  1. Leave DJ Cas alone ( as I affectionally used to call him ). He is the best 3 point shooting PG in Hawks history. 41.7% three point shooter in his 2 seasons as a Hawk.
  2. 33 min 14.7 ppg 6.1 asst 2.6 rebs 1.6 stls 2.9 TOs 42% FG 33% 3FG 78% FT A yo-yo year when he may struggle early, but come on strong after the All-Star break.
  3. Glue guy + superstar + All-Star = Championship contender ( Warriors ) Superstar + All-Star + no glue guy = Disappointing championship contender ( Clippers ) Glue guy + All-Star + Good player = Playoff contender ( Hawks ) All-Star + Good player + no glue guy = Possible 1st round disappointment ( Bulls .. and sometimes Hawks ) Glue guy + Good player + Good player = Borderline 8th seed ( Jazz ) Glue guy + Glue guy + Glue guy = hard working non-playoff team ( Bucks )
  4. I did the same while at UT. Saw a little bit of one of those practices. I believe she was the one who pioneered women practicing against men. Never got to meet her, but she was easily one of the most respected people on that campus when I was there in the early/mid 90s. I definitely went to more Lady Vols games when I was there, than the mens team. On the old Hawksquawk forms where you could have a signature, my quote was from her. OFFENSE sells TICKETS .... DEFENSE wins GAMES .... REBOUNDING wins CHAMPIONSHIPS! RIP Pat. The University of Tennessee .. the state of Tennessee .. and the entire country will honor you today in your passing. Give that death stare to the devil, before you go to Heaven.
  5. He'll get a 1 yr - 8 to 10 million deal from someone. Possibly the Lakers, if he wants to chase the money. Or he may end up in Boston or Memphis.
  6. Matchup wins from an NBA efficiency standpoint last season: ( to be considered for a matchup vs your opponent position counterpart for that game, you and the counterpart must play at least 25 minutes in a game. And you can tie/draw an efficiency matchup. ) ( will show W-L-D records in regular season .... playoffs ) Millsap: 42-20-14 .... 4-5-1 Horford: 24-33-18 .... 1-3-4 Bazemore: 24-25-5 .... 3-5-1 Korver: 25-33-11 .... 4-3-1 Schröder: 4-8-2 .... 1-0-0 ( Teague: 29-29-2 .... 3-2-0 )
  7. We needed wings. Budcox went out and got us some young athletic wings who can defend, and in the case of Prince, shoot the 3. Teague in the final year of his deal was not going to fetch a significant talent by himself. Thabo is aging. Korver is aging. And with Teague gone, we'll get to see if Dennis can take his hame to the next level. So what's the problem?
  8. I don't agree with you much, but I 100% agree with this.
  9. Considering I drive 600 miles round trip to see the Hawks, no way I'm driving down more than 3 times a year to watch an awful Hawks team ... unless they get a guy on an Anthony Davis level. I could be "entertained" by a young kid flat out balling out, with the Hawks losing ( if the games are relatively close ). A young squad like the T-Wolves, I could definitely watch. The Lakers? Hell no.
  10. The only shot we have in the short term, is to trade one of the bigs ( Horford or Millsap ) + Teague ... for Carmelo Anthony. From a scoring standpoint, he and Durant are the only guys we can even remotely obtain, that have the ability to offensively carry a team during difficult times, and put up 30+ points in the process. You need Hall of Fame talent, to combat other Hall of Fame talent. You need that offensive alpha dog. The Hawks don't have that, and must obtain that.
  11. Kyle is on the table too. He better be on that table.
  12. Game 5: 41 pts - 16 rebs - 7 asst - 3 blks - 3 stls Game 6: 41 pts - 8 rebs - 11 asst - 3 blks - 4 stls Game 7: 27 pts - 11 rebs - 11 asst - 3 blks - 2 stls 3 game average: 36.3 pts - 11.7 rebs - 9.7 asst - 3 blks - 3 stls Make no mistake sir. This is the biggest reason why they won. They took it from Golden St.
  13. So much respect for Lebron tonight. Gave it everything he had on both ends. A legacy type game for him, with that chase down block of Iggy's lay up probably being the defining play of his career. But look at who hit the game winner ... the sidekick, Kyrie Irving. Good job Lebron. Much respect for you brotha.
  14. Speaking of that. Draymont Green not in the lineup, Lebron goes off. Amazing how one key player being out, can change a defense.
  15. Lebron. Now the guy that actually occupied the PG position, waa Mario Chalmers. But Lebron was the true PG.
  16. Is Teague a borderline Hall of Fame player? Because that's the minimum requirement in this league, when you talk about winning a title.
  17. Would you trade anyone on the Hawks to obtain Lebron?
  18. You must be young, because Steve Smith and Magic Johnson have to be on that team, if you're constructing a Michigan State team.
  19. Mookie - defensive PG / volume 3 pt shooter JJ - scorer / passer / adequate defender Nique - superstar / finisher / go to guy Millsap - scorer / elite defender Dikembe - elite rebounder & defender 6th man - Horford - all around big / extra shooter
  20. What about Tavares? Why even continue to draft these project bigs, if they're never going to get a chance to contribute?
