  1. Not if you're a ticket buying fan you wouldn't. The feeling of winning a championship is great. But losing is absolutely horrible. Losing will not only suck the life out of you, it will possibly make you not love the game anymore. In essence, you're saying that you'd rather trade the last 10 years of the Sacramento Kings, for the last 10 years of the Atlanta Hawks. I call complete BS on that. The Kings played the tank game like they should, and even got a Hall of Fame player in Demarcus Cousins. And not even a 40 win season to show for it. And they felt that they had to trade their Hall of Famer, to start completely from scratch. They're about to embark on their 12th consecutive losing season in which they've missed the playoffs. 9 head coaches in that span, by the way. When you lose for that long, a championship is the furthest thing from your mind. They'd kill just to be an 8th seed 4 - 0 sacrifice to the Golden State Warriors at this point, to give the fan base just a glimmer of hope. While the Hawks may have hit the reset button to get that franchise player, they may have actually messed up by NOT re-signing Millsap and keeping Dwight for one more year. I say that because John Collins actually looks like a legit talent. A talent that, if developed properly, could be an All-Star. How great would it have been for his development, for him to be playing along a dominant rebounder and good post player like Dwight, and a versatile defensive stalwart with a mixed bag of offensive skills like Millsap? Instead, the only people that Collins is learning from, is a coaching staff trying to turn him into a stretch 4, while not developing his interior game ( because they don't him to be "too good", in fear that it might lead to wins ). This season has stunted the growth of our other lottery pick, Taurean Prince. Some in the fan base are even starting to turn on him, because he can't function as a legit 3rd scoring option. And poor Dennis. The PG who battled John Wall toe to toe in last year's playoffs, has to endure a tank season in which most of his weapons were taken away from him. He can't properly be developed either, because if he plays too well, it will lead to wins.
  2. The HAMMER is about to drop on EVERYBODY. The question is, will the NCAA make all of these teams paying players under the table, ineligible for the tournament? The answer, of course, is no. Looks like they're releasing information on the "small fishes" before they get the "big fishes". Sean Miller is first. They'll move to Avery Johnson next. Question is . . . will they DARE go after Coach K? https://twitter.com/Mark_Schlabach/status/967233866275618818
  3. 12 minutes for Dedmon? Was he on a "minutes restriction" tonight, or did he get hurt?
  4. If Ressler told the young Hawks this, why should fans continue to pay money to see home games? You're talking about a $100 investment for most people not sitting in the worst seats in the house ( ticket, parking, food & drink, gas in car/MARTA ). For an out of state fan like myself, it's $60 just for GAS, just to get to Atlanta and back home. And I used to make 5 - 10 home games a year. My plan was to hit the Phoenix game next Sunday, coming back from Charlotte. But why do it if both teams aren't even trying to win the game? It'll be my luck that the Hawks would sit Dennis and the Suns would sit Booker. Bud isn't going to play Collins more than 25 minutes in the game. So why even pay money to see a bunch of bench players play, with both teams in tank mode? People in Atlanta get criticized for their sports passion at times, but they also know what's up. That's the one town that REFUSES to pay to see a bad product. From a true fan standpoint, watching your team lose is not cool . . . I don't care if you have DJ Toni K, or Tony the Tiger in the building.
  5. Definitely not a surprise. You let go of 2 of the most recognizable faces in the franchise, while losing games at a rate that hasn't been seen in ATL in about 15 years, you're bound to lose viewers.
  6. Speaking of tanking, you can take Trae Young off of my wish list. He has wilted under the pressure, and frankly, is being exposed by more athletic PGs. As soon as teams made a commitment to stop him, he's become a very mediocre inefficient player. Last night soured me all the way on him. I'd rather for him to try to make an impact on the game, than to simply let his team die. He showed no fight out there at all. His "swag" is gone. Put me on the Bagley / Doncic train, I guess. I'll even take Collin Sexton, if we fall to 3 - 5.
  7. Young Hardaway going for 50. 37 pts midway through the 3rd
  8. Dennis with the all time tankalicious turnover. Hahaha.
  9. Haha . . this has been an entertaining, terrible game.
  10. Ersan think he's Larry Bird OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO See? That's what you get. Got yammed on.
  11. Bucks need a real coach in this situation. The target is Bazemore.
  12. LOL @ this game. Had Schröder on Parker, and they can't even score.
  13. Bucks playing like a 5th grade team. Not the Hawks fault if they win tonight.
  14. Tonight . . . you cry!! Dennis 27 pts - 11 assists Hawks 112 - Bucks 104
  15. I'm the exact opposite. I love to see the team playing hard and making winning plays. Worrying about each and every win will only drive you crazy. The Hawks schedule gets extremely difficult from here on out. Lots of road games vs playoff level team. 24 to 25 wins will be what it takes to secure the #1 spot.
  16. The Hawks can't help if they play a dumb team. Outside of flat out turning the ball over on purpose, what do ya'll want the Hawks to do? Dedmon scoring all of the points down the stretch. Dennis misses a shot, and Detroit can't get the defensive rebound. Now they have to foul the Hawks. Dennis makes 2. Now the Hawks are up 4. ( shrugs )
  17. Actually, that's not true. You rarely hear of someone sober traveling at a high rate of speed, getting into an accident and killing someone. If anything, they'll kill themselves. Tipsy / drunk drivers kill other people. So if he's a douche for driving fast . . . is the coach a douche for drinking wine, then driving?
  18. Delaney -13 at the moment, although he's playing well. The bench just can't stop anybody.
  19. Oh well, that was quick. Hawks down 1 at the half. Tank crew is like
  20. Bud always preaching the opposite of what BIGS are supposed to do. Dedmon isn't afraid to battle those guys on the inside. 7 pts - 6 rebs . . . and keeping Drummond from dominating the boards. Hawks up 7 with 3 min to go before halftime. Looks like the fan base will be on pins and needles in the 2nd half, hoping for a Hawks collapse.
  21. Has he given an explanation yet, for why he was driving 70 mph over the speed limit? I hope he wasn't on some stuff like . . . "I just bought this new Charger. Let me see how fast it can go, since no one is around." Either that, or he's really going through some things mentally. Until the truth comes out, and he starts playing better, I'm going to have to give Deandre the "Tyra Banks" treatment
  22. Maybe Dennis is playing like that on purpose? He could very well be part of the "tanking" without "tanking" program. He had an excellent 1st quarter, only to suck the rest of the way. Those are the signs of a player who has bought into the tank program. Maybe they told him . . . "Hey, you need to tone it down a bit. Get your numbers, but don't be trying to be the hero out there late in the game. You can defer a little more down the stretch of games too, if you want." Dennis: "So tank, huh?" Management: "Stop saying that!! We're not tanking. We're "building". Just do what you need to do, and don't be so "stellar" on a nightly basis. Otherwise, we'll get someone to kick your ankle, so you can be out a few months."
