last time Joe faced off with lebron in the playoffs he averaged like 25-5-5 on 48% shooting, I would say he would def help our chances.

  6. Man if we could get Joe back....  He's one of my fave Hawks players ever, I would LOVE to see JJ retire a Hawk.

He is EXACTLY what we need.  He can post up smaller players, hit a nice floater, shoot the 3, and play ok D.  He would also solve our "Who takes the final shot?" conundrum.

    SIGN ME UP!!!!

P.S.  Have you watched Joe ABUSE LBJ in the playoffs with the Nets?

Let's not get too blown away by Al's All-Star history.  Here it is:

    Game 1 - 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal

    Game 2 - 2 points, 3 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals

    Game 3 - 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 steals

    Game 4 - 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 steals

So his average is 6.25 points, 4.25 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.25 steals

Sap has averaged 3.75 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.25 assists, 0.67 steals

So in the battle of the All-Star footnotes (guys who are so far  under that radar that you forget they were there unless you note it), Al has got Sap by a small margin.  Neither of them do anything at the All-Star game that draws attention to themselves or the team.

I can't remember the last All-Star we had who actually had a presence at the All-Star game.  Was it Dikembe?

I always knew Sap was a way better defender than Horford, the fact that he averages 168% more steals in the All Star Game proves it!!  Right, @NBASupes?

You're not being fair to what Vucevic has made over the years. I also love Horford but Vuc is just as good, if not better, than Al. He's an all-star who has been snubbed two or three years in a row just because he plays for a losing team.

You're one of my fave posters on here, but I just can't get on board with this, even with a barrage of caveats.   Will Vucevic reach that level?  Maybe one day, but for now he is def not as good as Al.

Agree on both counts.  The. Woody/Drew teams were good for laying that nat'l tv egg.

And wtf is up with Comcast lately?  I thought it was just ours.  I read if you disallow the infinityweb thing or whatever its called, that helps.  I havent tried it yet tho.

Infinity web allows any Comcast subscriber to login and use your bandwidth.  That's how Comcast provides their "Universal Wifi", on the backs of their customers.
