  1. That last 4 minutes of the half was some of the nicest basketball on both sides, that I've seen all year. The chemistry that Dennis and Collins already have, is great to see. And the other thing that's happening when you have 2 big men who can run pick and roll with Dennis, is guys like Baze and Beli can get open shots without having to force the issue.
  2. f-l-e-x-i-b-i-l-i-t-y It made us flexible all right. It flexed all of those dudes outta here.
  3. Nice use of the bullet points. Reminds me of some of my e-mails at work.
  4. Sometimes when you win . . you really lose. And sometimes when you lose . . you really win And sometimes when you win and lose . . you actually tie And sometimes when you tie . . you actually win
  5. Trading Dwight for pennies on the dollar, when they could've received something more significant had they just waited. The same with the Joe Johnson trade. In both instances, the new GM was so quick to sell of what they thought was a bad contract ( or a detriment to their new plan ), that they took far less than what the player was actually work. Franchises like the Rockets don't do things like that. Boston definitely didn't do it.
  6. When you know that your owner doesn't want you to win games, it may have that effect on you. Dennis has legit only had 3 bad games the entire year. The guy has far exceeded most everyone's expectations this year.
  7. Killed that narrative with the quickness. Dedmon +9 . . . Collins -1 . . . but we lose by 13. Not their fault. They go for 32 pts - 18 rebs - 4 blks
  8. Please. Big men foul all the time. He had a few defensive lapses, but he also has a knack for scoring around the rim. He's dang near the perfect pick and roll partner for Dennis.
  9. And Bud better finish the game with the Collins - Dedmon frontline. Play Collins until he fouls out.
  10. But . . but . . Collins and Dedmon can't play together. Looks like it to me. Collins picking up fouls, but balling . . because he has a legit facilitator who can get him the ball. Took a dang injury to Babbit for Bud to even try this. That's why I'm losing faith in him a little as a coach. Unless he's purposely tanking, there's no reason why this shouldn't have happened earlier.
  11. If Collins is already one of our top 5 players, he needs to be playing more minutes with the guy who is running the show. But when Collins has logged one more minute on the floor with Isiah Taylor than he has with Dennis Schröder, that's a problem. Everyone keeps saying that Collins reminds them of Shawn Kemp. Well a big part of Kemp's development was playing alongside a PG who could find him around the rim for easy baskets ( Gary Payton ). But I guess we don't want Collins to improve too rapidly, because that would ruin "the process".
  12. He's fouling because he probably should be playing PF instead of C. Play him beside Dedmon, the fouling between the both of them may decrease. We'll never know though, if they hardly get minutes alongside each other.
  13. We won't see the full potential of Collins until Bud puts him in the starting lineup. Maybe Dedmon can get into a fight and get suspended for 2 games, forcing Bud to start Collins. Then again, he'll just bring back a less than 100% Moose, and start him.
  14. Maybe that's why Bud went back to Dedmon. We're tanking . . . remember?
  15. So in other words, you want him to play like an All-NBA player? I'll take "All-Star with some flaws". Baby steps.
  16. Al is the equivalent of Draymond Green. A very versatile big man who can't carry a team by himself as a #1 offensive option, but can do a lot of the intangible things that can make a team great. His all around skill set makes him an ideal person to put on any championship level team. A guy like Lebron would "LOVE" to have Horford on his squad. On a championship level team, with a Hall of Fame caliber go to scorer, Horford's peak potential is the big man version of Scottie Pippen. As long as Horford isn't asked to take on a huge scoring burden, he can definitely be impactful in many ways. Let's not forget though, he was the 3rd pick in the 2007 draft. And a top 3 guy is not only supposed to be "special", but also supposed to be an undisputed All-Star talent during his prime. Horford's career, while consistent, just doesn't cut the mustard when you compare him to other "elite" talents. If Al could do what Chris Webber did in his prime, I'd be singing a different tune.
  17. 21 is easily the worst live performance I've ever seen.
  18. 12 years. They'll take a near miss at the playoffs and be ecstatic.
  19. Dennis off to a good start vs the Kangs . . . 4 pts - 3 asst in the 1st quarter.
  20. Not bad. 1) Agree. Keep Dwight one more year. Why offer him that contract, only to completely give up on him after one season? He definitely wasn't the reason why we didn't progress further than what we did. Bud playing Moose over Dwight in the playoffs was pure idiocy. Not finding ways to keep Dwight involved in the action, even it it meant letting him shoot one or two 15 footers a game ( while the wings crashed the boards ), would've been better than not getting him involved at all. Use Year 2 to see what we could've done better with him in the lineup, and utilize him better. 2) I think everyone on this site thought that Millsap would get the max, or near the max. So if the price that could've secured Millsap here was 3/90 or 4/100, I would've matched that. We talk all the time about free agents not wanting to come here. Millsap wanted to explore his financial options, but his heart was definitely in Atlanta. I think the Hawks get him for 4 yr / 100 mill. Those 2 decisions almost guarantees that we're a top 15 defensive team. 3) While I would've loved to match THj, his playoff performance soured me on him. Had he performed to what he produced in the regular season, we win that series. With Baze getting all of that money, it's pretty easy to pass on also paying THj 4) Ersan was another guy who nutted up during the playoffs, so I wouldn't have brought him back either, especially after drafting Collins. 5) Dedmon is a solid pickup, and would've been an ideal backup behind Dwight. A much better option than Moose. This is our frontcourt, by the way PF - Millsap - Collins C - Howard - Dedmon 6) I don't think there would be any buyers for Bazemore at that price, so the need would be to get a veteran shooter to add to the bench at the SG or SF position. 7) Draft Frank Mason III and Sindarius Thornwell in the 2nd round. The Dwight trade that just gave away the 31st pick, may have seen us give away a guy who could've been a damn good backup PG for Dennis, in Frank Mason III. He's currently buried on the bench behind George Hill and De'aaron Fox in Sacramento. But that guy can ball. And Thornwell is another guy that was NBA ready. He started his first game the other night for the Clippers. PG - Schröder . . . G - Baze . . . F - Prince . . . PF - Millsap . . . C - Howard PG - Mason III . . . G - Thornwell . . . F - Bembry . . . PF - Collins . . . C - Dedmon I personally love the defensive potential of that lineup. Possibly top 5 defensively. And that bench would've been very good, even with the 2 rookies. And if you still want to add guys like Babbitt, Cavanaugh, etc, to fill out the rest of the team, I don't have a problem with that. Is that a championship level team? No. But I do think with all of the turnover in the East, this would be a top 4 team in the East, that could be in prime position to go higher if someone on Cleveland or Boston got injured.
