  1. That Collins dunk . . . OMG. As soon as it's on Youtube, someone post it here. Better than anything Josh Smith ever did, because Smoove didn't dunk on people. OMG.
  2. ( sigh ) . . . we may need 2 backup PGs. Why sign Magette to a contract when the dude can't even play on a Summer League level? Pelicans guard play is far superior and they have 3 shooters on the floor who knock down the 3.
  3. You know this fan base cares little about PER. Dwight led us in PER last season.
  4. At point guard, a 19 year vet from the University of Arizona . . . At center . . a 6 - 11 big man, your favorite and mines . . . And at forward, he's a 6 - 9 3rd cousin of a NBA legend . . Ladies and gentlemen, your Atlanta Hawks free agent signings for 2017.
  5. All of the summer league guards are garbage, which is why Bembry is the primary ball handler.
  6. Dwight was a poor leader . . . but who is the first Hawk that Bembry mentions in the post game that helped him his rookie year? Yep.
  7. LOL @ Bembry. Every time he messes up, he makes up for it. What a steal to seal the victory.
  8. Then Bembry with the clutch rebound off the FT. Putting in all the work.
  9. Great defense by Bembry, then gave it away. Hawks got lucky Pelicans messed that possession up.
  10. Because he played in a so-called great Serbian league, and came from the same team as Jokic.
  11. Kelly comes in gunning and knocking down shots.
  12. I'm noticing that too. Not assertive at all. Barely handling the ball. Short on the few shots he's taken. Missed a big opportunity in not taking Thornwell. Jenkins was much better in Summer League though.
  13. He has above average handling skills. And instead of focusing on trying to make him hit the 3 point shot, how about working on his midrange jumper, so that he can run the pick and roll, but hit a 17 foot jumper if need be. Bembry will be fine, if they let him have the ball in his hands as a playmaker.
  14. Highlight dunk by Bembry. Old school slasher game.
  15. Collins and Prince putting in work. Stone with a quick 4 points and a nice rebound and dunk.
  16. It guarantees us a top 4 pick. We could be out of the top 3 if 3 teams are picked ahead of us in the lottery drawing. And how can you say this is not a "tank", when you yourself say that we're now the worst team in the league? We haven't been the worst team in the league in almost 13 years, and that squad may be better than the one we put out on the floor this year, unless Schröder really takes his game to the next level. LOL . . then they'll probably trade him, or say that he came down with a mysterious injury, because he'd be helping us win too much. This is not only a tank . . . it's a SUPER TANK.
  17. This is why I was saying that the trade we made with the Clippers had very little to do with that 1st round pick, and definitely nothing to do with acquiring Jamal. This was Schlenk wanting his guy, Diamond Stone. I guess throwing a ton of money at Ian Clark is next.
  18. I wouldn't say that Summer League means nothing. People get invited to NBA camps based on what they showcase in Summer League. The one thing I've always said about Summer League, is that whatever a player does best, should definitely show up in these games. If it doesn't, then there might be an issue on the NBA level. With Lonzo, his passing was definitely on point last night. The shot was still off, but like I said, he's going to learn that he can't live out in 3 point range. He's going to have to get in the middle and either take an easier shot, or create for others. And that's exactly what he did last night. Without Ingram, he was much more aggressive and made a good number of correct decisions. And since Ingram is done for the rest of the summer, it will be interesting to see if Lonzo continues to be aggressive. Their next game will get all kinds of hype, going up against the Sacramento Kings and De'aaron Fox.
  19. I AM THE CORE NOW!!!! I WILL TAKE ALL OF THE SHOTS!!!! #AtlantaIsMINE I WILL TAKE ALL THE SHOTS!!!
  20. I think Schlenk's MASTER PLAN . . . is to throw a max contract at this guy in the summer of 2019.
  21. The only way this will be a 3 year process, is if Dennis becomes an All-Star during this time. The future of the Hawks ALL rides on Dennis' shoulders. If at any point Dennis gets frustrated . . or that the fan base turns on Dennis because he's doing too much, and failing at it . . that's a KILLER. You could sell the "competitive" theme, if we still had vets on the squad that could step up and win games. But as of right now, Bazemore may be the veteran voice of the team and one of the oldest players on the squad. So we need these things for this to be a 3 year process - Dennis becomes an All-Star by the 2019 season - Hawks draft someone who IMMEDIATELY looks like he has All-Star talent in his rookie year - One of the other young Hawks having the talent to be at least a borderline All-Star - Acquiring a veteran starter quality player who can possibly serve as the leader of the young squad ( which is what Millsap would've end up being )
  22. That team would not be in the Luxury Tax. Hawks would be somewhere around 110 million, depending on what vets they add to round out the roster. They will more than likely be vet minimum contracts. Luxury Tax is at 119 million. And with those guys having another season to play with each other, we would not be an 8th seed. With Prince and Hardaway starting, and Baze coming off the bench with the other kids, the team would be stronger than last season. A guy like Thornwell is NBA ready off the bench right now, and he'll show that with the Clippers. Collins and Swanigan will be solid off the bench next season as well. Good mix of seasoned vets and kids to go out with. 3 point shooting would still be an issue, but the team would have better skilled players all around.
