  1. ( rising up from the grave ) You called? Woody over there looking like his dad in the pic.
  2. Bud needs to bite the bullet, and just start Collins. Who cares if he doesn't have an outside shot? None of those other "fake shooters" we have on the team, have one either. After that start Moose had last November, he has completely fallen off the map. This is what people are talking about, with Bud's refusal to adjust his scheme. Play your best players. Forget your 5 out system, when guys can barely get a shot off. Just throw it to Collins on the inside every other possession, and let's see what he can do with it.
  3. TS% skews the importance of spot up - low volume shooters. If that's all you're trying to stack your team up with ( cough ) Hawks ( cough ), then you're going to be in a world of hurt on most nights. Spot up shooters either need great ball movement, or a good to great player that draws a lot of attention to themselves, in order for them to get shots off. This is why as great of a shooter Kover was, there were plenty of nights in which he'd not even reach double figures, because he wasn't open enough to get his shots up. As a starter, a 4 - 7 FG ( 3 - 3 3FG ) for 11 points game from Korver, would see his TS% be almost 80%. At the end of the day though, despite his high shooting percentage, he only got you 11 points. So which is better? 11 points off of an 80% TS . . . . or 21 points off of a 55% TS? Especially if the guy who scored 21 points has the ability to create his own shot? One guy shot great on just 7 FGA but no FTAs . . . while the other guy may have shot 6 - 16 FG ( 2 - 5 3FG ), but was also 7 - 9 from the FT line.
  4. Damn . . and I did at least want to see the Denver or the Milwaukee game. Someone call up Nate Robinson. See what he has left in the tank.
  5. Yeah if they wanted to tank, this would be the point to do it. Instead of a sprain, they'll say that Dennis has ligament damage and needs surgery . . out 6 - 8 weeks. That'll be enough to have us like 5 - 23 by Christmas.
  6. LOL . . . useless defense from Delaney on that Russell 3. Game over.
  7. I guess Cook will be added to the roster, with Dennis out possibly all of next week ( if it's just a bad sprain ). My bad, I forgot we got "Magic"
  8. OMG . . GET UP DENNIS!! ( watches replay ) Now I hope it's not a tore a ligament.
  9. I'm guessing it's because the threat of an outside shot from Ilyasova, which he isn't making anyway. But with Dedmon stepping out and shooting 3's every blue moon, Bud may as well go with an old school lineup of traditional C and traditional PF. And I see they took a point away from us. Ruled Beli's last 3 a 2. 103 - 99 Nets.
  10. Collins is really scrapping today. He deserves to be in that starting lineup. Hopefully Bud will pull the trigger on that in a week or two.
  11. End of 3rd: Hawks - 77 Nets - 91 First team to 105 wins.
  12. I was watching that game last night. The Warriors were crying ALL GAME. Steph's outburst was unacceptable. Both he and Durant wanted out of the game because they individually played great, but the rest of the team sucked. And they no answer for the rapidly improving Marc Gasol. Warriors better watch themselves before they become the most hated team in the league, and not the most fun team to watch.
  13. I wish there was a way for us to get a hold of Frank Mason Jr. He's the 3rd PG on the Sacramento bench behind George Hill and De'aaron Fox. He'd be a good addition as the backup PG, and has the ability to knock down shots from 3 point range.
  14. Dwight scored 10 points in that 3rd quarter, including 6 in a row to really get that run going. He drew an early foul on Ersan to get him out of the game. He manhandled Moose and Collins on the inside in that brief 3rd quarter stretch. His activity early in the game got Dedmon in foul trouble early. And like ATLien said, we were strictly perimeter because of Dwight. He was also +22 . . . in the 3rd quarter alone. 6 offensive rebounds TOTAL for the Hawks, despite all of those missed shots. Dwight had 4 by himself, and drew fouls on 3 of them. It's OK to not like Dwight. But the facts are the facts. He may have been the #1 reason why we lost that game last night. Our bigs have to do better next time . . . or cut one of those non-shooting PFs, and bring in a big body exclusively for situations in which we face around the basket centers.
  15. People don't realize this, but that run last night started the SECOND Dennis left the game in that 3rd quarter. Left the game with the team up 8. Came back into the game with the team down 3, with Kemba on the FT line about to make it a 6 point deficit. And the bleeding didn't stop until HE made a shot.
  16. The best SG the Hawks have had in years? Here they are - Hardaway Jr ( nope ) - Baze ( nope ) - Korver ( now he is ) - Lou Williams ( nope ) - John Jenkins ( yep ) - Deshawn Stevenson ( hmmmmm . . a wash, because of Stevenson's defense ) - Willie Green ( yep ) -
  17. This is just going to be a video log + commentary of Schröder's games, whenever he plays well enough to have individual highlights made of him. If I haven't posted a highlight of any game, feel free to do so. vs Dallas vs Charlotte The one thing I'm noticing right off the bat this season, is his improved ability to finish around the rim, as well as his improved midrange game. If he can keep finishing like this around the rim, he's going to EASILY average 22 ppg this season, because he'll get the green light to take 17+ shots.
  18. Hawks making it look easy. Up 18. Dwight needs to shoot some 3s.
  19. 14 - 2 run to close the half. Bench with a whopping 34 points. Interesting.
  20. OK Beli . . . I see you . . in the box score. Bench mob doing it.
