  1. Instant upgrade over Delaney if he can do 1/2 of this on the NBA level.
  2. The pawn shop is real. It's in Canada. I added the hawks logo and the lettering about cash and 2nd round picks.
  3. Wow . . . how depressing. So with these types of players, what kind of team are you trying to assemble? Just a bunch of stop-gap type players, or guys who may stick for 2 - 4 years? We're almost better of bringing back last year's squad of bench players, than to add some of those guys. And that's kind of sad.
  4. I actually love what some of these players are doing. They're taking the guesswork out of what will happen in free agency, and letting their current teams decide what to do with them in that final year. Like I've said in previous topics, there are some BAD GM's across the NBA. They dish out bad contracts. They don't know how to properly construct teams. And they make bad trades ( cough ) Travis ( cough ). These players have actually done more to shape the landscape of the NBA, than most of these GMs. It's unfortunate that Atlanta isn't part of the free agent / star player destination frenzy, but it's our own dang fault. Everything will play itself out though, and the league as a whole will have to adjust. The players are taking their destinies into their own hands and bucking the perceived notion that money alone will drive all of their decision making. The irony is that these players simply want to be in a better situation in order to win. But the fans of the teams being left out in the cold, and some in the media, have a problem with how they're going about it. This is actually good for the Hawks as well. If we know that "said player" has no interest in playing with us, there's no need to even try to court him. Maybe Schröder can become our "player GM" and start recruiting some guys to play with him in Atlanta in future seasons.
  5. And that's the issue for most fans who actually PAY to go watch these games live . . or even on League Pass. When you talk about a seasonal investment of anywhere from $500 - $5,000 to watch the Hawks, the bang for your entertainment dollar is very important. If a lottery team is winning 19 games at home, and is at least competitive in most other home games they lose, fans will pay to see that product, even if the overall product is poor, due to how horrible they play on the road. Anything less than 19 home wins, you risk losing the fans completely. < or = 19 wins + competitive in home losses = fans will continue to pay for the product >19 wins + bad home losses = fans keep their money and stay at home
  6. How can we put together a better package, when the GM is quick to pull the trigger and get rid of one of our biggest assets . . . to make us "flexible"?
  7. So what is your take on the Chris Paul situation? Same thing? http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19758509/la-clippers-trade-chris-paul-houston-rockets
  8. 2013 LA Lakers: 45 wins - 1st round loss 2014 Houston: 54 wins - 1st round loss 2015: Houston: 56 wins - WC Finals loss 2016: Houston: 41 wins - 1st round loss 2017: Atlanta: 43 wins - 1st round loss First off . . . not a train wreck, but the 1st round losses were disappointing, even if they weren't his fault. When you look at all of those teams, the only constant . . . was Dwight's play. He gave you exactly what you needed from the center position. He wasn't a superstar. But he gave you top 5 play at the center position. You can point to a lot other things that were far worse with some of those teams, than the play of Dwight.
  9. So double-doubles are meaningless, unless you win a championship? OK. Making a note of that in the future.
  10. Accurate sources and assessments shouldn't be viewed as "fake stats".
  11. A lot of meaningless players on this list then. http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/double-doubles/sort/doubleDouble/seasontype/2
  12. So is the problem that players are doing it out in the open . . or that they're just doing it, regardless if it's out in the open or behind closed doors? Just want to clarify what the issue is.
  13. 53 double-doubles ( 6th in the league ) Defensive presence in the middle. ( #5 overall Defensive Rating . . . basketball-reference.com ) Yes, he did.
  14. Will Bud play Zaza? Definitely not a Bud type of center.
  15. And people will get tired of losing so much, that a 42 - 40 record will look like real progress. It's like being horrible in the NFL for years, Then you go 9 - 7, make the playoffs, and act like you're a Super Bowl contender. Or in college terms . . . it will be like you're Vandy beating Tennessee to get into a bowl game, and acting like you won the damn National Championship . . even though you're only a .500 team . .. and then you get smoked in your bowl game. @Vol4ever . . . yeah, I'm still salty about that performance by the Vols @ Vandy. Unacceptable.
  16. LOL . . that's a heck of a reach.
  17. Because he's better than the guy they have currently at PF. For Denver, you either move Gallinari to SF, or to 6th man. For Sac, it's a no brainer. The young kids won't be ready, and Millsap provides veteran leadership. Millsap definitely won't go to Sacramento, but I could definitely see Denver and especially Minnesota.
  18. Timberwolves lineup with Millsap PG - Rubio G - Butler F - Wiggins PF - Millsap C - Towns 6th man - Shabazz Interesting. That lineup would make them tremendously better on defense, and could challenge for the 4 - 6 spot in the West. That's a 50 win team easily . . . on paper
  19. I watched for about 10 minutes. I got tired of seeing Mike James and Cuttino Mobley throw up brick after brick. I did like the fact that those guys were actually trying though, and playing a little defense.
  20. I questioned the caliber of players he was playing against. Just because Jokic played on that team, doesn't mean that they're a hotbed of NBA talent. If AKA is as good as Ivan Johnson was, I'll be thrilled. But he honestly doesn't have 1/2 the talent that Ivan did. Hope I'm dead wrong on that assessment though. We need good young talent to cultivate into something, especially on the frontline.
  21. LOL . . come on man. I hope AKA can turn out to be a little bit of something, but look at the competition he's playing against in these clips. He reminds me of how Trenton Hassell looks like the greatest b-ball player in the world, when he goes to some of the local rec centers here and plays some pickup ball against the dudes in my city. I still can't get over the fact that his uniform colors are pink and green. SKEEE-WEEEEE
  22. The President is right on this. We have no choice. Also consider this, when you say that Dennis is "no point guard". what exactly does that mean? If you mean, "does he make his teammates better", I'd suggest that the following players aren't point guards either. - Stephen Curry - Kyrie Irving - Isaiah Thomas - Kyle Lowry - George Hill - Damian Lillard
