  1. He ain't never clutch either. But we have no choice. Keep shooting. The remix
  2. Wiggins isn't horrible. When I watch him, I see the young Rudy Gay and the current Demar Derozan. And he's only 22. If he were on the Hawks, I wouldn't be mad at all. He definitely has a shot to be great in about 3 years.
  3. This isn't as far fetched as people are making it out to be. I could definitely see Bud getting burned out by all of this.
  4. Now that's not true at all. It's almost a guarantee that at least one of the top 5 picks in each draft, will be a bust . . and one will be a potential Hall of Famer. But a potential top 5 player of all time? Nah. Like KB said, there hasn't been one of those in the draft since 2007 ( Durant ).
  5. We live in a far different era than we did 30, even 20 years ago. I think ya'll need to keep this tanking discussion to the era of free agency and 19 year old kids coming into the NBA. There are no polished college kids coming into the NBA who are ready made superstars, like we had back in the 1980s and 1990s. Elements of a title team: You have to have a Hall of Fame player playing at or near his peak . . . along with an All-Star caliber player who might have a chance at the Hall of Fame himself . . . plus a 3rd guy who can play at least at All-Star level from time to time . . . and you have to be a top 10 defensive team When you see the teams that have perpetually stayed in the depths of the NBA, despite getting tons of lottery picks, these are the reasons why they haven't even gotten back to playoff level, let alone contend for a title. I feel sorry for Sacramento. 11 years out of the playoffs, soon to be 12. Hope for the future with the lottery picks, but no guy on the team that looks like a legit All-Star talent. So they will stay in the depths, possibly for years to come.
  6. All good things must come to an end I guess. Dennis with the horrible game. Meanwhile, Delaney is shooting well.
  7. He can do that, but can't play Dedmon and Collins together longer than 2 minutes. That 3 PG lineup irritates the hell out of me.
  8. Like I said last week, trading him away when he's playing like this, would force me to find a 2nd team. If we're supposedly building for the future, and you have a guy playing like a top 5 PG, then you're not serious about a rebuild if you trade away a player like that.
  9. Great job at distributing the basketball last night. He found Baze on both of the 3s he hit down the stretch, and found Collins at the rim to tie the game at 100, when he could've easily shot a floater himself. Don't look now, but Dennis has moved into the top 6 of PGs in the league, as far as NBA Efficiency goes. http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball/fantasy/nba/playerstats/18/2/eff 22 ppg - 7 asst - 2.8 rebs 48% FG - 38% 3FG - 90% FT It's a shame that this team isn't close to .500 right now. If they were, the entire league would be talking about the improvement that Dennis has made this season. If he keeps up this pace, you may be looking at one of the great all-time seasons for an Atlanta Hawk PG. Great job man!!
  10. Shawn Kemp rookie year ( March ) Shawn Kemp 2nd year - February Shawn Kemp 6th year - January If this is his progression, I'll take it.
  11. Defense is what separates this year's team from last year's. If all people want is good ball movement and no defense, the 2017 Hawks are the team to watch. Going from 4th in defense to 25th in defense, is the main reason why we're the worst team in the NBA right now.
  12. Which is why the starting frontcourt should be he and Collins.
  13. It's only because you have no expectations for this team, so good efforts = better to watch, even if they don't win. They played well in the 2nd half. Too bad they couldn't close the deal in the end. This time last year, however, we had our 6 game winning streak broken to go 9 - 3. We were raving about how well our bench was playing, especially guys like Moose and Hardaway Jr. And I believe we were 2nd in the East behind Cleveland. Unfortunately, that would be the first loss in a 10 out of 11 loss slide that would put us 10 - 12 by the beginning of December. So let's see if this year's team can turn it around, and at least be 8 - 14 after 22 games . . instead of a potential 4 - 18 with "good" losses.
  14. In hindsight, if we were going to sell off Dwight, overpaying Millsap may have been the best thing that Collins could've hoped for. He'd have a smart veteran player to learn the nuances of playing in the paint from, as well as playing defense. Right now, Collins has no such mentor, and has to learn on the fly . . or learn from what the coaches are telling him in practice. Also, Millsap only got 3 yrs at 90 million. It's not like he got 5 years at the max. Keeping Millsap for 3 more years, while Collins develops, may have done wonders for that kid. All not signing Millsap did, was have us play the lottery. Hope Schlenk is lucky.
  15. LOL @ worst since his rookie year. He's averaging 15 ppg - 13 rebs on 59% FG. His FT% sucks at 42%. His whopping 4 turnovers a game is what is killing his efficiency numbers. But let's not act like this guy is playing horribly. He's doing what Dwight normally does. Eat the glass on both ends. Get easy baskets from put backs or dunks. And acts as the defensive presence in the paint. We';re 2 - 9. You think we'd be 2 - 9 if we had Dwight?
  16. Kyrie is a monster. Game over. Good game Hawks. Still question Bud leaving Delaney in like that, no matter how well he shot the ball.
  17. And Smart makes the "smart" decision at the end . . . assist to Tatum for the 3. Boston up 4 . . and possibly the ball game.
  18. Delaney making big shots? WTH? He's playing the 2 though, and not the point.
  19. LMAO . . . Nique killing Marcus Smart. "With a name like Smart, you'd think he make better decisions". And ya'll clown Nique for his commentary. He's been gold tonight.
  20. Great comeback by the reserves . . but it's time for Dennis. Get him back in Bud. Unless you're purposely tanking . . .
  21. And Delaney with the 4 point play. Best play of his life. LOL . . and then he misses the FT. Should've known.
