  1. And Collins knocks down a corner 3. And Dennis sets him up for a contested dunk, with Collins going to the FT line. Play those 2 together more.
  2. No Bob and Nique . . . Bud was set off and drew the tech because Dennis actually drew a charge, but it wasn't called.
  3. Dennis with a quick start. This is a good sign for the Hawks. Get your 30 points tonight.
  4. I know people hate Lavar and his opinions, but he's actually right on the money on this. And because he called him out, watch how the Lakers interact with each other tonight, whether they're winning or losing. Luke may be a little bit too laid back to coach a young team that needs to be poked and prodded to bring out the best in them. People applaud Bud for being tough with Dennis, but Luke doesn't have that type of clout or pull with his young team. Lavar said almost 2 months ago that Luke needs to be tougher on HIS son. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21507969/lavar-ball-wants-los-angeles-lakers-tougher-lonzo-ball Luke brushed it off. Since then, the Lakers have played like utter crap, showing flashes of being good against the elite teams, but laying eggs against the rest. When they get going, they're a fun team to watch, especially when Lonzo is passing and Kuzma is knocking down 3s. But they're an ultra soft team. That's what Lavar is referring to.
  5. I'll acknowledge that your adjustments are probably correct. I didn't take into account the games missed. Still, the issue is that your best PG and your best big man are only playing 1/4 of the game together. With Collins not in the starting lineup, there's no way a guy like Dennis can possibly make him a better player. There is very little offensive development taking place with Collins, that we can see on the court. He's not getting the ball in the post. He's not getting set plays ran for him outside of the pick and roll. And he's not playing in crunch time at the end of games. He's being told to play defense, set picks in the pick and roll, and battle for offensive rebounds. He may legit be the best offensive player on the team, but I guess we won't even get to see glimpses of this until 2020.
  6. But the entire team can't play defense, especially the bigs. If we're tanking, that's a good thing, right?
  7. It just doesn't make any sense for Collins to not be starting right now. We're obviously not trying too hard to win games, from a strategy standpoint. And even if Collins starts, it doesn't mean we'll win. So the only conclusion I can come up with why Dennis and Collins don't play more together, is because the organization doesn't want those two to start developing chemistry with each other. And even if having Collins + Dennis on the floor is a negative defensively, that's still no reason to try to develop both of them offensively . . . unless the plan is NOT to do that. The Post touches is the worst stat to me though. 10 touches all year? That's insane.
  8. What's the beef with scoring PGs? If the team has more options on offense they won't shoot in as much volume. I'd rather have guys like Dennis and Lillard rather than the Teague's of the league. It's a different league. Everything is spacing and pick and roll now. And without teams pounding it inside to good scoring big men down on the block, it's become a PGs game. It's going to take a team winning with a good to great inside game, along with great perimeter defense, to change how this league is going.
  9. Dennis is about the only one that looks for him. He and Baze do look for Collins and find him for baskets at the rim. ( scroll all the way to the bottom of the page ) http://stats.nba.com/player/1628381/passes-dash/?sort=AST&dir=1 But with Dennis only averaging 0.8 assists per game to Collins, that tells you one of possibly 3 things. Collins isn't converting on Dennis passes . . . which is not true. He's shooting 60.4% when he receives a pass from Dennis Dennis doesn't look for Collins enough . . . which the stats say that he only passes to Collins 5 times a game http://stats.nba.com/player/203471/passes-dash/?sort=PASS&dir=1 Or, they're not playing enough together in the first place . . . . (( DING!! DING!! DING!! )) . . . Collins and Dennis have played a total of 353 minutes together this season. With the Hawks having played 38 games, that means that Collins and Dennis play a grand total of 9.3 minutes a game That is UNACCEPTABLE . . . unless this is by design to keep the win total down. And if that's the case, neither Dennis nor Collins can be fully judged by their play, or the team's play, this season.

  11. https://stats.nba.com/players/playtype-misc/?sort=TeamNameAbbreviation&dir=-1 When you go to that link, you can see what our players have done on each play type. Under "NBA Advanced Stats", you'll see the word Players thick underlined in blue. Right under Players, you'll see the words Players - Playtype - Misc and a blue triangle Click on that blue triangle to activate the drop down menu, to change the play type. Once the play type is selected, the screen will refresh and the stats will change to that play type In the dark blue section where the stats are located, click on TEAM to sort the stats. If you click on it a few times, ATL should be sorted right at the top.
  12. John Collins Play Types & Frequency Pick & Roll Man - 29.2% Cut - 25.5% Put Backs - 18.3% Represents 73% of Collins offensive play types Misc - 10.2% Transition - 6.8% Spot Up - 4% Post Up - 3.1% Isolation - 1.6% Handoff - 1.2%
  13. 10 TOTAL POST-UPS for the entire year. 2 - 4 FG . .. for 8 pts. Which means he drew fouls on a few of those attempts. Post-ups represent 3.1% of his offense. That's unacceptable for a guy who did this in college.
  14. I'm about to look up what percentage of Collins' offense comes in the post. It's ridiculous to not throw him the ball on the block, on occasion, and let him work. Instead, you have all of these dudes jacking up long jumpers that they can't make.
  15. I want Dennis to have one of these games. A game that puts the league on notice.
  16. That's not entirely accurate. Marbury got 7.6 assists in 38 minutes of play Dennis getes 6.8 assists in 32 minutes of play. When you look at their stats when tabulated on a per 36 minute basis . . . Marbury: 7.1 assists Dennis: 7.5 assists Matter of fact, here are both of their stat lines on a Per 36 minute basis: Marbury: 22.5 ppg - 7.1 asst - 2.9 rebs - 1.1 stls - 2.8 TOs . . . . 44% FG - 33% 3FG - 79% FT ( on 6.4 att ) Dennis: 22.0 ppg - 7.5 asst - 3.3 rebs - 1.2 stls - 2.8 TOs . . . . 45% FG - 30% 3FG - 86% FT ( on 4 att https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.fcgi?request=1&sum=0&player_id1_hint=Dennis+Schröder&player_id1_select=Dennis+Schröder&y1=2018&player_id1=schrode01&idx=players&player_id2_hint=Monta+Ellis&player_id2_select=Monta+Ellis&y2=2010&player_id2=ellismo01&idx=players&player_id3_hint=Stephon+Marbury&player_id3_select=Stephon+Marbury&y3=2001&player_id3=marbust01&idx=players&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=Share&utm_campaign=ShareTool#stats-per_game If Dennis could be as dynamic of a player as Marbury was in that season, I'd definitely be happy. This is a great comparison of players Diesel. Dennis is in the middle of volume scoring Monta and All-Star Steph.
  17. Steph made the All-Star team that year. Watch the end . . .
  18. The trade deadline is Feb 9th? Why so early? As for the trade scenarios, it should be high for Dennis. He's a mid 1st round pick, so accepting anything less than that would be idiotic. Baze, on the other hand, is overpaid like hell, and should be dealt for pennies on the dollar ( if possible ). A player like Baze can be replaced. A guy like Dennis, not so much.
  19. You put Collins in the game because he can make FTs, and because that play at the end is a play that should go to Collins. Collins should ALWAYS be in at the end of games, regardless of the circumstances.
  20. This was the perfect tank loss. Put the wrong personnel in the game. Then Dennis does what Diesel talks about, and takes a semi-open layup instead of going for a 3 and the tie. If this team was good, I'd be pissed right now.
  21. Great pass by Dennis there to Prince . . . but maybe the block of the year by Chriss. Wow. Too bad.
  22. Terrible defense by Baze and Prince there. Unbelievable. Is Dennis OK enough to run the offense here. If not . . I can't wait to see this play call, with you know who making the decision.
  23. And people don't think Bud point shaves. No reason why Collins shouldn't be in the game right now. Plumlee bricking FTs. LOL . . and they hit a 3. Lead all of a sudden down to 2 Tank Crowd: YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  24. 10 point lead . . 2 min to go Tank crowd: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
